GAME 1 RECAP: CFJames Jones hit a walkoff single scoring PR Patrick Brady with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th inning as Tacoma defeated
Nashville 6-5 in game 1 on Sunday. DH Justin Ruggiano (3x4) led the team with 3 hits, while Jones (2x4, R, RBI, BB), C Mike Zunino (2x4,
2 RBI) and RF Jabari Blash (2x3, R, RBI) each collected 2 of the teams 13 hits. Starter Adrian Sampson (5.2,7,4,4,1,5,2) allowed 4 runs on
5 hits over 5.2 innings, but did not factor into the decision. RH Danny Farquhar (0.1,0,0,0,0,0), LH Joe Beimel (1.0,1,1,1,1,1) and RH J.C.
Ramirez (1.0,0,0,0,2,1) combined to allow only 1 run over the final 2.1 innings. Ramirez earned his first Tacoma win this season after working
around 2 walks and striking out 9 in the 8th inning.
GAME 2 RECAP: RF Jabari Blash hit 2 home runs, but it wasnt enough as Tacoma fell to Nashville 4-8 in game 2 on Sunday evening. Blash
(2x3, 2 R, 2 HR, 3 RBI, BB) recorded his 13th multi-home run game in his career, his 4th this season, including 2 with Tacoma. 3B Patrick
Kivlehan (2x3) recorded the Rainiers only other mult-hit game. Starter Chien-Ming Wang (6.0,8,7,7,2,1) picked up his 5th loss, allowing 7
runs on 8 hits over 6.0 innings. RH Jose Ramirez (1.0,1,1,1,0,2,HR) allowed a solo home run in the top of the 7th inning.
REHAB ASSIGNMENT: LH James Paxton began his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma on Aug. 23. In 2 rehab starts with Tacoma he is 01 with a 9.82 ERA (4 ER, 3.2 IP). He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 29 with a strained tendon in the middle finger of his left
hand after leaving the game in the 5th inning with discomfort in his left hand on May 28 vs. Cleveland. Paxton is 3-3 with a 3.70 ERA (24 ER,
58.1 IP) in 10 starts this season with Seattle.
REHAB ASSIGNMENT: LH Joe Beimel began his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma on Aug. 30. In 1 rehab appearance with Tacoma he
allowed the tying run to score 7th inning in G1 of DH on 8/30 vs. Nashville (1.0,1,1,1,1,1) Beimel was placed on the 15-day disabled list,
retroactive to August 20, with posterior inflammation in his left shoulder. He is 2-1 with 1 save and a 4.78 ERA (20 ER, 37.2 IP) with 19
strikeouts in 42 relief appearances with Seattle. Beimel was 2-1-1, 2.50 (10 ER, 36.0 IP) in his first 37 appearances this season, but has
allowed runs in his last five consecutive games (combined 1.2 IP, 8 H, 12 R, 10 ER, 5 HR, 3 BB, 1 HB, 0 SO) to nearly double his ERA. In all,
27 of his first 37 outings were scoreless. With AAA Tacoma he was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA (0 ER, 3.2 IP) with 5 strikeouts in 3 appearances. He
signed a minor league contract with Seattle on April 2 and began the season in extended spring training before joining the Rainiers.
OF NOTE:

This season the Rainiers have recorded 10 or more hits in 66 gamesthe Rainiers are batting .279 (1319x4731) with 702 runs scored,
233 doubles, 37 triples, 143 home runs, 646 RBI and 152 stolen bases in 136 games.

INF Patrick Kivlehan has an 11-game hitting streak with 7 multi-hit contests, batting .444 (20x45) with 10 runs scored, 7 doubles, 5 home
runs, 10 RBI and 3 walks.

