impoverito la gente spingendola
a cercare prodotti meno costosi,
e dall’altra la concorrenza asia-
tica o di Paesi emergenti che ha
inondato il mercato con merce a
basso prezzo ed a bassa qualità; il
basso prezzo a sua volta, ha invo-
gliato la gente a comprare pro-
dotti scadenti che poi butta via,
quasi un usa e getta.

Se voglia-
mo una ripresa non solo econo-
mica ma anche sociale e culturale
dobbiamo invertire la tendenza,
cercare la qualità in tutti i campi:
nei prodotti, nell’informazione,
nella scuola, nella ricerca, nei
rapporti umani. La qualità deve
diventare un modo di pensare,
di sentire e di agire. Scendiamo
nello specifico del nostro Grup-
po, in cui se vogliamo le regole e
gli stimoli universali della qualità
si ritrovano tutti; il nostro lavo-
ro, il nostro costruire, il nostro
interagire dovrà sempre di più
toccare l’eccellenza della qualità.
Ognuno di noi, producendo beni
e servizi, deve trovare il gusto
personale di fare bene, il piacere
di veder nascere sotto le proprie
mani un prodotto o un servizio
perfetto. Ognuno di noi ha una
dignità spesso inconscia che
ci dice quando facciamo male
qualcosa e se non l’ascoltiamo,
a lungo andare, possiamo anche
perdere la stima in noi stessi. Ma
per ottenere la Qualità occorre
anche un Cliente che apprezzi
il nostro lavoro e che sappia ri-
fiutare il mediocre. Questo non
è purtroppo sempre automatico.
Abbiamo ottenuto nella nostra
storia molti apprezzamenti per il
lavoro svolto, per la Qualità che
ci contraddistingue, per i risultati
ottenuti e ne siamo fieri perché
la “gente Trevi” sa distinguersi;
ne sono testimoni i vari ricono-
scimenti ricevuti recentemente
da Petreven in Sud America, da
Trevi in USA, Nuova Zelanda,
Nigeria, Algeria, Angola e così
via. Abbiamo intrapreso con

Over the last years, the whole West-
ern World has been affected by a gen-
eral worsening in the quality. A more
outlined worsening process started in
the USA, in the financial sector and,
then, it became global, involving the
BAUMA 2010 whole world, Italy included, despite our
19-25/04/ 2010, Munich, Germany commitment for the «Made in Italy».
Causes can be ascribed on one side to
the recession which has really impover-
ished the people, by urging them to look
for less expensive products; and, on the
other side, to the competition made by
Asian or Developing Countries which
flooded the market with low cost and
poor quality goods. The price, in its
turn, has encouraged people to buy poor
quality products which are immediately
thrown away, that is, as if they were
disposable goods. If we are looking for
a recovery, not only financial, but also
social and cultural, we must invert the
trend, that is, looking for quality in any
field: products, information, school, re-
search and human relationships. Qual-
ity must become a thinking, feeling and
operating attitude.
Let’s enter the details of our Group,
where, for sure, the universal rules and
spurs of quality are not lacking. Our
work, our way of constructing and in-
teracting will have to touch more and
more the excellence of quality. Each of us,
by producing goods and services, must
find her/his own personal pleasure in
accomplishing the task at the best of one’s
own possibilities, that is, the pleasure of
seeing a perfect product or a service that
is taking shape under one’s own hands.
Everybody has a dignity, which is often
unconscious, and this tells us that when-
ever we do something wrong and we
don’t listen to it, we might also lose our
self-esteem in the long run.
In order to achieve Quality, we also need
a Client capable of appreciating our
work and who can reject what’s second-
rate. And this doesn’t come in automatic,
of course. All through our company his-
tory, we received many appreciations for
the work we accomplished, for our unique
Quality, for the results we achieved and
we are so proud of it because the “Trevi”
people can distinguish themselves; all
this can be witnessed by the acknowl-
edgements we recently obtained through
Petreven in South America, Trevi in
USA, New Zealand, Algeria, Angola
and so on. With FTA we undertook
a teaching direction, in order to offer
proper training and specialization to all
working levels, from managers to opera-
tors, since we believe that “knowledge”
must be shared with everybody and it
paves the way to Quality.
The main artists from the Renaissance
created masterpieces because they had re-
fined and demanding patrons. We want
demanding Clients, who can appreciate
us and who are willing to co-operate
with us in order to achieve the projects
we undertake. Times ahead can seem
more favourable to the “low price” rather
than to the “well-done” culture; for this
reason, and in order to continue with
our path, there is a pressing and priority
need, that is, to combine efficiency with
Quality, to get rid of losses and useful
disquisitions, to balance one’s own needs
with those of the others in view of a
common research of the best result at the
minor cost. A further main effort which
will join everybody under the name of a
Company Quality in which we are the
main characters.
This virtue, the pleasure of making things
with care, in a perfect and efficient way, is
one of our most precious properties which
we must safeguard at all costs.

one, with piles and other civil works.

one of 10 km) in Buenos Aires.
Pilotes Trevi is executing concrete
diaphragm walls by means of
the Soilmec Tiger H-10 hydromill
mounted on a SC-90 crane. This the
first time that this technology is used
in Argentina.

Via al passante ferroviario
Sono già partiti i lavori per il
raddoppio della linea ferroviaria di
Palermo. Il progetto, che dovrebbe
concludersi a inizio 2011, prevede
la realizzazione di 230.000 metri
lineari di pali secanti e altre
lavorazioni. Fino ad oggi sono già
stati eseguiti 50.000 metri lineari di
pali secanti.

Palermo’s railway line have already
started. The project, which should be
completed by the beginning of 2011,
involves the creation of 230,000 lm
of secant piles and other works. So
far, 50,000 lm of secant piles have

over. The project consists in the
execution of a tunnel with a 270
m2section area, a 14 m height
and a 22 m width with reduced
covers. Among the encountered
difficulties: the crossing of the
Consular Cassia Road and of an
ancient Roman villa.

