HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 64-66; Romans 14
Monday, August 3

Matt. 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 67-69; Romans 15
Tuesday, August 4

Matt. 1:21 for he shall save his people from their sins.

Jesus, Lord and Savior:

You are precious. Therefore everything connected to you is precious to me.
Psa. 45:8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory
palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
Everything attached to you is sweetened by your character, so I cannot help
but loving it. There is not a word you have uttered or a thought you have
revealed that is not precious beyond price. This is truly a priceless present.
Your names are all sweet in my ear, but make them sweet to my lost friends
as well! You are my Husband, Bridegroom and Friend. You are the Lamb for
sinners slain. You are the King, Prophet and Priest. You are Shiloh and
Emmanuel, Wonderful and the Mighty Counselor. Become all these things to
__________ and to __________, because they do not yet know you!
If one name is sweeter than another it is the name JESUS. The name Jesus is
woven into the fabric of redemption. It is the embroidered monogram on the
robe of salvation. Many hymns begin with your name because it is the sum total
of our deliverance from sin, from Satan, from Hell, and from the grave. It is truly
a song in a worda matchless oratorio in only two syllables. It combines the
hallelujahs of the ages in only five letters. It is true, sonic music of the night.
My Jesus I love Thee, I know Thou art mine,
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign;
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, tis now.
Help some poor lost soul make that their prayer today, because Jesus is
worthy of their praise! Amen.

Jesus, Lord, Savior and Master:

When I ask people if they understand the gospel and about getting saved
they may say, It means being saved from Hell. But in reality that is just a tithe
of everything included in what you purchased on the cross.
I thank you Lord, for redeeming me from the wrath to come. Claim many
more souls even this week as we approach the coming fall. Save them from the
condemnation their sin brings on them. But then Lord, show them how much
further your triumph goes than just that.
You save us from our sins. That is a deliverance from my worst enemy!
Throw Satan off his throne and let him not be my master any longer. Help every
saved person understand if sin still reigns then they need a fuller salvation.
Gal. 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and
these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Sin will still be in meand it will never be entirely expelledbut it will not
have dominion over me. There is right now a fight for control, the new law and
the new Spirit you implanted, lusting against the flesh I was born with. But sin
will never again have the upper hand so as to be absolute monarch of my nature.
Oh, but Lord, __________ and __________ are so trapped in their sins!
They are controlled and completely mastered. Unleash the Lion of the tribe of
Judah to prevail. May they make Christ their Master so sin can be mortified.
Their life will remain unholy as long as their heart is unchanged. Cast the
Dragon out and save them by the gospel! Give them a new hatred of sin and a
new love for holiness, because your grace is able to do that. Lord, save me
from evil today and allow me to exalt my Savior! Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 73-75; 1Corinthians 1
Thursday, August 6

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 76-78; 1Corinthians 2
Friday, August 7

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow
rivers of living water.

NOTHING between my soul and my Savior,

Naught of this worlds delusive dream;
I have renounced all sinful pleasure;
Jesus is mine, theres nothing between.
Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;
Habits of life, though harmless they seem;
Must not my heart from Him ever sever;
He is my all, theres nothing between.
Nothing between, like pride or station;
Self or friends shall not intervene;
Though it may cost me much tribulation,
I am resolved, theres nothing between.
Nothing between, een many hard trials,
Though the whole world against me convene;
Watching with prayer and much self denial,
Ill triumph at last, theres nothing between.
Charles A. Tindley, 1905

1 Tim. 2:2 [Pray] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a
quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
Holy Father:
Today, lead someone to trust you. Be so revealed wherever you lead us, that
other men and women can look to you and live. Oh, that even one person in our
churchin our services this Sundaymight not leave still yet unsaved. If they
have been apathetic to the gospel and never considered the certainty of salvation,
make them see it clearly this week. We pray they will accept the finished work of
the cross as the rock on which they can build their life.
So many people today trust in their wealth. Others trust in their education,
their vocation, their talent, or their station in life. Bring them to see there is
nothing worth the confidence of their immortal soul except the ever-living God
and what you provide us in Christ Jesus. May many hearts end their weary
wandering, sit still at Jesus feet, and see the salvation of the Lord!
Lord, bless our country at this time. Multiply faith in the land even through
tragic events, shooters and injustice. Preserve our leaders at this critical time.
Guide the deliberations of their advisers. Guide our choices in elections. Preserve
our peace, and at the same time may your great purposes regarding the spread of
the gospel to distant shores and distant peoples be served by every decision of
our government. Release our world from the bondage of evil rulers. We pray for
the peace of Jerusalem even as we look for the soon return of your Son.
Yes Father, hasten his coming! Let us hear the shout of the archangel and
the trump of God to Come up hither, and be where you are. May our choices lead
us higher, and make us trust you in the deepest, darkest hour. Do it to honor
your Son Jesus, because we ask it in his name and according to your will. Amen.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 70-72; Romans 16
Wednesday, August 5

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon
each of them.
O God, send us the Holy Ghost!
Give us both the breath of spiritual life and the fire of unconquerable zeal.
O Thou art our God, answer us by fire, we pray Thee! Answer us both by fresh
wind and fresh fire, for then we shall see Thee to be God indeed.
O, my Father! The kingdom comes not, and the work is flagging. O, that
Thou wouldst send the wind and the fire once again! Thou wilt do this when we
are all of one accord, all believing, all expecting, all prepared by prayer.
Lord, bring us to that waiting state! God, send us a season of glorious
disorder. Bring us to the end of ourselves so we can see the beginning of your
work. Oh, for a sweep of the wind that will set the seas in motion, and make our
ironclad brethren, now lying so quietly at anchor, roll from stem to stern!
O, for the fire to fall againfire that shall affect the most unresponsive
among us! O, that such fire might first sit on the disciples, and then fall upon all
who are around! O God, Thou art ready to work with us today even as Thou
didst then. Stay not, we beseech Thee, but work at once.
Break down every barrier that hinders the incoming of Thy might! Give us
now both hearts of flame and tongues of fire to preach thy reconciling word in
the gospel, for Jesus sake! Amen!
C. H. Spurgeon
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 79-81; 1Corinthians 3
Saturday, August 8

Psa. 115:13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
Lord Who Indwells My Life:
What a word of cheer to the working man and working woman! I can have
small property, small talent, small influence and small weight, but if I fear God
then your blessing is within my budget. I know you care for the smallest things in
creation, because Jesus told me you attended the funeral of a sparrow. Thank you
Lord, that I am not too small for you. And thank you for making use of such an
insignificant agent as me to accomplish your purpose. Bless my weakness and
make my small field fruitful.
I ask the same for my friends in the faith at our church. Some are babies
and some are giants, but let them fear and so be blessed with your grace today.
Make our little faith a blessed faith. Make our trembling hope a blessed hope.
Make every grace of the Holy Spirit, though we now only see it in the bud, bear a
blossom of blessing within.
The same precious blood bought both the small and the great. You save the
lambs as well as full-grown sheep. Just like no parent overlooks a child because of
being small, help me not to overlook anyone you want to hear the gospel today
from my lips. The smaller they are, then the more tender make me. Maybe you do
show a preference Lord, but it does not start with the great and work down to
the small. It starts with the little.
Luke 9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name
receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among
you all, the same shall be great.
Please Sir, I desire to be great! So make me the minister of all, and
especially a servant of the gospel of Christ. In Jesus name I ask it. Amen.

INSTRUCTIONS:

!
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

MONDAY
NO Proverbs & Prayer lunch meeting until Sept 14th, BUT...

hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

"! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
"! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
"! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.

Dont make excuses; make a difference!

Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

!
Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
