Photoshop Image Effect


Black & White Sketch
1. Open Photoshop. Open desired image. We
need to convert it first into black & white.

2. Image >Adjustments > Threshold

3. Filter > Stylize > Diffuse


Select "Anisotropic"

4. Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen More

Duotone
1. Open Photoshop. Open desired image. Image can be converted
into two colors using Duotone.

2. Image >Mode > Gray Scale

3. Image > Mode > Duotone

Both the eyes are selected now.

3. Click Ok for Hue/Saturation. This will create another layer for


Hue/Saturation.

Designing logo for a travel agency


1. Start by creating a web shape using custom shape tool
2. Right click the layer in layer palette and rasterize it. Using polygon lasso tool create
selection of right edge as shown below.

3. Press Ctrl+Shift+J to cut paste the selection in a new layer. Hide this layer. Similarly cut
the left edge and paste in a new layer.
4. Unhide both the cut layers and reduce their opacity. We'll use these layers just as a
reference.

5. Create an "arrow 7" shape using custom shape tool


6. Using direct selection tool select the left nodes and move them towards right. Move the whole
arrow shape towards left and align it with the reference right edge of web shape.

Duplicate the layer. Press Ctrl+T. Right click and select Flip Horizontal and place on the other
side.

8. Hide both reference layers.

9. Select the web shape layer. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings
as shown.

10. Select the arrow shape layer. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings
as shown.

11. You can also select the top nodes of the arrow shape and move them to make the gap uniform.

12. Duplicate the web shape layer. Move this layer below the original web shape layer in layer
order in layer palette. From layer menu select layer style>>create layers. Select and merge all
the resulting layers. From filter menu select Blur>>Radial Blur. Apply settings as shown.

13. Press Ctrl+U to open hue/saturation window. Apply settings as shown.

14. Type the company name below the logo.

15. Press Warp text button from the top bar. Apply settings as shown.

Creating a logo for a flying club


1. Create a circle using elliptical shape tool.

2. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

4. Create a circular frame shape using custom shape tool.Fill with dark brown color.
Change the layer mode to "Overlay".

5. Create another circular frame shape using custom shape tool slightly smaller than
the previous one. Fill it with white color. Rasterize this layer. Using eraser tool
with a soft brush setting erase portions of this layer as shown below.
6. 6. Create "Bird 2" shape using custom shape tool.

7. Double click the layer to open layer style window. Apply settings as shown.

8. Ctrl+Click to get the selection. Contract the selection by 3 pixels. Create a new
layer. Apply Black to white gradient. Change layer mode to screen for this layer.
9. Create some lines using line tool. Select and merge all the line layers.

10. Press Ctrl+T. Right Click and select Warp. Adjust the nodes to get the shape as
shown. Using eraser tool with soft brush settings remove the left half.

11. Type the club name using a nice font and apply stroke layer style.

12. Create a rectangle using rectangular shape tool. Type punch line over it.