I 40 anni di Soilmec

l settore metalmeccanico del
Gruppo Trevi, anagraficamente
è datato 1969, ma di fatto nasce
e si sviluppa fin dalle origini dell’at-
tività della Pali Trevisani, come
officina di manutenzione ed adat-
tamenti tecnologici innovativi per
le macchine ed impianti di cantiere
dell’impresa. Fin dall’inizio le attrez-
zature usate (una ventina) erano tri-
podi di legno con argani meccanici
e motori termici (in gergo “capre”),
nate per pali sondati con estrazione
di terreno con sonda a percussione e
getto in opera del calcestruzzo con
le carriole; dopo pochi anni l’Im-
presa Trevisani per prima trasformò
innovativamente le “capre” da pali
sondati a pali battuti tipo Franki,
con costipamento del terreno con
maglio a caduta libera su tappo di
ghiaia all’interno del tubo-forma
infisso nel terreno.
Nel 1962 nasce la prima MT 22, in
parte ripresa dalla Frankignoul di
Liegi ma nel complesso assolutamen-
te innovativa: sottocarro cingolato
azionato dai primi motori idraulici

pali inclinati. Uno dei primi cantieri
importanti fu la Banchina San Vitale

Nel frattempo all’interno dell’im-
presa crescono nuove strutture,
nella nuova officina di Torre del
Moro e dentro la baracca di legno
tinteggiata con il colore blu iniziano
a operare i primi tecnici progettisti:
Garavelli, Ricci, Severi. Il capo
officina Giorgio Pieri, Costante
Ceccarelli ed altri collaboratori ai
quali va il merito di aver studiato
le prime nuove tecnologie e conte-
stualmente progettato e costruito le
attrezzature necessarie per portare
a successo la nuova tecnica; tanto
entusiasmo, intelligenza, capacità
e dedizione portavano a superare
qualsiasi ostacolo.
Presto il metodo Franki si trasfor-
ma in Vibro Trevi con l’applicazio-
ne di vibratori idraulici in testa al
tubo-forma che hanno permesso
anche l’esecuzione dei pali vibro-
sondati inclinati nel porto di Gioia
Tauro, per le fondazioni della trave
porta binario e di ancoraggio alla
banchina.
Nel 1963 Trevi acquista negli USA
una rotary Kamo similare ad altre
marche tipo Caldwell, Williams,
Watson, per eseguire pali trivellati, a
grande diametro, con elica di perfo-

perforazione (in presenza di terreni
sotto falda i costruttori americani di
allora raccomandavano di versare
sacchi di cemento nella perforazione
e impastare il terreno per avere una
parete parzialmente cementata).
Nel primo cantiere in terreni in-
stabili, per le fondazioni della sede
degli uffici ANAS, nel centro di
Bologna, l’applicazione di questa
tecnica fu talmente disastrosa per il
franamento del terreno oltre l’avam-
pozzo in fase di perforazione che si
rese necessario sospendere i lavori e
studiare una nuova tecnologia.
La soluzione fu trovata con la nuova
Rotary RT2 applicata a un escava-
tore Link Belt 108, utilizzando la
tecnologia dei fanghi bentonitici,
già sperimentati da Icos e Rodio per
i diaframmi nella metropolitana di
Milano, utilizzando però un bucket
con il fondello apribile per lo scarico
del terreno come utensile di perfo-
razione. La perforazione mantenne
le pareti del foro stabili e nessun
problema impedì le fasi di posa in
opera della gabbia di armatura e
il getto del calcestruzzo con tubo
convogliatore.
Nasce proprio nel 1965 la nuova
tecnologia dei Pali trivellati con
fango bentonitico statico che farà
scuola in Italia ed all’estero, in quel
cantiere di Bologna dove si ottenne
una produzione media del cantiere
di due pali al giorno con diametro
120 cm e una profondità di 30 m;
un vero successo se si pensa che la
produzione delle attrezzature Beno-
to per pali simili ma tubati per tutta
altezza, non raggiungeva allora i 3-4
pali alla settimana.
Nella piccola officina di Cesena la
costruzione delle MT, imponenti
macchine per pali tipo Franki, la-
sciarono il passo alla costruzione
delle Rotary RT3 sempre più ri-
chieste dalle imprese e dal mercato
internazionale; le prime tre RT3
vendute a Soletanche operarono in
Francia per il nuovo aereoporto di
Roissy sotto il nome Rotary Trevi-
sanì; così erano chiamate in Francia
e nei registri di Soletanche. Questo
modello di macchina risulterà nel
tempo il più venduto nel mondo; le
RT3 prodotte sono oltre 1.750, sono
tuttora in produzione e la maggior
parte sono ancora operative.
Il mercato si espande, i tecnici cre-
scono di numero, alcuni si trasforma-
no in ottimi venditori, le maestranze
crescono e lo spazio è sempre più
limitato, si sente l’esigenza di un’au-
tonoma organizzazione del settore
metalmeccanico, pur rafforzando il
legame tra i cantieri di fondazione
speciali, che dalle avverse sorprese
geologiche richiedono sempre più
nuove tecniche operative e nuove
macchine e tecnici meccanici che
progettano e producono macchine
per i cantieri e per il mercato.
Il Comune di Cesena chiede all’Im-
presa di realizzare il nuovo stabili-
mento come primo insediamento
industriale nella zona di Pievese-
stina; viene costituita la Soil Mec
S.p.A., subito si acquista una azienda
agricola in un’area la più vicina pos-
sibile all’allora costruenda Autostra-
da Bologna-Ancona, allora senza il
vicino casello di accesso. Il Comune
rilascia prontamente la concessione

A’vlaveva det
Il “nonno” non aveva un ruolo nella gerarchia aziendale, non ce
ne era bisogno perché nel più puro spirito anarco-democratico
che vive in ogni romagnolo, il rispetto dell’età, della leadership e
del lavoro vale ben più di uno sterile organigramma. Assieme alle
“mangiate” che spesso ci offriva, aveva alcuni punti fermi; il più
fermo di tutti era “non si collauda di venerdì”. Quella volta, ricor-
do che eravamo molto in ritardo nella costruzione di una mac-
china battipalo MT e, approfittando della casuale assenza del
nonno sollevammo l’antenna anche se era un venerdì. Qualche
cosa andò storto e l’antenna cadde con un gran botto; passato lo
spavento e ringraziando il cielo perché nessuno si era fatto male,
la nostra sola preoccupazione era il severo giudizio del nonno
che certamente non sarebbe mancato. Arriva il lunedì e noi tutti
mogi, timorosi, pronti alla lavata di capo aspettiamo l’arrivo del
nonno. Arriva, fa un giro attorno alla antenna tutta deformata poi
ci guarda tutti negli occhi e dice “a’vlaveva det” e se ne va. Bastò
quello, lavorammo giorno e notte e alla fine riuscimmo a riparare
il danno e ad arrivare in tempo.
Me ajo fat la mi parta
Un giorno Davide Trevisani ci chiamò tutti e ci annunciò di aver fir-
mato il contratto di Bandar Abbas. Ci spiegò che sarebbe stato un
enorme cantiere per Trevi, mentre per Soilmec avrebbe significato
raddoppiare la produzione ma avendo solo sei mesi a disposizio-
ne… un’impresa impossibile se si pensa a progettazioni nuove, co-
struzioni da fare e tempo che non c’era. Terminò il discorso dicendo
semplicemente “me ajo fat la mi parta …adess fasi la vosta”. Il giorno
dopo lo stabilimento lavorava a pieno regime, nonostante fosse il 24
giugno festa del santo patrono di Cesena. Arrivammo in tempo e il
cantiere fu un successo.
Ut ha mess la man in tla spala
Ero chiamato “l’inzgnir” perché c’ero solo io. Spesso davanti a un bic-
chiere di Sangiovese sognavamo una Soilmec del futuro, e poi, con
votazione unanime incaricavano sempre me di portare avanti le istan-
ze a Davide Trevisani. Non c’era bisogno di chiedere appuntamenti,
bastava aspettare il termine del pranzo perché ogni giorno Davide
Trevisani faceva quattro passi in officina e lì, in maniera molto sempli-
ce e informale, si risolvevano tutti i problemi. Al termine della chiac-
chierata durante la quale Davide Trevisani voleva sapere tutto – di chi
è quella macchina, perché quella ralla è così sproporzionata, ecc. – i
miei colleghi mi chiedevano “ut ha mess la man in tla spala?”. Quasi
sempre rispondevo di sì e in coro mi rimandavano “ut ha za chiavè”.
Ci piaceva ridere
Non ho mai ben capito il confine fra la famiglia biologica e la fami-
glia Soilmec. Come in una famiglia non è necessario scrivere l’organi-
gramma, in quanto l’età e la posizione di padre, madre, figlio, nipote,
ecc., formano la struttura; così per noi era la stessa naturale cosa indi-
pendentemente dai ruoli aziendali la capacità di risolvere i problemi
creava la gerarchia di fatto. Uno dei giorni più belli è stato quello del
bagno nell’olio idraulico assieme all’ingegner Mazzotti. È ben vero
che siamo dovuti andare a casa in mutande e abbiamo dovuto butta-
re tutti i vestiti perché la puzza del rancido non va più via, ma è anche
altrettanto vero che quel giorno siamo stati accettati come parte del-
la famiglia. Le quasi settimanali cenette con mogli al seguito erano i
momenti più seriosi, e con il Sangiovese che scorreva a fiumi anche

