Delicate Side to Side ShawlBlueberry Fields Kimono

This gorgeous pink shawl is comprised of beautiful triangular motifs.


Placed on top of each other, the individual triangles create a glamorous
shawl that is sure to become a wonderful addition to any womans
wardrobe. This pattern is available for free only from 8/17 8/21.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Size: 42 each side
Gauge: Each side of the triangles = 3 (7.6 cm)
M ATE R I AL S
Yarn: Aunt Lydias Crochet Thread, Classic size 10 (100% mercerized
cotton; 350 yards (320 meters): Orchid Pink (4 balls)
Hooks: US size 7 (1.5 mm) steel crochet hook
S P E C I AL S T I T C H E S
First Popcorn: Ch 4 (count as tr), 4 tr in next ch-sp, drop loop from hook,
insert hook from front into the first tr, pick up dropped loop and draw
through, ch 1 to secure.
Popcorn: 5tr in next ch-sp, drop loop from hook, insert hook from front
into the first tr, pick up dropped loop and draw through, ch 1 to secure.
Ch-5-picot: Ch 5, sl st into the top of the dc just worked.

Attach triangles starting at top row following the diagram.

First Triangle
Ch 6. Make a ring with a sl st into the first ch.
Rnd 1: Ch 6 (count as dc, ch 3) into the ring, (dc, ch 3) in ring 11 times.
End with sl st into the 3rd ch.

Rnd 2: Sl st into the first ch-3-sp, make first popcorn in first ch-3-sp, (ch
5, sc into the next ch-3-sp, ch 5, popcorn in next ch-3-sp) 5 times, ch 5, sc
into the next ch-3-sp, ch 5, sl st into the top of the first popcorn.
Rnd 3: [Ch 4 (count as tr), 3 tr, ch 5, 4 tr) in same sp, [ch 3, dc in next sc,
ch-5-picot, ch 3, sc on top of the next popcorn, ch 3, dc in next sc, ch-5picot, ch 3, (4 tr, ch 5, 4 tr) on top of the next popcorn) twice, ch 3, dc in
next sc, ch-5-picot, ch 3, sc on top of the next popcorn, ch 3, sl st into the
4th ch. Fasten off.

Rest of Triangles
Work same as first triangle until rnd 3.
Rnd 3: [Ch 4 (count as tr), 3 tr, ch 5, 4 tr) in same sp, [ch 3, dc in next sc,
ch 2, sl st into the ch-5-picot of the corresponding triangle, ch 2, sl st into
the top of the dc just worked, ch 3, sc on top of the next popcorn, ch 3, dc
in next sc, ch 2, sl st into the ch-5-picot of the corresponding triangle, ch
2, sl st into the top of the dc just worked, ch 3, (4 tr, ch 5, 4 tr) on top of
the next popcorn) twice, ch 3, dc in next sc, ch-5-picot, ch 3, sc on top of
the next popcorn, ch 3, sl st into the 4th ch. Otherwise work same as rnd 3
of first triangle. Fasten off.

Edging
Row 1: Attach thread to the corner ch-5-sp, [ch 13, sl st into the next ch5-sp twice, ch 13, sl st into the 3rd ch of ch-5-sp] repeat between [ ] to
the bottom point, ch 13, sl st into the same ch-5-sp, work between [ ] until
you reach the point on the other side. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, 13 sc in each of ch-13-sps. Turn.
Row 3: * Ch 1, sk next 3 sc, [(2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next sc, sk next 2
sc] twice, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in next sc, ch 1, sk next 3 sc, sc in next sc;
repeat form * to end. Fasten off.

Shawl Construction
Follow instructions for triangles and follow the diagram for joining
sequence.

Finishing
Weave in all ends.
Block shawl to size.
