TONIGHTS STARTING PITCHER: 24-year-old LHP Hobbs Johnson, ranked
No. 29 in the Brewers organization in the latest MLB Pipeline rankings and the No.
4 left-handed pitching prospect...Johnson makes his team-leading 21st start and
4th against the Braves...In the 3 previous, the Rocky Mount, NC native 1-0 with
a 1.59 ERA against the M-Braves, 16 strikeouts, 10 walks and holding them to a
.182 AVG...Johnson is among the Southern League leaders in ERA (10th, 3.31),
opponents average (T-1st with Jorge Lopez, .210) and walks (T-3rd, 51).
ARCIA, TAYLOR GUIDE COMEBACK WIN ON MONDAY: For the 2nd-straight
day, the Shuckers erased a deficit to beat the M-Braves - on Monday, down 3-2
and 4-3, came back to win 5-4 and force a 4th-straight rubber match of a series.
Starter Tyler Wagner turned in his shortest outing as a Shucker, 4.2 IP, 4 H, 3
R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 4 SO, but did not factor into the decision...Wagner had a streak of
4-straight quality starts snapped and for the 6th time in 20 starts wasnt quality.
The Shuckers withstood a pair of go-ahead HRs by the M-Braves, a 3-run shot
by Sean Godfrey in the 5th and solo blast by Levi Hyams in the 7th. The M-Braves
have hit 8 long balls in 7 games at MGM Park and just 20 in the other 104 games.
SS Orlando Arcia was 2-for-4 with a game tying RBI in the 8th inning and RF
Tyrone Taylor was 2-for-4 with 2 runs...The Shuckers took advantage of 2 MBraves errors, leading to runs including the game winner in the 8th.
Reliever Damien Magnifico (1.1, 1 H, 3 BB, SO) earned his 4th win and Yhonathan Barrios (1.0 IP, SO) moved to 3-for-3 in SV opportunities with a 1-2-3 9th.
ANOTHER RUBBER MATCH: Tonight marks the 4th-straight rubber match of a
series in which the Shuckers have lost the first 2 games of a series and won the next
2...are 2-1 in the last 3 rubber games and 5-3 overall this season...havent lost backto-back series since dropping 3 of 5 from MOB and MIS, 4/30-5/4 and 5/6-5/10.

MAVERICKS MONSTER SEASON: OF Brett Maverick Phillips currently
ranks among the minor league leaders in runs (1st, 96), hits (3rd, 143), extra-base
hits (T-3rd, 58), total bases (2nd, 246) and triples (2nd, 13). Between Lancaster
(66g), Corpus Christi (31g) and Biloxi (10g), batting .313, 16 HR, 29 2B, 13 3B,
72 RBI, 15 SB and .378 OBP.
AMAZING ARCIA: Orlando Arcia notched his 38th multi-hit game on Monday and ranks 7th in the SL in batting (.302), T-2nd in hits (121), 1st in 2B
(31), 4th in XBH (41), 3rd in TB (180), 3rd in runs (61).
MAGNIFICENT MAGNIFICO: RHP Damien Magnifico earned his 4th win on
Monday and has converted 14 of 16 saves. The Mesquite, TX native has not allowed
an earned run in his last 11 games (13.0 IP). He ranks T-3rd in the SL in saves.
RBI ROACHE: Victor Roache has 11 RBI in his last 11 games and is currently leading the Brewers farm system with 16 HR and 65 RBI.
DIVISION DOMINANCE: The Shuckers are 42-27 (.603) against South

