Responsibilities Shared:

Automation and Control System:

Reviewing Control Narrative, Cause & Effect Diagram, Logic Diagram, Wiring Diagram,
Network and System Architecture and corresponding vendor documents and Functional Design
Specification Document(FDS) to observe and highlight and rectify ambiguity, if any.
Working with different System Vendor to establish Communication among them and helping them to
reach a solution if conflict arises; sharing necessary network details and philosophy and to let them
arrive to acceptable solution.
Participation in System Installation, configuration and HMI development ensuring client
requirements.
Participating Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Activities to provide System support to make
corrective changes on System Configuration and HMI design and ensuring complete record for
the changes. Consulting System Vendor to make corresponding changes on database.
Carrying out wiring modifications, channel assignment, tag assignment and updating the related
document to meet on-site requirement.
Keeping complete record of changes made during construction and commissioning stages and
ensuring important document such as Data Base, Tag List, IO assignment list updated.
Participating in pre-award, pre-fabrication, and other meetings as required; provide direction and
advice on technical requirements and make sure with vendor to stick with pre-agreed terms during
execution stage.
Preparing Punch List, if any, during Loop Check and Functional Test activities and to ensure both
company and clients interest intact.
Explaining System behaviour and Control Strategy to client representative during Functional Test and
Dry Functional Test to ensure the entire test be conducted on healthy environment.
Participating in a Project Standards Team to ensure that all control systems design work is completed
as per industry standards, and is consistent with the project objectives of reliability, safety, operability
and cost effectiveness.
Participating and conducting different on site and off site inspection activities such as SAT, FAT, and
Final Handover etc.

Project Responsibilities:

Ensuring all contractual requirements and obligations with customer are understood and fulfilled.
Identifying the correct changes in a proactive and timely manner, adequately document and formalise
changes with customer protecting the interest of both company and customer.
Reviewing Technical and Commercial proposals, raising comments and replying to technical queries.
In multiple system vendors project ensuring their proposed plan stick to main project philosophy and
standard.
Adequately developing and monitoring the schedule to meet the customers and companys objective.
Preparing project breakdown plan to assign different task to respective sub-contractor, issuing tender
document, reviewing bids and negotiating with subcontractor to enhance Companys profit margin
while ensuring the fulfilment of all technical aspects.
Conducting kick-off meeting with customer and internal kick-off meeting with project team
members.
Conducting project close-out meeting with customer.
Issuing periodic progress reports to customer and management.
Holding periodic review meetings with customer.
Holding periodic formal meetings and frequent informal meetings with project team members to
ensure prompt communication and dissemination of pertinent project information.
Skill in using project scheduling and control software.

Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Activities:

Ensuring proper calibration, Alarm set points, and DCS configuration as per the Documents.
Functional check of DCS and ESD, Fire and Gas Detection System, Safety Monitoring System,
Machine Protection systems, Metering System, Analyzers and other systems.
In case of conflict between Vendor document and Company Document taking central role for
resolving and find best possible option.
Ensuring all the wiring, termination, and Installation as per Standard and Company document. In case
of conflict between Standards and Company document highlighting the same to the concerned
people, if necessary conducting modification.
Planning the activities for functional test and supervising the execution of the same.
Review and verify all completion input to Project Master Schedule and detailed planning of all
Completion activities like loop check and functional test.
Participating in various project planning, execution, and organization strategy sessions with Project
Management team.
Ensuring all in-field activities carried out safely complying with company environmental health &
Safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.
Working and managing with different contractors and vendors during pre-commissioning and
commissioning activities.
Performing DCS tuning and reviewing control parameter.
Assisting project engineers in making design changes to enhance operability and correct design or
construction oversights and ensured that such changes were implemented and tested. Keeping a
complete track record of all such changes to DCS.
Reviewing Instrument Design, ordered instrumentation, and other design packages for installation
and construction and issue corrective action, if any.
Reviewing and updating P&IDs, Instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument installation
drawings and instrument datasheets and highlight changes, if required.