a urbanizzare l’area e alla sua edifi-
cabilità; Soil Mec in 14 mesi realiz-
za il capannone a quattro campate
per la propria attività industriale, il
capannone per le riparazioni della
Pali Trevisani, il fabbricato a Y per
uffici, ed il corpo spogliatoi e mensa
con la cupola a volta circolare con
sei arcate che ancora caratterizza la
nostra sede.
Il giorno 8 Marzo 1969 alla presen-
za delle maestranze, dei collabora-
tori, delle Autorità e del Ministro
dell’industria On. Silvio Gava, il
Vescovo Mons. Augusto Gianfran-
ceschi benedice ed inaugura a Cese-
na il nuovo stabilimento Soilmec e
sede del Gruppo Trevi che diverrà
nel tempo luogo di incontro della
più qualificata imprenditoria mon-
diale nel campo della Ingegneria del
sottosuolo.

inside the casing driven into the soil.
In 1962, the first MT 22 was
born, partly developed out of the
Frankignoul di Liegi, but, as a whole,
it was absolutely innovative since it
had: a crawler-mounted undercar-
riage driven by the first Geco hydrau-
lic engines with horizontal pistons;
the Galdabini hydraulic pump with
variable delivery and big screws with
hydraulic control for inclined piles; one
of the first main sites was the San Vi-
tale Quay in Ravenna, subcontracted
by the Milan based company Rodio,
for the execution of inclined piles to
anchor the quay.
In the meantime, inside the company,
new structures were built into the
new workhouse in Torre del Moro,
and, into the wooden shed painted in
blue, the first designers-technicians
carrying the platform and of the quay
anchors.
Trevi acquired a Kamo rotary in the
USA in 1963; this rig was similar
to other brands like Caldwell, Wil-
liams and Watson and it was used for
the execution of large diameter bored
piles, with a drilling auger assembled
at the base of the squared rod driven
by the rotary and suitable for clayey,
silty soils which had a mainly steady
behaviour while drilling (in presence
of soil under water layers, the then US
constructors recommended to pour ce-
ment sacks and paste the soil in order
to have a partly cemented wall).

the execution of foundation works for

Milan metro, but at that time they
used a bucket with an extendable shoe
to discharge the soil as a drilling tool.
Drilling works assured steady hole
walls and no problems prevented the
laying of the reinforcement cage and
the concrete casting with a tremie
pipe.
But it was back to 1965 that the new
technology of Bored piles with static
bentonite mud was born, a technology
which set this trend both in Italy and
abroad; in that Bologna site, it was
hence possible to obtain an average
production of two piles a day, with a
120 cm wide diameter and at a depth
of 30 m; a real success if we consider
that the production obtained by the
Benoto equipment for similar but
cased piles for the whole length didn’t
reach 3-4 piles per week at that time.
In the small workshop in Cesena, the
construction of the MT, the bulky rig
and the room was more and more
limited; we felt the need for an au-
tonomous organization of the engi-
neering sector although the relation-
ships between special foundations’
sites - which due to adverse geological
surprises required an ever increasing
number of working techniques and
new rigs – and the mechanical tech-
nicians who designed and produced
rigs for the sites and the market was
strengthened.
The Municipality of Cesena asked
the company to set up the new factory
as the first industrial building in the
Pievesestina area; Soil Mec S.p.A.
was built and, soon after, a farm was
bought which was as close as possible
to the Motorway Bologna-Ancona;
the motorway was then under con-
struction and, at the time, it had no
tollbooth. The Municipality promptly
issued the authorizations to urban-
ize the area and for its buildability;
Soil Mec built a four-span shed for

he Trevi Group’s engi-
neering sector dates back to
1969 but, to tell the truth,
it was born and has been developing
since the origins of Pali Trevisani’s
activities, meant as a maintenance
workshop where innovative and
technological adjustments were made
to the company’ site rigs and systems.
Since the very beginning, the used rigs
(about twenty) were wooden tripods
with mechanical winches and ther-
mal engines (the so-called “goats”).
They had been produced to carry out
drilled piles which extracted the soil
with a percussion drill and the con-
crete was cast by means of barrows.
After few years, the Impresa Trevisa-
ni was the first company to innova-
began working: Garavelli, Ricci and
Severi. The workshop director Giorgio
Pieri, Costante Ceccarelli and other
collaborators had the merit of having
studied the first new technologies and,
at the same time, of having designed
and built the necessary equipment in
order to make a success out of this new
technique; there was so much enthusi-
asm, cleverness, capability and devo-
tion which always succeeded in over-
coming any possible obstacle.
Very soon the Franki method was
transformed into the Vibro Trevi,
with the application of hydraulic vi-
brators on the top of the casing; it also
allowed the execution of vibro-drilled
inclined piles in the port of Gioia
Tauro, for the foundations of the beam
centre, the application of this tech-
nique was so disastrous, due to the soil
landslide beyond the temporary casing
while drilling, that it was necessary
to stop the works and envisage a new
technology.
The solution was the new Rotary
RT2, applied to a Link Belt 108
excavator, which used the technology
of bentonite mud which had been al-

