Rone Revisted

It had all gone terrible about a year ago inside of the Rone computor. There was
a crash in the main frame and lots of lives were lost.
Sandy survived her ordeal but tradgically lost her boyfriend to a brutal slaying
. There was a huge governement cover up and then the Rone computor was put back
online. They were completly unaware that there was still bugs in the system and
the runners were in danger yet again.
The main frame had only just been fixed when the pagens became involved, yet aga
in they wanted and needed information and would try anything. It seems the mista
kes of the past year have been completly forgoten because something dark lays wi
thin the computor. the Rone computor was on a destructfull course and only Sandy
seemed to be mildly aware but was no longer valued as a runner.

It was a cold winters day when out of the blue Ray was summoned into the head of
fice. He had been a runner for about a year and was good at what he did but was
surprized when he was called on to become head runner. This would mean his whole
life would change. He would be installed with a new chip and would be plugged i
n to the computor nearly all the time, monitoring the drones (drones being the w
ord the Rone corporation called the general public). He thought hard about it th
en agreed with his boss that he could manage the promotion.
What Ray didn't realise was that his boss was just a fat git who had recently tu
rned his back on the company and was working with dark corps to destroy Rone and
take over. Ray had been set up as a fall guy. But the question was how far woul
d he fall.
It had been a fairly normal day inside of the main frame when the trouble starte
d. The first thing that happened was that the computor went into reboot which me
nt that the millions of people that were plugged in went into suspended animatio
n. The fault was located quite quickly but there had been another diver. ( a div
er was somebody that died while being plugged in. The corporation usually blamed
the deaths on drug usage amongst other things) There was somthing strange about
this diver though, she was a young fit girl in her early 20s and when she was f
ound she looked like she had been scared to death. Her hair was ash white and he
r face was locked into a scream. What nobody seemed to notice was that her lapto
p computor was missing and also that sombody had left her an electronic red rose
in her bedroom which had a small note with the word :HELPLESS: on it. Another t
hing they didn't realise is that she was a renegade hacker and was useing her co
mputor as a circuit breacker, determined to find out teh secrects behind Rone. W
hat she stumbled upon, nobody was sure. The Rone corp decided that a cover up wa
s needed even though they were unaware of what went on. They sent in their black
Knights and soon the woman was described to the press force as useing far too m
uch deens and over doseing. The public forgot about the diver in a few days but
Rone had not and someone or something had a list to get though. Lets just hope t
hat the runners suceed amongst the mist of coruption and someone special will g
o up agaist the Rone computor and put things right before lots of lifes are lost
.
Sandy was having her breackfast before plugging into the main frame. She had dec
ided to go into the close friends browser. This was a bit like a virtual reality
dateing link up, she had been single for far too long. Sandy wasn't the sort of
girl that linked up for cyper sex on line although alot of her friends did. She
was determined that somethings had to be done in real life occasionally and not
just on the main frame. These days she thought to herself people just seemed to
plug in to escape from their lifes. They even had dreamcon now to plug into in
your sleep to monitor your dreams and induce different ones. It was over a slice
of toast that she decided that she was going to fight to get her old job back.
She decided that at the end of the week she would go to the Rone corp office and
speak to her old boss. She was unaware that somebody was watching her from a pl
anted bug on her mirror. She plugged in and began her search for a boyfriend, th
e computor matched her almost straight away and she agreed to a meeting. She fou
nd out that thye mans name was Ray and he was also runner. She felt optimistic a
bout this perhaps he could be the right person for her. The people watching her
laughed soon they would move in the tracers when the couple met up. Cupid laughe
d to the group this setup was going to work in their favour the next thing to do
would be to set up bugs in her computor. Ray smiled to himself, Sandy was a nic
e name for a woman hopefully an educated woman. Ray was also looking forward to
meeting her seeing as he was on wife number 3. Ray was plugged in when the explo
sion happened.
The first thing that was heard was a large bang coming from one of the offices.
