Objective:
This module aims to enable learners to develop the essential knowledge and
understanding of accommodation operation and the practical skills for housekeeping
services, using appropriate cleaning agents, equipment, resources and methods.
Intended Learning Outcome:

On completion of this module successful learner will be

able to:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the structure, role and requirements of


accommodation operations within hospitality business.
2. Understand the methods, procedure and documentation used to maintain
standards in accommodation operations.
3. Perform a range of housekeeping services with appropriate tools, equipment,
method and resources.

4. Managing Inventories & Controlling Expenses
5. Safety and Security
6. Managing an On-Premises Laundry
7. Guestroom Cleaning
8. Ceilings, Walls, Furniture, and Fixtures
9. Beds, Linens, and Uniforms
10.Carpets and Floors
11.Tubs, Toilets, and Vanities
12.Public Area and Other Types of Cleaning
Instructional Approach:
Conduct lectures, seminars and workshop to illustrate the concepts of the
respective topics according to the Scheme of Work & Lesson Plan.
Engage students with in-class exercise, Q&A, group discussion, alternative
learning media like listening to clip and watching video and arrange practical
performance, if applicable.
Employ ICT, visual and audio aids and tools, where applicable, to make teaching
to be more efficient and learning to be more effective and interesting.
Incorporate learning-fun initiatives and activity-based element, such as role-play,
debate, case study, field trip, etc, to enrich students learning experience, where
necessary.