production of the Rotary RT3 which
was more and more demanded both
by the company and the international
market; the first three RT3s sold to
Soletanche were employed in France,
for the construction of the new Roissy
airport and they bore the name “Ro-
tary Trevisanì”; this is how they were
called in France and recorded into the
Soletanche registers. This rig would
have proved to be the most sold model
in the world; RT3s produced so far
are over 1750 and they are still in
production and most of the first ones
are still at work.
The market expanded, technicians
grew in number and some changed
into skilled sellers, workers increased
its industrial activity, a shed for the
Pali Trevisani’s repair works, the
Y-shaped premises for the offices, the
locker rooms and the canteen with
a peculiar round vault which is still
characterizing our seat.
On the 8th March 1969, in the
presence of workers, collaborators,
Authorities and the Ministry of In-
dustry, On.Silvio Gava, the Bishop
Monsignor Augusto Gianfranceschi
blessed and opened the new Soilmec
factory and seat of the Trevi Group in
Cesena which, in time, would become
a meeting place for the most qualified
and worldwide entrepreneurs in the
field of Foundation Engineering.

I told you so!
“Grandfather” didn’t have a role in the company hierarchy, there was
no need because in the purest of democratic anarchic spirit which
lurks inside every true native of Romagna, respect for our elders, for
leadership and commitment was worth much more than a company
organogram. Together with the great “feasts” he would often offer us
he had certain fixations; the most “fixed” of these was “no testing on a
Friday”. That time, I remember, we were very late with the construction
of an MT pile driver and, making the most of the chance absence of
grandfather, we raised the antenna even though it was a Friday. Any-
way something went wrong and the antenna came crashing to the
ground; once over the fright and thanking our lucky stars that no-one
had been hurt, our only worry was what “grandfather” would most
definitely have to say. Monday came and we were all downcast, fear-
ful, prepared for the reprimanding we would most certainly get when
grandfather arrived. Well, he walked all around the twisted antenna,
then he looked us in the eyes and said “I told you so!” and walked away.
That was enough for us, we worked day and night and in the end we
managed to repair the damage and finish the job on time.
I’ve done my bit!
One day Davide Trevisani called us all together and announced that
he had signed the Bandar Abbas contract. He explained that it would
be an enormous site for the Trevi Group and for Soilmec it would mean
doubling its production but as we only had six months... an impossible
task if you thought of all the planning and construction to be done in an
impossibly short time. He ended his speech with just “I’ve done my bit,
now you do yours” The next day the factory was working flat out, even
though it was 24th June, a local holiday for the patron saint of Cesena.
We got everything done in time and the site was a great success.
Did he put his hand on your shoulder?
I was called “the engineer” because I was the only one. Often sitting
with a glass of Sangiovese we would dream of Soilmec’s future, and
then, with a unanimous vote I would be the one elected to report back
to Davide Trevisani. You didn’t have to ask for an appointment, you
just needed to wait until after lunch because everyday Davide Trevisa-
ni would walk round the factory floor and there, very simply and infor-
mally any problems would be resolved. At the end of this chat in which
Davide Trevisani wanted to know everything; “whose is that machine?
why is that tow hitch so over-sized?” etc my work colleagues would ask
me “did he put his hand on your shoulder? I nearly always answered
yes and in a chorus they would all chant “he’s caught you out!”
We loved to laugh!
I’ve never understood the difference between your real family and the
Soilmec family. Just as in your real family you don’t need to draw up
an organogram because the age and position of father, mother, son
and grandson etc. is how it is; it was quite natural and like that for us,
independent of our roles in the company, it was our ability to resolve
problems that created the actual heirarchy. One of the funniest days
was when I shared a bath in hydraulic oil with the engineer Mazzo-
tti. It really is true that we had to go home that day in our underwear
and we had to throw all our clothes away because the rancid smell of
oil would not go away, and it is equally true that on that day we were
accepted as part of the family. After that the almost weekly suppers
we attended with our wives were the more serious times and, with the
copious amounts of Sangiovese that flowed, also the most creative;
anywhere would do, it was enough for us to get together for a laugh
and a few jokes. And you only joke with those you love.

L
a storia dell’Afghanistan
può essere ripercorsa fino
ai tempi in cui questa
terra era nota come “Ariana”.
La cultura dell’Afghanistan è
stata costruita e
influenzata dalle
culture persiana
ed ellenica, e in
seguito da quella
indiana. Questa
miscela di culture
indigene e straniere
ha creato, nel corso
dei secoli, qualcosa
di unico e degno di
essere chiamato “il
punto d’incontro
d e l l e c i v i l t à” .
Bamiyan significa “il luogo
dove brilla la luce”. La valle
centrale di Bamiyan si trova a
un’altitudine di 2.500 metri, ed è
bagnata da due fiumi: il Kakrak
a est e il Foladi a ovest. Il nucleo
del patrimonio culturale del
Bamiyan era formato dalle due
gigantesche raffigurazioni del
Buddha scolpite sui lati orientale
e occidentale di un’enorme rupe
che fronteggiava la valle centrale.
Nonostante forti e ripetute
richieste internazionali per la
protezione del Bamiyan, il regime
talebano nel marzo 2001 ha
demolito i due Buddha giganti. I
talebani non solo hanno demolito
i due Buddha, ma anche una
statua che rappresentava Buddha
in posizione seduta e un Buddha
gigante nella valle del Kakrak.
Immediatamente dopo la caduta
del regime talebano nel dicembre
2001, l’UNESCO ha risposto alla
sfida di restaurare il patrimonio
culturale afgano, che rischia
di scomparire e che, in alcuni
casi, ha sofferto danni e perdite

Pilotes Trevi, our history in Argentina

ilotes Trevi Sacims è
una società di servizi del
Gruppo Trevi impegnata
nel settore edile nel campo delle
fondazioni speciali e di altre
opere infrastrutturali. Pilotes
Trevi Sacims iniziò la propria
attività in Argentina nel 1971
con i lavori di fondazione del
Complesso Ferroviario Zarate-
Brazo Largo. Durante gli anni
’70 ha realizzato oltre 70 opere
di palificazione di grande
diametro affermandosi nel Paese
come una delle aziende leader
nell’ambito della palificazione.
Alla fine degli anni ’70 Pilotes
Trevi fa un salto di qualità grazie
all’appalto dei lavori della Diga
Alicura per la realizzazione
di lavori di perforazione e
iniezione di diaframmi plastici
e di ancoraggio, ampliando il
proprio portafoglio clienti e
diversificando i lavori. Negli
Puerto Cargill Barcazas
anni ’80 realizza oltre 90

lavori specializzandosi sia in de Piedra terminata nel 1989 per la Diga Idroelettrica

