MODULE IN FUNDAMENTALS OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION
(CRIME DETECTION AND INVESTIGATION)
Presented in these document are outline of course topic references that serves as
study guide in answering practical or situational scenarios provided in the six learning
modules.
The learning modules are found in the Compilation Two: A Compiled Materials
in Crime Detection and Investigation as the main reference.
Competencies :
The ETEEAP Beneficiary shall be able to:
1. Define/analyze the basic principles of criminal investigation
2. Know/explain the legal implication and requirements to be observed in conducting
criminal investigation
3. Identify/apply the established techniques, tools, SOPs, and phases of criminal
investigation
4. Discuss/appreciate the importance of knowing the systematic method of collecting and
preserving evidence and importance of utilizing scientific knowledge in the field of
criminal investigation
At early 3:00 AM the following day, she received a call from Bantay
through her cell phone that her apartment was ransacked. She immediately rushed
home and discovered that all the windows and doors of her apartment are still
locked. She called up the police station and opened the main door only upon arrival
of the responding policeman.
Maya Man discovered that her television and stereo sets are taken but her
refrigerator and other appliances are still intact. She rushed to her bed room and
discovered that her things are scattered but the jewelries and cash are intact,
however some important documents are missing.