The computor went onto backup straight away bug there was a bug planted in the b
ackup system by dark corp. The drones were plugged in and suffered quite alot. T
he first thing that happened was that they lost their visuals then were imersed
in a deep blackness with a deep roaring voice in the backround. The voice kept s
aying the words :Destroy the shufflers: : make them suffer: (the shufflers was d
ark corps slang for the general public). Thankfully then hte runners came into a
ction and started collecting people and helping them log off. Ray didn't experia
nce any of this when the explosion went off. Instead he saw a vision of dark clo
acked figure which was reaching out for him. At first he mistaked it for a pagen
but then noticed that the figure was almost a skeleton. At which point he put i
t down to a bad dream. It was only when the figure said the words :10b7 is your
end save yourself: that Ray took notice. Then the main frame went back on. 24 li
fes were lost in the terrost explosion (offically) but as we know when things li
ke this happen a few drones take a dive.
The Rone corp gave out an offical statement the systems would go into place to m
ake sure that this never happened again.
It was a Monday and Ray went into head office to have his chip fitted. They punc
hed the chip into his neck and then activated it. Then the man said to Ray :That
s chip 10b7 installed. Ray had by then completely forgoten his vision but shiver
ed. Lets hope for Rays sake that something triggers somthing off and he remember
s his vision. Everything in Ray's vision became fuzzy and then it became super c
lear. The man said to him : Now you can plug in at any time and don't need to be
leaded to the computor:
That night Ray went into a deep sleep and woke up to find a rose on his bed, he
assumed it was one of his colleges messing around seeing as he had moved into th
e office and slept in almost communal dorms.
It was a full moon and was time for the pagan gathering. The now called their me
etings the gathering of the full eclipse. The arrived in full cloaks so that nob
ody knew who they were. Most of them had high positions in society and didn't wa
nt scandal. They met in a feild with a camp fire. All of the pagens were men. On
this occasion they had abducted a young women and were communally raping her th
en would drug her and set her free. When they had finished their male bonding th
ey spoke at great lenghths and exposed secrects to each other. The later part of
the evening the sacraficed a cow and drank its blood and indulged in voodoo stu
ff. BUt this wasn't enough for some of the members anymore. Some of them wanted
to force great destruction on society. Such as Brian, he was an MP quite high up
but really wanted to damage society and see great destruction. He was working f
or dark corps for they had something evil planned and needed to recruit the page
ns. Their plans were falling into place and they only left one calling card a re
d rose, which of course the police had not spotted. Many would die if their plan
ns suceed.
It was the day of the big date between Ray and Sandy. They had been speaking onl
ine and decided to go to an virtual cafe together where they could plug in toget
her and go somewhere. They got to the cafe and both seemed to like each other an
d had drinks. They plugged in but unknown to them Ray's chip was bugged. The nex
t thing they knew they were plunged into complete darkness then Sandy woke up fi
tting. Ray was really scared and took Sandy to hospital for observation. The caf
e denined responsablity and said that Sandy's drink was probably spiked. Ray fel
t really guilty and spent the next few days next to Sandy's bedside as she got b
etter and this was how they got to know each other properly.
Something stirred within the computor. Something which nobody knew about. It was
abit like an electrical monster. The was so much bad inside the rone computor t
hat this thing had come to life and it was almost as though it fed off evil. We
shall call this monster Call. It stirred then did a quick scan then fed back int
o the computor. Lets just hope that good will overcome Call.
Ray and Sandy had only known each other for a week when they decided to get marr
ied. Sandy would have to move into Ray's place of work and this would suit her s
eeing as she used to be a runner. She begged her old boss for her job back seein
g as she was on site anyway and he agreed. Nobody understood what was destined f
or the happy couple.