Fra gli altri cantieri Trevi
sparsi per il mondo, c’è anche
quello di Hoover Dike, sul
lago Okeechobee in Florida.
Quando sono entrato nella
stanza, lui (Craig) era lì che
stava scrivendo al computer.
Dopo avermi accolto con un
caldo, ma ironico, sorriso si
è presentato, ed io ho fatto
altrettanto. A quel punto mi
aspettavo il solito rosario di
raccomandazioni e regole
che tutti i responsabili
della sicurezza sciorinano
al visitatore che giunge in
cantiere; una prassi necessaria e
più che comprensibile, specie se
si considera il tipo di visitatore
che rappresentavo... vatti a
fidare dei giornalisti.
Conscio delle considerazioni
che passavano per la testa del
mio interlocutore, stavo lì ad
aspettare di sentirmi ripetere
cose che, in più di vent’anni

passati a girare cantieri, mi
ero sorbito centinaia di volte.
Craig Humble però mi ha
spiazzato. Sempre con l’aria
un po’ sorniona, mi ha chiesto:
“Senti un po’, quanto corri
veloce?”; pensando ad uno
scherzo, ho sorriso anch’io...
più veloce di 34 miglia
all’ora...?”. Non capendo di
cosa stesse parlando, ma ormai
comprendendo che non si
trattava di uno scherzo, ho
chiaramente risposto di no,
e gli ho quindi certificato
che le mie modeste doti di
podista non mi permettevano
di raggiungere quella
velocità. “Bene, allora mi devi
promettere che non scendi
dall’argine, e che se proprio devi
farlo non volti le spalle all’acqua”.
Non potendo più farne a meno,
gli ho chiesto perchè... “Perchè
sono dappertutto e possono
anche uscire dall’acqua ... gli
alligatori“. Mentre guidavo per
coprire la distanza che c’è fra
e l’argine della Hoover Dike su
cui si sta intervenendo, pensavo
che Craig mi avesse voluto un
po’ spaventare; ero convinto che,
in realtà, gli alligatori fossero
un’apparizione rara in Florida.
Dopo aver guardato bene lo
specchio d’acqua antistante il
cantiere, ho però capito che mi
sbagliavo. Solo il primo giorno
ne ho contati undici, alcuni di
grandi dimensioni. Cose che
succedono out in the muck.

diaframmi, palificazioni, studi

aggiudicata il lavoro che sarebbe
diventato il simbolo della città
di Buenos Aires: il Puente
de la Mujer. Avvicinandosi al
2002, in piena crisi economica
in Argentina, Pilotes Trevi
prosegue nei propri successi
ottenendo l’appalto per il
Terminal Logistico M´Bopicua
a Fray Bentos, Uruguay.
Superata la crisi nazionale si
affrontano nuovi progetti quali
il Porto di Puerto de Cargill
VGG, la Diga Los Caracoles,
l’Ampliamento del Porto Caleta
Paula, Muelle de Barcazas per
lo Stabilimento di Siderar,
la Centrale Termoelettrica
General San Martín, fino ad
arrivare ad oggi.

ilotes Trevi S.A.C.I.M.S.
is a service company
belonging to the Trevi
Group which works in the
building sector, in the field of
specialized foundations and other
infrastructures. Pilotes Trevi
S.A.C.I.M.S. was established in
Argentina in 1971 when it built
the foundations for the Zarate-
Brazo Largo railway complex.
During the 1970s it carried out
over 70 large diameter pile drilling
projects, hence establishing itself
as one of the leading pile drilling
contractors in the country. At the
end of the 1970s, Pilotes Trevi
became even more acknowledged
by winning the contract for the
Alicura dam, for the execution of
pile drilling works, the grouting
of plastic diaphragm walls
and stabilizing works, thereby
increasing its client portfolio and
diversifying its operations. In
the 1980s it carried out over 90
projects, by specializing itself in

role in projects of major importance
for the country, such as the Casa de
Diga Los Caracoles,
Piedra dam, which was finished in
Provincia di San Juan
1989, and the Piedra del Águila
dam, finished in 1990.
Pilotes Trevi began the new
decade by working on several
projects such as the pile drilling
for the hydro-electric dam at
Pichi Picun Leufu, the tunnel
construction and pile drilling
and grouting works for the El
Chocon dam, pile drilling works
for the departure terminal at
the Engineer White Port, pile

construction of jet grouting

handful of works.
Since the beginning of the new
millennium up to now, the
company has carried out works
such as geotechnical studies, pile
drilling, diaphragm walls and
it even won the contract for
what was to become the symbol
of Buenos Aires, the Puente
de la Mujer. In 2002, in the
middle of an economic crisis
in Argentina, Pilotes Trevi
continued its success in winning
the contract for the M’Bopicua
Terminal at Fray Bentos in
Uruguay. Once the national
crisis was over, it took on new
contracts such as the port of
Puerto de Cargill VGG, the Los
Caracoles dam, the extension of
the Porto Caleta Paula, Muelle
de Barcazas for the Siderar
factory and the General San
Martín thermoelectric plant.

Among the many Trevi Group
sites around the world, there is
one at Hoover Dyke, on Lake
Okeechobee in Florida. When I
walked into the room, he (Craig)
was there, typing away at the
computer. After greeting me with
a warm but slightly ironic smile,
he introduced himself and I did the
same. At that point, I expected to
hear the usual long list of rules and
regulations that all those people
responsible for the site security
reel off to a site visitor; a necessary
and more than understandable
practice, especially considering
the type of visitor I represented...
never trust a journalist.
Well aware of what was going
through in his head, I just stood
there and waited to hear all
the things I had already heard
hundreds of times, in the twenty
years I spent visiting sites. Craig
Humble however caught me off
my guard. With a sly grin he asked
me, “Listen, how fast can you run?”
Thinking it was some kind of joke
I smiled too... but he went on:
“Can you run more than 34 miles
an hour...?” Not understanding
what he was talking about, but
now realizing that it wasn’t a
joke, I clearly answered that, no,
my athletic abilities were very
modest and I certainly could not
run that fast. “Right, then you
have to promise me you won’t step
off the embankment, and if you
absolutely have to, you must not
turn your back to the water”. At
this point I couldn’t stop myself
from asking him why... “Because
they are everywhere and they
also can come out of the water...
the alligators”. On the drive
from where the plant was to the
Hoover Dyke embankment where
we were working, I was thinking
that Craig had just wanted to
frighten me a little, I was, in fact,
convinced that alligators were
rare in Florida. After having
looked at the flat water next to
the site however, I realized how
wrong I had been. On the very
first day, I saw eleven of them,
and some of them were really big.