BACK-TO-BACK FOR LOPEZ: RHP Jorge Lopez was selected as the Brewers
Minor League pitcher of the Month for July. He went 3-2 with a 2.53 ERA (32 IP/9
ER) with 8 walks and 32 strikeouts. Lopez was the award winner in June also.
SHUCKERS ADD THREE FROM BREWERS/ASTROS TRADE: Sunday, the
final 2 pieces of the Brewers/Astros trade reported to Biloxi as LHP Josh Hader
and RHP Adrian Houser were activated. Hader and Houser join their fellow
teammate with AA Corpus Christi, OF Brett Phillips who were acquired along
with OF Domingo Santana (AAA CS) from Houston for OF Carlos Gomez and
RHP Mike Fiers on July 30.
SHUCKERS TO OPEN 2016 SEASON AT MGM PARK: The Shuckers will open
the 2016 season at MGM Park with a 7-game homestand featuring a 5-game series
with Chattanooga (MIN) and 2-game set with Mobile (ARI). Biloxi plays 70 games at
home, 70 on the road - 85 games vs. South Division opponents and 55 against the
North Division...Pensacola appears on the schedule more than anyone at 25 times
(10H, 15R) and Biloxi faces the in-state M-Braves 20 times (10H, 10R).
SUBERO TO MANAGE SURPRISE IN AFL: Biloxi skipper Carlos Subero will
manage the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League. Surprise will feature top
prospects from the Brewers, Royals, Yankees, Rangers and Cardinals organizations.
ARCIA TOPS NEW MLB PIPELINE BREWERS PROSPECT RANKING:
MLBPipeline unveiled its new Milwaukee Brewers prospect rankings and Biloxi
has 9 of the top-30 including the top spot in SS Orlando Arcia (also #14 in all of
MLB). The Shuckers boast: Arcia (1), OF Brett Phillips (2), OF Tyrone Taylor
(5), RHP Jorge Lopez (9), LHP Josh Hader (15), RHP Tyler Wagner (16), OF

SHUCKERS WIN MIDSEASON MILBY FOR BEST TEAM IN MILB: MiLB.
com handed out midseason awards on Friday and the Shuckers took home
Best Team for their first half performance and South Division crown, going
43-25 in the half and securing a playoff berth.

That officially ended Mobiles 3-year run of South first half titles. The Shuckers

BILOXI BASEBALL HISTORY: Pro baseball is not totally new to the Gulf Coast, but it is the first since 1908. The
Gulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.
Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewers
of the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.

Todays Start: 24-year-old Hobbs Johnson makes his 20th start of the 2015 season in the rubber
match against the Mississippi Braves. The North Carolina alum has recorded just two quality starts this
season, but has allowed more than three earned runs just three times in 2015.
Last Outing: Johnson suffered his fifth loss of the season in the rubber match against the Mobile
BayBears on August 6. In his second consecutive start of just four innings, the southpaw allowed just one
run on three hits, three walks and six strikeouts.
vs. Mississippi: Tuesday will be Johnsons fourth starts against the Braves in 2015. The 511 hurler
has found suuccess against the M-Braves this year, yielding just four runs - three earned - in 17.0 IP, while
holding Mississippi to a .182 average.
2015: The lefty allowed 4 runs - 3 earned - over 6.1 innings over spring training, adding 3 walks and 2
strikeouts... Named Southern League midseason All-Star.
2014: Was among the Florida State League leaders in opponent batting average (2nd, .221),
wins (T3rd, 12), ERA (4th, 2.93) and innings pitched (4th, 147.2).
2013: Split his first pro season between Rookie Helena and Class-A Wisconsin, posting a combined 0.86
ERA in 11 relief appearances (21 IP, 32 SO).

COACHING STAFF
Subero, 42, begins his second season in the Brewers organization as manager at the Double-A level. Subero led the Huntsville Managing Career
Team
Stars to a 77-63 record and a postseason berth last season.
GCL Rangers
Prior to joining the Brewers, Subero managed five seasons in
the Dodgers organization at Class-A Inland Empire (2009), Double-A Chattanooga (2010-12) and Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
(2013). He led the Lookouts to the playoffs in 2011 after clinching
the Southern Leagues second-half North Division title with a 4227 record after the All-Star break.
During his only season as a manager in the White Sox organization, Subero led Double-A
Birmingham to a 74-63 record and a Southern League playoff berth in 2008.
Subero began his coaching career in the Rangers organization, including two seasons as
hitting coach with the Rookie Gulf Coast League Rangers (1999-2000) and seven seasons
as manager with the GCL Rangers (2001-02), Class-A Clinton (2003-05) and Class-A Bakersfield (2006-07). His clubs reached the postseason in each of his three seasons with Clinton. Subero owns a 798-849 (.485) record over 13 seasons as a
minor-league manager.
