INTRODUCTION
Inline with the scouting month celebration of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, the
Jose P. Dizon Elementary School conducted a tree planting activity held at San Ignacio,
Brgy. Pandan, last October 27, 2014. The program was for a green environment. By
doing this activity the BSP members will discover awareness on the importance of tree
planting, and establish a connection to nature and while learning what they can contribute
to save the future. Thus, like trees freshly planted, their work will pay forward the
investment for years to come. Furthermore, this activity raises the value of friendship,
unity, and cooperation. Finally, this three-hour tree planting activity is also our way of
addressing disaster risk reduction and mitigating the effects of climate change.
II. TREE PLANTING
The school's BSP unit first assembled at the school campus at exactly 6:30 in the
morning for the checking of the attendance and seedlings. We arrived at the venue at
exactly 7:00, there we assembled our gardening tools, after that we get the seedlings to be
planted. We planted the seedlings after that we put tree guards and last we watered the
seedlings. The tree planting activity was successfully done, we totally planted 43
seedlings. The tree planting ended at exactly 10:00. Now we hope that every community
will be green because of the trees.
III. CONCLUSION
Anyone, of any age, can protect the environment. In fact, I am encouraging everyone
to start saving Mother Earth as early as possible before its too late, even in simple ways.
Nothing can ever be small or insignificant when it comes to environmental protection.