I primi Trevipark costruiti a Cesena risal-
gono al 1994. Per la realizzazione della
fondazione del parcheggio si utilizzò
una fresa verticale della Soilmec (la stes-
sa usata per la cinturazione dell’inquina-
mento delle falde, provocata dai prodot-
ti tossici della fabbrica ACNA di Cengio).
Questa macchina doveva lavorare, con
regolare permesso, a ciclo continuo di
24 ore senza interruzione. Verso le ore
23 del primo giorno di lavoro, però, la
macchina incontrò un banco di ghiaia
provocando un livello di rumore molto
alto, impedendo di conseguenza il ri-
poso dei residenti limitrofi al cantiere.
Neanche a farlo apposto, a quell’ora pas-
sava il Presidente Davide Trevisani con
dei “bomboloni” caldi per i lavoratori. Ac-
cortosi dell’eccessiva rumorosità prodot-
ta, mi chiese di trasferire a nostre spese
tutti i residenti coinvolti nel disagio al
vicino Hotel Alexander. Una decina di
residenti accolse l’invito e li trasferimmo
rapidamente in albergo. Altra curiosità:
alla profondità di scavo di 16 metri fu
rinvenuta una quercia di epoca romana,
ben conservata; evidentemente 2000
anni fa il livello di Cesena in quell’area
era più basso.
La realizzazione dei TreviPark in zona Bar-
riera, nel 1999, provocò malcontento fra
gli elementi architettonici con
elementi nuovi. La possibilità
di lasciare l’auto in superficie,
senza dover scendere a livelli
sotterranei, rende TreviPark
molto sicuro ed efficiente per
l’utente.
TreviPark offers the private
and public sector a mechanised,
automatic, fully secure and
unmanned car park with different
sizes and features. TreviPark
belongs to the Trevi Group and
it makes use of the experience and
technical capabilities gained in
over 40 years of works performed
around the world. This technology
is easily introduced into city
locations without compromising
the environment of the involved
areas.
The reduced size of the entry-
and exit-bays (without entry
ramps) makes TreviPark’s
environmental impact negligible
and the surrounding area is
maintained in its original

ci. L’Amministrazione Comunale organiz-
zò un referendum cittadino per valutare
il gradimento dell’opera, il primo in Italia
per la modalità di espressione di voto
che avveniva toccando con un dito lo
schermo di un computer. La maggioran-
za dei votanti si espresse negativamente
(di fatto i residenti della zona), ma non
fu però raggiunto il quorum necessario
(votarono solo l’8% contro il minimo di
51%). Furono così realizzati due TreviPark
per complessivi 184 posti auto, in sostitu-
zione dei 30 posti preesistenti. Molti dei
residenti che votarono contro i parcheg-
gi… sono oggi nostri affezionati clienti!
In Piazza Fabbri, poi, fu realizzato, sem-
pre nel 1999 un TreviPark per residenti.
All’inizio dei lavori gironzolava attorno al
cantiere una signora con l’ombrello che
apriva quando vedeva qualcuno con gli
occhiali. Andava ripetendo che avremmo
trovato un tesoro, un mosaico! Dai son-
daggi e dagli accertamenti archeologici
eseguiti con la Soprintendenza Archeo-
logica non era emerso nulla. Invece, alla
profondità di 181 cm cominciarono ad
apparire alcuni sassolini quadrati bianchi

In the picture, above, installation

in Romagna di epoca imperiale, volume-
trico in bianco e nero, composto a 96.000
tessere, stava venendo alla luce. Il mosai-
co, strappato e restaurato, oggi fa bella
mostra di sé nel salone comunale, meta
di affascinati visitatori. Durante gli scavi,
inoltre, fece visita al cantiere il Soprinten-
dente dell’Emilia Romagna, la dottoressa
Calvani, che spostando con un piede un
sasso scoprì un frammento di ceramica
adriatica che riportava Ercole eraclito
(con la clava in mano). Raccogliendo il
frammento pianse dall’emozione.

The first TreviPark in Cesena dates back to
1994. The parking foundation was execut-
ed by a Soilmec vertical cutter (the same
used to wall the ground water polluted by
the toxic products escaped from the ACNA
factory in Cengio). Thanks to a special au-
thorization, this rig had to work on a con-
tinuous 24-hour cycle, without interrup-
tions. However, at about 11 pm of the first
working day, the rig encountered a gravel
bank, hence causing a very high noise level,
such as to prevent the rest of the residents
living by the site. President Davide Trevisa-
ni happened to be passing in the site just at
that moment, to bring warm cream puffs

Site experiences
La realizzazione di un parcheggio in-
terrato in ambito urbano riserva sem-
pre delle sorprese. Ricordo allora alcu-
ni aneddoti curiosi che ho incontrato
nella mia attività recente. Ad esempio,
la piena del fiume Pò con l’allagamen-
to dei locali dei Murazzi di Torino, con
il livello di piena prossimo alla quota
stradale e quindi con il pericolo di ri-
empimento del silo appena scavato.
Poi l’incatenamento di Consuelo – atti-
vista verde proveniente dall’Argentina
– per tentare di salvare le betulle di via
Benedetto Croce a Brescia, trasferite a
un vivaio per evitarne l’abbattimento.
Sempre a Brescia, poi, lo slittamento di
un getto per l’arrivo di una tappa del
Giro d’Italia (in via Benedetto Croce), e
la partenza della mitica  Mille Miglia a
pochi passi dal cantiere San Domeni-
co. Non posso dimenticare l’installa-
zione delle apparecchiature e dell’im-
pianto elettromeccanico TreviPark a
Stoccolma nell’inverno 2002-2003, alla
fresca temperatura di -17 °C. A fronte
delle numerose esperienze positive,
infine, vale la pena sottolinearne una
negativa, tra l’altro delle più recenti: il
parcheggio D’Azeglio di Bologna in via
di completamento. Questo TreviPark,
infatti, ha fatto segnare un record, e
cioè il tempo massimo mai impiega-
to nell’esecuzione di un TreviPark che
dopo oltre due anni di fermo archeolo-
gico verrà completato in poco meno di
4 anni, contrariamente a quello di Mi-
lano Adda-Cornalia realizzato in poco
più di 10 mesi.

