HP Insight Control uses one license file. For successful
operation of Insight Control all licenses must be applied to each
managed target system. Depending on your order, the license
file may contain licenses for one or multiple target systems.

Beginning with version 7.2, Insight Control will include the

rights to use Insight Control server provisioning. Insight
Control server provisioning is a new capability for multiserver, physical OS provisioning and server configuration.
Insight Control server provisioning software is not included
on Insight Management media, but can be downloaded from
www.hp.com/go/insightupdates. Insight Control server
provisioning replaces the capability provided by Insight
Control server deployment (RDP).
The Insight Control server deployment (RDP) license is no
longer included with Insight Control. The Insight Control
server deployment licenses can be obtained by purchasing
the Insight Control server deployment standalone license
product. Check with your HP sales representative for
availability.
Insight Management License File: The Insight Management
license file will contain contain a license key for Insight Control
and a license key for ILO Advanced. The Insight Control key
contains hidden sub-keys for Insight Control features.
NOTE: If you purchased Insight Control bundled with a
BladeSystem c-Class enclosure you will receive iLO
Advanced for BladeSystem.
To add keys from the Insight Management license file:
1.

Copy the Insight Management license key file to the server

where Insight Control is installed
2. From HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM), go to Deploy
-> License Manager.
3. Click Add Licenses.
Select Specify a file name and path then specify the path
of the Insight Management license file then click Process
4. When the key details appear, select the license(s) that you
want to add and click Add Licenses Now.
(Note: If you prefer to apply iLO Advanced licenses directly to
the iLO, copy the 5x5 Key String to use in the process
documented later.)

To apply a license to a target system from HP SIM:

Go to Deploy -> License Manager.

Select Insight Control in the Product LicenseInformation
list and then click Manage Licenses.(When applying older
standalone licenses for HP Insight Server Migration
software, HP Insight PowerManager software or HP Insight
Virtual Machine Manager software, select the appropriate
license and then click Manage Licenses.)

Log in to iLO with a user ID that has the Configure iLO

Settings privilege.
Click the Administration tab and then click Licensing.
Enter the 5x5-character license key in the space
provided.
Click Install. The End User License Agreement (EULA)
confirmation displays.
Click OK to accept the terms of the EULA enclosed
with this product. The licensed features are now
enabled.

After HP processes your support registration, you will
receive aService Agreement Identifier (SAID) within your
services welcome letter. To receive software updates that
you are entitled to, you must use your SAID and access the
Software Update and Licensing portal at
