Video calls with Zoiper 3

Zoiper 3's Video capability is available only for SIP.

Zoiper 3's Video capability is available only for Windows.
To use Zoiper 3's Video capability with your own PBX server, you will need to
upgrade to Zoiper 3 Biz.

How to place a video call using my Zoiper Service account?

To place a Video Call using the Zoiper Service you will need a Zoiper Service account.
This is the only difference, so we will proceed to the next section:

How to place a video call using a SIP account?

Having a SIP account is not enough to place a Video call with Zoiper.
You will need to alter your Asterisk setup a bit.

Enabling Video in Asterisk

Use your favourite text editor to open /etc/asterisk/sip.conf for editing.

Add the following line in the [general] section:
videosupport=yes
This will enable Video support for your Asterisk.
Zoiper 3 supports vp8, H.263plus and H.264 video codecs.
Please be careful to put h263p and not h263 or the Video will not work properly.
Now proceed to the SIP accounts you'd like to use Video with. Add the following lines:
allow=h263p
allow=h264
allow=vp8
videosupport=yes

Save your configuration and reload your Asterisk.

Run your Zoiper 3 and make sure your SIP account is registered.
Find the contact you'd like to call and select it.
Press the arrow extension of the Call button.
Select Make video call.

A new window will appear. There will be no video until the call is answered. On the upper
right corner you could see a preview of what your camera actually sends to the other side.
There is a menu below, showing the name of the contact you are calling and some
functional buttons.

If you need to stop your Video for a moment you simply need to close the video window.
If want to start the Video again use the button in the Calls tab.
