INTEGRA-MATE
Water Purification Systems
1) System Description
Sin-Can Incs INTEGRA-MATE Reverse Osmosis ( RO ) Water Systems supply
INTEGRA analyzers with a cost-effective, high quality polished Reverse Osmosis
( RO) water.
The INTEGRA-MATE systems are designed to produce RO water directly from city
water supplies and will achieve a resistivity of greater than 5 megohm/cm when
properly operated and maintained. The water quality generated by the INTEGRAMATE systems are greater than ASTM Type II and NCCLS/CAP Type II water.
The INTEGRA-MATE systems consist of two pre filtration devices for city water,
the first being the 20 inch pre filters ( SCMF005-20 ) and ( SCMF001-20 ) which
are located next to the INTEGRA-MATE usually wall mounted. Designed for high
dirt handling capacity and high volume throughput. The second filter is a 10 inch
pre- treatment filter ( SCMF001-10 ) that is mounted at the back of the INTEGRAMATE for final particulate removal, this filter is found on the older models and not
required on the new units manufactured end of 2005 and starting 2006 . The carbon
filter ( PF1C-10 ) located on the front right hand side of the INTEGRA-MATE is for
the removal of particulates, chlorine and organics from the city water supply. This
filter is a specially designed unit with an extremely high chlorine capacity and
very effective in the removal of low molecular weight VOCs. I.e. benzene,
toluene etc.
The filters are selected and have been tested to assure optimal retention
efficiencies and performance in the Integra-mate.

Water Purification Systems
1) System Description ( Continued )
Water passes through the pre filters and carbon filter to the booster pump which
maintains constant pressure on the reverse osmosis membrane ( TFC 150 ) where
the water is separated into product water and reject water. Product water has
approximately 98% of the inorganics and organics above 200 M.W. removed at this
point in the process.
Product water flows into the storage tank and then to the (PC 2000 ) polishing
cartridge located on the left hand side of the Integra-mate Water purification system.
The reject water is sent to the drain from the system via the reject water line ( Black
tubing ). On the First Generation Integra-mate units the reject flow and backpressure
are controlled by a Needle Valve with a pressure gauge.
The new generation of Integra-mate Water systems utilize a specially built flow
restrictor that automatically sets the proper reject to permeate ratios (flow rates)
and backpressure. This eliminates the need to manually set the proper parameters
and eliminates the problem associated with the accidental closing of the reject valve
and destruction or fouling of the RO membrane.
To convert your system to this mode please contact Sin-Can Inc at Tel# 403-2872345 direct, Toll free # 800-565-2345, Fax # 403-287-1355 or Email

1) System Description ( Continued )

The polished water then flows through a tube to a Ball valve, pressure regulator and
a final .22um pharmaceutical grade (validated) sterilizing filter to remove any
bacteria or particulates from the water prior to entrance into the Integra blood
chemistry analyzer.
Note: all components have been specially selected, evaluated and tested for the
optimal performance in the Integra-mate Unit.
The INTEGRA-MATE system incorporates two safety devices which automatically
shut off the booster pump when low pressure conditions are present and when the
reservoir tank is filled. There is also a solenoid valve located at the inlet of the
Integra-mate Unit which operates in conjunction with the booster pump and the
automatic pressure sensors to ensure that the city water is shut off to the system,
when not in operation, to avoid water wastage.

2) Operational Procedures
The INTEGRA-MATE water purification systems are installed in the full
operational mode. The system will automatically start and stop as water is required
to maintain the reservoir tank in a filled condition.
2.1) RO Water Supply to Analyzer
The Integra- mate is connected by from the Demi-Cap filter to the INTEGRA
analyzer via a special LLDP blue feed line tubing. When water is flowing to the
Integra or to a container you can test the RO water quality.
While the unit is in operation and RO water is lowing to the INTEGRA analyzer, or
container push the DI test meter button to test the RO water quality:
2.1.1 Depress the RED button on the PURE D.I. TEST monitor to determine if the
water quality is good ( green light on ) or poor ( red service light is on ).
2.1.2 If water quality is good (green light) release the RED button.
2.1.3 If the PURE D.I. TEST monitor indicates a RED service light, water quality
has dropped below the acceptable level and service is required. Go to
Maintenance Section 3 of this manual.
2.1.4 New model units: Resistivity is read directly from the resistivity meter.
This provides a digital read-out of the water quality.