1B Ji-Man Choi has hit safely in 6 of 10 games with Tacoma, including 6 straightoverall he is batting .394 (13x33) with 6 runs scored, 3
doubles, 1 home run, 10 RBI and 6 walks.
o Choi recorded a career-high 7 RBI on 8/26 vs. Memphis (4x5, 2 R, 2B, HR, 7 RBI), including hit a 1-out grand slam in the first
inninghis previous career-high in RBI was 5 set on May 21, 2013 at Bakersfield with High Desert (3x5, R, 2 2B, HR, 5 RBI).
o Chois 7 RBI matched the clubs season high set by Justin Ruggiano on June 27 against El Paso when he smacked three home runs.

Since being optioned from Seattle on July 30, INF Chris Taylor has hit safely in 21 of 30 games, batting .304 (35x115) with 19 runs
scored, 8 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 14 RBI, 23 walks and 2 stolen base.

In his last 71 games, since June 8, OF Stefen Romero has recorded 29 multi-hit contests, batting .304 (92x303) with 50 runs scored, 28
doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs, 50 RBI, 8 stolen bases and 14 walks.

RH Chien-Ming Wang was named PCL Pitcher of the Week, Aug. 10-16Wang made one start during the week, tossing a 9.0-inning
shutout at Oklahoma City on Saturday, August 15he held the Dodgers to just 3 hits while issuing 4 walks and striking out 2the effort
marks the first shutout for Wang since May 17, 2009 while playing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (7.0,4,0,0,0,1)Wang had not
tossed a 9.0-inning shutout since July 28, 2006, his 2nd season with the New York YankeesWang is now the 2nd Taiwanese player in

RECAP: The Generals scored 5 runs in the 5th inning as Jackson defeated Pensacola 8-2 on Sunday. 2B Tyler Bortnick (2x3, 3 R, 2 HR, 5
RBI, BB) hit his first career multi-home run game, while also tying his career-high with 5 RBI (last: 5/25/11 at Dunedin w/Charlotte). Starter
Dylan Unsworth (6.0,3,0,0,2,5) earned his 3rd AA win this season, allowing 3 hits, walking 2 and striking out 5 over 6.0 scorelss innings. RH
Andrew Kittredge (2.0,2,1,1,0,1) and RH Matt Anderson (1.0,1,1,1,0,0,HR) combined to allow 2 runs over the final 3.0 innings.
ROY HOWELL TAKES OVER AS MANAGER: The Seattle Mariners announced that hitting coach Roy Howell would assume managerial
duties for the Jackson Generals for the remainder of the 2015 season beginning June 30. Jim Horner, who had managed Seattles Double-A
affiliate since the beginning of last year, recently accepted an assistant coaching position at Washington State University. It marks the
second-consecutive season that Howell has taken over as manager for a Seattle affiliate. Last March, he replaced Rich Donnelly as the
manager at Triple-A Tacoma after Donnelly was named the Mariners third-base coach in Spring Training. He led the Rainiers to a 74-70
mark, and his 74 victories were tied for the 9th-most by a manager in his first full season. Howell, in his 4th season with the Mariners
organization, spent 2012 and 2013 with the High Desert Mavericks in the California League. His managerial resume includes three seasons
at short-season Eugene (2003-05), three seasons with San Luis of the California Collegiate League (2007-10) and one season leading the
field staff for the Road Warriors of the independent Atlantic League (2011). A former first-round selection by Texas in the 1972 draft, Howell
logged time in the PCL as a player with Spokane (1974) and Portland (1985), as well as three seasons as a hitting coach with Portland
(2000-02).

Seattle Mariners minor league SS Ketel Marte and RHP Edwin Diaz represented the World team in the 17th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures
Game at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, as part of All-Star weekend. Marte, 21, went 2-for-2 with 1 RBI playing second and batting
leadoff for the World Team. Diaz, 21, allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 1 in 0.2 innings (3rd and 4th innings) for the
World squard.
The Mariners have had 35 selections (including Marte and Diaz) to the Futures Game since its first began in 1999. Six players on the current
25-man roster (+DL) played in the Futures Game in the past: Robinson Cano (2003-04), Nelson Cruz (2005), Felix Hernandez (2004),
Logan Morrison (2010), James Paxton (2011) and Taijuan Walker (2012-13). Brad Miller was selected to the 2013 U.S. Team, but was
