PRODUCT
McWILLIAM Fluorescent Dayglow orange windsocks are approved under ICAO
Annex 14.5.1.1.3 for 'Wind Direction Indicators at Aerodromes.' The unique fabric
we use is specially woven and dyed Polyester Sailcloth. It has been developed during
our 30 years experience in the harsh marine environment. This material ensures that
our Dayglow orange windsocks are highly visible and fade resistant.
McWILLIAM Windsocks are also rot resistant, and are proven to last longer than
nylon in all weather conditions.

sewing threads because of its unsatisfactory
Ultra Violet resistance in sunlight. Only the
best marine grade materials are used in

Dayglow Orange is the colour used internationally, and the fade rate must be minimised by the use of
jet dying the fabric. This is uniquely undertaken for the POLYESTER Dayglow material used in
McWilliam Windsocks.
The POLYESTER material is woven specially to our specification for windsock use. Nylon is
unsuitable because it fades and rots rapidly due to UV degradation in sunlight. This is especially seen
in the Middle East, Far East, North Africa and Central America.
Only McWilliam Windsocks are made from the above materials and processes which are specially
undertaken for our own windsocks.
All our windsocks are designed and made using CAD/CAM technology to assure consistency of shape
and size.
