Catholic Charities agencies across the country work at


every point in the housing continuum by providing affordable housing, offering foreclosure prevention support and conducting homeless street outreach. From
this wide perspective and as a result of Americas affordable housing crisis, we see the emotional, physical,
and financial well being levied upon millions of families,
children and single adults every day.

and affiliates responded to the survey. The survey is conducted and compiled by researchers at the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND SHELTER SERVICES


Among agencies that provided temporary shelter services, 70 agencies reported
operating or managing 238 shelters with a total of 10,189 beds available.
These services are particularly valuable for vulnerable populations including
those listed below as well as veterans, seniors, ex-offenders and runaway youth.