The construction of an underground
car park in urban areas always saves
surprises. I remember some curious
anecdotes I have experienced in my
recent activities. For example, the flood
to the workers. By immediately realizing

area was lower.
The Trevipark execution in the Barriera
area, in 1999, caused discontent among
the residents for the necessary cutting of
a maritime pine. A “Save the Pine Com-
mittee” was therefore founded, which
organized the mourning list for all 400
trees which were along Viale Carducci. The
Town Council organized a city referendum
to evaluate the popularity of the work, the
first one in Italy with that voting system,
since it was by touching a computer screen
with just a finger. The majority of voters
expressed themselves negatively (mainly
the residents of the area), but the necessary
quorum was not however reached (only

saic, made of 96,000 tiles was coming to
light! The mosaic, torn and restored, today
shows off in the municipal hall, admired
by fascinated visitors. Moreover, during the
excavations, the Superintendent of Emilia
Romagna, Dr. Calvani, visited the site, and,
by accidentally moving a stone with a foot,
she discovered a fragment of Adriatic pot-
tery with the image of Hercules Heraclitus
(with a club in his hand) painted on it. She
wept for the emotion while she was picking
up the fragment.

attingendo dalle proprie
emozioni”.
In buona sostanza, l’intelligenza
emotiva è:

• la capacità di comunicare
efficacemente, saper ascoltare
le proprie emozioni e quelle
altrui;
• la capacità nel saper prendere
decisioni nei confronti di sé

• la capacità di instaurare
relazioni efficaci e durature
affermandosi in maniera
soddisfacente nella vita privata
e professionale;
• la capacità di essere in grado di
mantenere obiettivi eccellenti
ed alti livelli motivazionali.

new training programme called
“Organisational and manage-
rial development”. The aim of
this programme was to give the
staff new communication and
management skills, rather than
the more usual but important
technical ones.
The first people to take part in this
new course aimed at developing
one’s own personal performances
were selected by considering their
different roles in the production
sectors (management, middle
management and team leaders).

was the desire to discover and
measure the individual’s manage-

But what does “emotional intel-
ligence” mean? The American

considered one of the leading sup-
porters of emotional intelligence,
defines it as “developing mana-
gerial and personal performance
skills drawing on one’s emotions.”
To sum up, emotional intelli-
gence is:
• managing and being aware of
one’s own emotions and those of
others;
• the ability to communicate ef-
fectively, learning how to listen
to one’s own emotions and to
those of others;
• the ability to make decisions on
behalf of yourself and others;
• the ability to establish effective
and lasting relationships satisfac-
torily, both in private and profes-
sional life;
• the ability to achieve excellence
and be highly motivated.
Professional and emotional ex-
perience, as well as the aware-
ness of all these competences and
abilities, contribute to the acqui-
sition of a personal effective per-
formance in the work place and,
therefore, in the management of

l’azienda e l’I.T.I.S. Pascal di Ce-
sena, rappresentato dai professori
Pier Giorgio Batani e Giuseppe
Ferraro. Si tratta di un progetto
estremamente ambizioso e com-
pletamente nuovo per il panorama
italiano e soprattutto per la nostra
zona: il Gruppo Trevi fornirà pro-
poste, tecnici e componentistica
tecnologicamente avanzata, per
mezzo dei quali gli studenti della
classe 5 A dell’indirizzo di Elettro-
nica, insieme ai loro docenti, coor-
dinati dall’Ing. Ferraro, avranno la
possibilità di realizzare un prototi-
po in grado di essere già utilizzato
in modo funzionale dall’azienda.

on the Venezuelan soil. The work
was accomplished by Petreven

Venezuelan company PDVSA
(Petroleo de Venezuela S.A.), and
precisely on the ORC 20 well, in
the Orocual Field. During these
intense first 10 years of activity,
mainly performed in Venezuela,
Colombia, Peru and Argentina,
Petreven has drilled nearly
1.111 wells, for a total amount
of 4.742.813 feet of depth (equal
to 1.446 km). Said numbers are
even more relevant if compared
with those related to the accidents
on the work sites. In over six years
of activity in Colombia, Petreven

È partito il Progetto di formazione
tecnica per i CTS locali. Così come
preannunciato al meeting internazio-
nale, ha preso vita il primo incontro di
formazione per futuri trainer tecnici
locali, i Corporate Training Speciali-
st. Dopo aver individuato localmente
le persone idonee a rappresentare i
CTS, siamo partiti con il primo incon-
tro di formazione e di spiegazione del
materiale tecnico che sarà rilasciato ai
tecnici locali per formare anche teori-
camente il personale specializzato di
officina e di cantiere delle società locali.
Il Progetto consiste nel creare in alcuni
Paesi dove il Gruppo è maggiormente
presente, dei piccoli centri di forma-
zione, strutturati nelle strategie e con
il materiale didattico della casa madre,
sapendo che mediante una maggior
preparazione professionale degli ope-
ratori e dei meccanici, si aumentano
le possibilità di un loro più veloce in-
serimento e/o sviluppo del lavoro, una
maggior soddisfazione personale ed
una qualifica per il Gruppo. Il progetto
si presenta ambizioso e con tante diffi-
coltà considerati i problemi di comu-
nicazione linguistica e di complessità
delle materie. Grazie alle esperienze
maturate dai docenti e alla loro tenacia
nello sforzo di organizzare il materiale
didattico, siamo riusciti per adesso ad
impostare una parte di materiale per
corsi di formazione rivolti ad operatori
e meccanici per attrezzature di perfo-
razione di pali grande diametro.
Da sempre, la formazione tecnica si è
svolta nei cantieri e nelle officine per
affiancamento al personale più esper-
to. Questa buona abitudine non dovrà
essere assolutamente persa, rimane il
perno fondamentale attorno cui girare
per la formazione delle generazioni fu-
ture. Abbiamo voluto rafforzarla, però,
introducendo una variante: far capire
cosa ci sta dietro alla “pratica”, mostrare
cioè quella “teoria” che fa meglio com-
prendere e svolgere le attività quotidia-
ne, una teoria, dunque, con i necessari
collegamenti alla parte pratica. Così
per ogni argomento affrontato, viene
fatto vedere in aula, fase dopo fase,
quel materiale necessario ad affrontare
la pratica in maniera più proficua e in
modo didatticamente organizzato. Ma
entriamo nel dettaglio delle materie,
ognuna nelle quali è suddivisa in mo-
duli, cioè in singoli macro argomenti in
modo da rendere la didattica flessibile
e confezionabile “su misura”.
I moduli di oleodinamica, proposti
da Renato Ciavolella, arricchiti da un
vasto apparato di video illustrativi e
animazioni didattiche, conducono gli
allievi a capire tutti i “segreti” idrauli-
ci delle nostre macchine, così come il
funzionamento elettrico ed elettro-
nico è dettagliatamente sviluppato
dai moduli di Pietro Fontana che
comprendono anche la spiegazione del
DMS. Entrando nello specifico degli
argomenti dedicati ai manutentori,
Francesco Manenti e Gianluca Busni
hanno realizzato i moduli di diagno-
stica con cui si conducono gli allievi
a trovare loro le soluzioni ad alcuni
dei problemi che si possono verificare
nelle macchine, problemi spesso legati
ad un loro utilizzo errato o ad una ma-
nutenzione non corretta. Per questo
motivo diventano importanti i moduli
dedicati alla manutenzione delle at-
trezzature, al controllo qualità e alla
sicurezza, che favoriscono un utilizzo
ottimale e sicuro delle macchine e di
chi le utilizza, proposti da Manenti sia
per i manutentori che per gli operatori.
A proposito di operatori, Paolo Caval-
coli offre nei suoi moduli un’approfon-
dita documentazione didattica sulle ti-
pologie di lavorazione (in particolare
al momento su Pali e Diaframmi, ma
sono in preparazione altri argomenti)
e sulle rocce e terreni. Concludono
la parte costruita da Manenti per gli
operatori, il modulo che illustra la
messa in servizio delle attrezzature
e quella che spiega i compiti e le re-
sponsabilità della squadra di lavoro
in cantiere. Già, il cantiere: anche il
progetto CTS può essere considerato
un cantiere aperto, nel quale, mattone
dopo mattone, verrà insegnato tutto
il sapere tecnologico del gruppo e in
tutte le principali aree geografiche in
cui opera. Una formazione globale e
globalizzata.
The technical training project dedicated
to the local CTS has just started. As we
mentioned during the international
meeting, the first training meeting for
future local technical trainers, the Cor-
porate Training Specialist, has been
held. After having locally singled out the
most suitable people to become CTS, we
started with the first training meeting
which was especially meant to explain
the technical material which will be
handed over to the local technicians, in
order to also theoretically train the spe-
cialized personnel from the workshop
and sites of the local companies.
The Project is about creating small train-
ing centres in some Countries where the
Group is mainly active; these centres
will be structured in their strategies
and supported with the teaching mate-
rial drafted by the main company, being
aware that an improved professional
training of operators and mechanics will
involve a greater possibility for them to
be introduced into their working sector
and/or a greater work development, a
higher personal satisfaction and Group
qualification.
The project is ambitious and will cer-
tainly involve many difficulties con-
sidering the language communication
problems as well as the complexity of the
subjects to be passed in review. Thanks
to the experience gained by the teachers
and their tenacity in their attempt at
organizing the teaching material, so far
we managed to draft part of the ma-
terials needed for the training courses
addressed to the operators and the me-
chanics for large diameter drilling rigs.
The technical training has been always
performed within sites and workshops,
by means of the assistance of skilled staff.
This useful custom won’t be certainly left
aside and it remains as the central pinion
around which the training of future gen-
erations will develop.
We wanted to strengthen it, by introduc-
ing a variant: we aim at showing what
is behind the “practice”, that is, that “theo-
ry” which better makes people understand
and carry out the daily activities; a theory
which, in few words, has the required
connections with the practical part. There-
fore, for each treated subject, the material
suitable for facing the matter in the most
profitable way and organized according
to a teaching point of view, will be shown
in the classroom, step by step. If we ana-
lyze the details of the subjects, we find out
that each of them is divided into modules,
that is, into single macro subjects, so that

