SATURDAY: MARK 2:1-12 Plan B

REFLECTION: The friends could not get through the crowd, so they used the roof.
Remember a time when you had to use Plan Bhow did it work out? Stay flexible
and willing to change it up for the sake of Christ and his wholeness.
PRAYER: Continue to shape me and mold me that I may move through my best laid
plans to your better plans for me.

WEDNESDAY: MARK 2:1-12 What roof?

REFLECTION: The lame mans friends pulled off a roof so Jesus could heal him. Who
would go that length for you?
PRAYER: Thank you for (names from your reflection) who love me enough to position
me for healing. May I too, be that kind of friend.

THURSDAY: MARK 2:1-12 A crowded welcome

REFLECTION: Jesus arrival packs the house. People gather to hear his word. How do
you feel when you are on the verge of hearing Gods word?
PRAYER: Make me hungry and excited to hear from you through your preacher and
through the Bible.

WEDNESDAY: 1 KINGS 19 Exploring on your own

REFLECTION: What word or phrase is standing out to you today? Why do you think so?
ACTION: Journal about the word or phrase and what that scripture is saying to you.

TUESDAY: 1 KINGS 19 Being beats doing

REFLECTION: Elijah was so busy that he burned out. Our doing is most complete
when it comes from being. Too often we work to prove our worth when God says,
Just be, and you are worthy.
ACTION: In your time of silence today, savor the truth that you are worthy in the
sight of God.

ACTION: Set a timer and sit in silence for 2 minutes each day this week. When your
thoughts wander, just say to yourself God is with me. You might even journal
about your experience. After this week, add another minute. There is no magical
number of minutes; just learn to savor the silence. Enjoy!

Feathers on the Wind by Edward Hays

MONDAY: 1 KINGS 19 Savor the silence

REFLECTION: If we want to live like a feather on the Wind, we must strive at least
once a day to taste the peace of paradise that dwells within us. We need to find
some time to sit quietly in peace, in stillness, savoring the mystery of God within
us. Such silent sitting will not only prepare us to find eternal rest at the time of
our death; it will help us find infinite peace in the midst of the problems of life. from

Scripture: 1 Kings 19:11-13 (NRSV)

He said, Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is
about to pass by. Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting
mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not
in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the
earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire;
and after the fire a sound of sheer silence. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped
his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then
there came a voice to him that said, What are you doing here, Elijah?.
