positions no longer exist. In such
cases, the present set up of

Authority/Appellate
Authority/Reviewing Authority i.e.,
where the account is presently
housed, will be the Competent
Authority.
4.
Authority to impose penalty: In terms of Rule 68(1)(ii) of SBI Officers
Service Rules, the Disciplinary Authority or any Authority higher than it may
impose any of the penalties in Rule 67 on an Officer. Provided that where the
Disciplinary Authority is lower in rank than the Appointing Authority in respect
of the category of officers to which the officer belongs, no order imposing
any of the penalties specified in clause (e), (f),(g),(h),(i) & (j) of Rule 67 shall
be made except by the Appointing Authority or any authority higher than it
on the recommendations of the Disciplinary Authority.

Dy. Managing Director & Corporate Development Officer has been
authorised
to
identify
amongst
the
designated
Disciplinary
Authority/Appellate Authority i.e. DGM/GM/CGM, who shall be the
appropriate authority in respect of officers in JMGS I to TEGS VII, under the
rules, where it is not specially provided.
