Overview of Certification Fees (as of October 2010)

Certification fees
for
New Office and Administrative Buildings, Version 2010

In general, the certification fees cover the entire certification process carried out by the DGNB,
including the first two reviews of the conformity inspection. If the auditor or building owner/principal
insists on further documentation reviews, the DGNB will charge an additional 2,000 in each case.
The conformity inspection can, however, only take place once all certification fees have been paid.

All of the costs listed exclude value-added tax. The discount for members applies if the principal in the project is a DGNB member. The values
above are rounded to simplify invoicing. Slight deviations are therefore unavoidable. For the contract and all invoices, the exact values are of
course used. The fees are calculated based on gross floor area in accordance with ISO 9836. Gross floor area (GFA) includes all of the floors
above and below ground, including all garages, storage areas, and mechanical rooms.

Overview of Certification Fees (as of October 2010)

Calculation procedure for GFA > 4,000 m and < 20,000 m:

1a) Pre-certificate for
members:
2,000 + (GFA - 4,000m) x 0.35 = net certification fee
1b) Pre-certificate for nonmembers:
4,000 + (GFA - 4,000m) x 0.35 = net certification fee
2a) Certificate for members:
3,000 + (GFA - 4,000m) x 0.75 = net certification fee
2b) Certificate for nonmembers:
6,000 + (GFA - 4,000m) x 0.75 = net certification fee

Calculation procedure for GFA > 20,000 m and < 80,000 m:

1a) Pre-certificate for
members:
7,600 + (GFA - 20,000m) x 0.06 = net certification fee
1b) Pre-certificate for nonmembers:
9,600 + (GFA - 20,000m) x 0.06 = net certification fee
2a) Certificate for members:
15,000 + (GFA - 20,000m) x 0.17 = net certification fee
2b) Certificate for nonmembers:
18,000 + (GFA - 20,000m) x 0.17 = net certification fee

Auditing fees
The cost of auditing services varies greatly from one project to another. Please negotiate these fees
with your auditor, who will inform you of any extra costs, such as for special planning services, etc.

Master plan certification

It is possible to certify the master plan for one of the specific building groups above. The buildings
planned and built according to the master plan can be certified at a lower cost in a simplified process.
These fees do not depend on the project size.