INTEGRA-MATE
Water Purification Systems
2.1.4 continued:
All new Integra-mate Water systems now incorporate a resistivity meter with
digital read-out of the purity, set-point alarm adjustable with sound and light
alarm indicators as part of the unit.

2.2) Operational Notes

- While the pump is operating ( system is filling ) check the reject water line ( black
tubing ) pressure regulator gauge and determine if the system is operating within
parameters.
- Standard pressure setting should be approximately 80 psig on the reject water line
pressure gauge. This pressure setting may vary, but more than 80 psig consistently
would indicate a problem.
- If the pressure is not within parameters:
- Older models: adjust the reject water pressure by carefully adjusting the brass
needle valve and observing the reject water pressure gauge to the ensure
within the 80 psig range.
-New models: the reject water pressure and the reject to permeate ratios are
automatically set by the New Inline flow restrictor. You do not have to do
anything.

3) Maintenance Procedures
Maintenance of your INTEGRA-MATE water system is critical to
its ability to produce high quality water for your analyzers
operations.
Failure to properly maintain the system will degrade the RO
membrane, produce sub standard water or no water for your
INTEGRA analyzer.

*INTEGRA ANALYZERS: use polished Reverse Osmosis water as a

diluent for all-samples to be analyzed.

3.1) Service Schedule: Change filters
- Pre Filters

SCMF005-20, SCMF001-20, SCMF001-10

2 months (depending on the quality of the feed water and its
particulate and organics composition )
- Carbon Filter:

PF1C-10 : 2 months

- Polishing Filter :PC2000 : 2 months ( 2000 liter life ),

( as indicated by the PURE D.I. TEST monitor OR
RESISTIVITY meter readout. Change when the light
is red or the resistivity falls below 2 meg-ohm . )
- RO Membrane : TFC150: 1 to 3 years,
( when production values fall significantly below the
indicated levels of the systems 150 US gallons / 24
hours or rejection falls below 90% of the feed
water TDS. )
- Final Filter:

:ZEMSB020MMPS3 2 months ( DemiCap )

- Note: Pre filter life will be affected by changes in the feed water quality that
typically takes place during spring breakup. Also any current construction projects
associated with the water supply system, or city water supply in your local area,
will require
more frequent changes of the prefilter. Check pressure differentials between inlet
pressure gauge and middle pressure gauge ( or middle and last pressure gauge )
located on the top of the city water Pre-filter system ( SCMF005-20 /SCMF001-20
).
If the pressure differential is greater than 10 to 15 psig, the filters need to be
changed.

5) Trouble Shooting
Your INTEGRA-MATE water purification system is not prone to operational
problems and most occur due to errors or poor maintenance.
5.1) Basic Check list:
- Is the power to the unit connected and is there actually power at the outlet?
- Is the water turned ON and is there actually any water at your location?
- Is there adequate water pressure to operate the system 20 to 50 psig?
- The system must be connected only to a COLD WATER system or room
temperature D.I. systems, NOT HOT WATER!
- Check that there are no cross connection to a hot water system within the
building.
- Check that the pre filter inlet and reservoir tank valves are open. ( blue handled
valves )
- Determine if the booster pump is operational by placing your hand on the pump
when it is in operation to feel for a slight vibration that indicates that the
booster pump is functional. ( No vibration, no pump operation )
- No water flow from reservoir ( tank valves all open ) reservoir may have lost
pressure check tank pressure gauge. Call SIN - CAN.

5.1) Basic Check list: ( continued )

- If you hear a slight clicking sound then the pre-filters to the RO unit are starting to
plug and the clicking sound is an indicator from the low pressure sensor that you
should change them. This is the SCMF005-20, SCMF001-20, PF1C-10 AND ON
THE OLD MODELS THE SCMF001-10
- If you have no flow to the Integra analyzer make sure that the final .22um filter is
not
air locked. Open the vent ports on the side of the filter element and vent the filter
housing.
- All other problems call SIN - CAN Inc. for assistance 1-800-565-2345