It was a Friday when one of Sandy's girlfriends contacted her online and arrange
d to meet. Her name was maggie and what Sandy didn't know was that maggie was a
hacker. Maggie had hacked into the main frame and found that Sandy's full name h
ad come up in scarlet. Maggie had tried to dig deeper but could not find out why
and then the scanners came online so she had to shift. Maggie was going to try
to get information out of Sandy. They met in the afternoon and had a quite lunch
. Sandy told Maggie about Ray and work but all the time Maggie had a strange fee
ling about being watched. She wanted to warn Sandy but didn't want to endanger h
erself. She decided the only way she could help was by hacking in that evening.
Maggie would ask her boyfriend for help and would use his computor as her comput
or was already partally negotioneated.
That night Maggie used her boyfriends computor and hacked in to the main frame b
ut unfortunatly she was detected by dark corps. They put a block on the informat
ion then decided to have Maggie followed then eliminated. The head of Dark Corps
, a man nicknamed Cyper was contacted and told. He decided that they would make
Maggie suffer and then see if the Rone corp could handle the publicity. It was
Cyper's idea to set up Ray and Sandy and looked forward to their downfall. You s
ee Cyper liked to see people suffer and despair. What Cyper didn't relise was th
at Ray and Sandy were strong people and together they would become brilliant.
Ray was working on worm holes at work ( where people were being sucked to differ
ent places online for no reason) when he discovered a big one in the Rone comput
or he decided to go a investigate. He plugged in and went down the worm hole and
arrived. The first thing he saw was lots of men that looked like druids. They w
ere sacrificeing a screaming woman by bleeding her to death. They were all surro
nding her and chanting. Ray was very distrested and the next thing he knew was t
hat he was back in his office.
It was the next day that Maggie was headline news for she had been found dead an
d had been brutually tortured.
Nothing much more happened for a few weeks untill the Rone corp had an arranged
meeting in head office about spys and hackers. The meeting was fairly boring and
nothing new was brought up untill one of the bosses anounced prison sentences f
or runners who had been found hackning into the system illegally. Normally the h
ackers were just sacked but eveery body agreed and the motion was passed.
Rayhad decided to hack into the Rone system to get more information on Maggies m
urder seeing as his boss had just told him that he was seeing things and was asl
eep dreaming. Ray also felt dread and as if he was in danger so he was going to
put everything on the line and become a hacker, so that he could do the right th
ing. He decided not to tell Sandy as it would just worry her but would just upgr
ade his computor hardware and software gradually.
Ray's first attempt at hacking went well and he could see stuff about the minist
ry and the on goings of the Rone corp. On his second attempt he saw his and Sand
y's names come on in neon and the words: set up: He went on to look for more but
then his chip started burning so he logged off. He was definatly going to hack
in again that evening as he was worried and confused about what he had seen.
Cyper was informed that Ray had been hacking and laughed as Ray's chip also work
ed as a bug. Cyper said to just leave Ray to it for a couple of weeks then as pl
anned put him in prison.
The computor stirred somthing dark was operating inside of it. Call was looking
for ultimate destruction which would be an online war in which millions would di
e.
Ray carried on hacking but discovered nothing of intrest. One of his work colleg
es called to warn him but he was to late. Ray had been taken off to prison leavi
ng Sandy cring at home. When Ray reached the prison he was taken into neuron tor
ture in which they attempted to extract information.
Sandy had decided to plug in and hack Ray out of prision and then they would go
on the run together. She decided to go underground to the sniffs for help seeing
as sniffs dedicated their lifes agaist the Rone corp. She was greeted with alot
of help and equipment and a man called Charles assigned himself to helping her
as he had escaped prision a while back.
They managed to get Ray out of prision but he was in a bad way. The renegades sa
w his offical chip and ripped it out of his neck. They all stayed in contact. Th
is was the start of a new era. Them agaist the powers that be. So Sandy looked a
fter Ray and they went on the run. The renegades were intent on bringing down th
e Rone corp and its corruption. They went from place to place keeping themselves
secrect.
And thats how the next book begins. On the run :underground rebels:
Something shifted inside of the computor, darkness then blood spilt. A war was o
n the horizon.
