Merit Lists and First Round of Admission
The Merit Lists of the applicants who appeared for the Entrance
Examination in April/May 2014 for admission to M.Sc. Part-I in various
courses at the University Departments are displayed on the notice boards of
the respective Departments, concerned Examination Centers in Kolhapur,
Sangli, Satara as well as on University web site www.unishivaji.ac.in. The
displayed lists contain the General Merit Numbers as well as respective
Reserved Category Merit Numbers.
The First Round of Counseling-cum-Admission for M.Sc. Part-I
(Physics) course will be conducted on Tuesday 17th June, 2014.
Candidates as per the following General Merit Numbers as well as
Category Merit Numbers will be considered for First Round of
Counseling-cum-Admission at the Physics Departments.
All students called for the First Round of Counseling and Admission
should report on Tuesday, 17th June 2014. No separate intimation will be sent
to the students at any round.

Kindly note that: In the first round, the admission at Department of
Physics, Shivaji University Kolhapur, Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of
Science, Satara; and Smt. Kasturbai Walchand College, Sangli will be given
on merit basis.
i) The total number of seats available at Department of Physics, Shivaji
University, Kolhapur is 70. This is a granted course.
ii) The total number of seats available at Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of
Science, Satara is 20. This is a non-grant basis course. The course
fee is approximately Rs. 29,000/-. Per year.
iii) The total number of seats available at Smt. Kasturbai Walchand
College, Sangli is 20. This is a non-grant basis course. The course
fee is approximately Rs. 34,000/-. Per year
iv) The candidates called for admission round will have to specify
preference option for the admission at above places. The preference
option will be considered on merit basis only.
v) The candidates getting admission at Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of
Science, Satara and Smt. Kasturbai Walchand College, Sangli will have
to pay the token fee of Rs. 1,000/- on the 17 th June 2014 at the time of
admission.
vi) Hostel facility for girl students is available at both Satara and Sangli
centers.

1. Only those students who are called and personally present on the day and
time specified above will be considered for admission. The students called for
admission round should note that the admission will be offered on merit and
will be subject to availability of seats and their fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
2. The students will also have to produce the receipt of payment of the fees
for the Entrance Examination. Those who have not paid the Entrance
Examination fees will not be considered for admission.
3. Those students who are offered admission will have to submit original
relevant certificates (including mark sheet) along with Xerox copies and
collect their Admission Letter on the same day. The OBC/NT(B)
NT(C)/NT(D) candidates will also have to submit Non Creamy layer
certificate. They will have to make payment of the fees as prescribed in
prospectus immediately thereafter.
4. Students who take admission for one subject, but are eligible and
interested in another subject can compete for admission in that subject in
subsequent rounds. If admitted for new subject they will have to cancel their
admission in earlier subject.
5. Any seats remaining or falling vacant after the First Round of Admissions
will be filled in during the Second Round of Admission, on 21 st June, 2014.
The merit numbers of the students called for the Second Round of Admission
will be put up on the Website on 20th June, 2014 as already specified.
6. In each round of admission the admissions for General Category seats will
be done first, followed by admission for the reserve category seats.
7. Inter conversion of reserved category seats and final conversation of any
seats remaining vacant in any of the reserved category into General
category will be done immediately after Third Round of Admission on the
same day at the same time as per Govt./ University Rules. No Inter
conversion of seats during First and Second Rounds.
8. Other University seats will be filled only during the 3rd round of Admission.
Hostel Admission:The admitted students will be given Hostel Admission on merit as per the
Hostel quota allotted to each dept., at the time of admission itself. All the
female students admitted to the course, if in need of Hostel

accommodation, will be given Hostel Admission at the time of

admission itself.