Manenti and handed over to mainte-
nance operators and general operators.
With regard to the operators, Paolo Cav-
alcoli’s modules offer thorough didactic
explanations about the working meth-
ods (especially, at the moment, about Piles
and Diaphragm Walls, but other subjects
are being prepared right in these days)
and about rocks and soils. To end with,
there’s the part drafted by Manenti for
the operators, that is, the module which
explains the starting up of the equipment
and the one which explains the tasks and
responsibilities of the working team in
the site. Yes, the site: also the CTS project
can be considered an open site in which,
brick after brick, the whole of the Group’s
technological know-how will be taught,
in all main geographic areas it works. A

La seconda edizione della Trevi Cup di Vela

The second edition
of the Trevi Sailing Cup
Si è svolta lo scorso 23 maggio a
Cesenatico la seconda edizione
della Trevi Group Cup di vela, alla
quale hanno partecipato 5 equipaggi
in rappresentanza di altrettante
società del Gruppo: in stretto ordine
alfabetico, Drillmec, Petreven, Soilmec,
Trevi, Watson. La competizione ha
visto prevalere l’equipaggio Watson;
a completare il podio gli equipaggi
Drillmec e Petreven; a chiudere gli
equipaggi Soilmec e Trevi.

representing different companies
of the group: in strict alphabetical
order: Drillmec, Petreven, Soilmec,
Trevi and Watson. The race was
won by Watson and Drillmec and
Petreven were respectively second
and third. They were followed by
Soilmec and Trevi.

A new uniform for
the Trevi Group cycling team
È stata presentata la nuova divisa ufficiale
del “Gruppo Ciclistico Trevi”. I colori sono
quelli ufficiali del Gruppo – blu e bianco –
combinati con effetti sfumati e arricchiti dai
loghi delle diverse società del Gruppo.

Sfida a tutto kart/A go-kart challenge
Lo scorso 7 luglio 2009 si è svolta,
al cartodromo internazionale di
Cervia, la prima disfida di karti-
stica Soilmec. Numerosi i parte-
cipanti alla gara che, come ogni
competizione motoristica che si
rispetti, si è snodata attraverso una
sessione di qualifica e due man-
ches. Nella classifica finale ha pre-
valso Claudio Benzi (Ufficio Tec-
nico) che, impostosi in entrambe
le prove, ha preceduto nell’ordine
Jarno Viroli (Produzione) e Lore-
dano Viroli (Spedizioni).

entries and, like all serious motor
races, two qualifying heats were
held. The competition was won
by Claudio Benzi (Technical
Office) followed by Jarno Viroli
(Production Dept.) and Loredano
Viroli (Dispatch Dept.).

edizione del “Sella Ronda Bike
Day”, manifestazione svoltasi
domenica 12 luglio 2009
attorno al Gruppo Sella, i veicoli
motorizzati non avevano alcuna
chance: i quattro passi dolomitici
erano riservati esclusivamente
agli amanti delle due ruote. La
partecipazione era aperta a tutti
e soggetta a nessuna iscrizione.
Il clima ha offerto una giornata
fantastica con temperature
ideali, per i più temerari le
condizioni perfette per tentare il
mitico “giro dei quattro passi“.
Nel dettaglio il percorso “dei
quattro passi” prevede: da
Selva al Passo Sella (altitudine
2.244 m s.l.m.) e al Passo
Gardena sul lato Val Gardena;
il tragitto Corvara – Passo
Gardena (2.137 m) e Corvara

the fourth edition of the “Sella
Ronda Bike Day”, which was
held on 12th July 2009 around
the Sella Group, motorized
vehicles had no chance! All four
passes over the Dolomites were
reserved for bicycle lovers only.
Entry was open to everyone
and no previous enrolment
was required. The weather was
fantastic and the temperature
perfect, ideal conditions for the
rash ones who wanted to attempt
the famous “Four passes course”.

(2,244 m. above sea level) and
to the Gardena pass on the Val
Gardena side; the Corvara
route (from the Gardena pass
