Content Standard:
1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words
and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation.
Learning Standard:

1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing
songs with guidance.

Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, pupis should be able to:
1. Listen to, understand and act out the actions of a story
( stamp, clap, snap and snore).
2. Talk about the actions and characters in the story.
Activities:
1. Teacher introduces pupils to a video clip of the song (Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes)
and gets them to watch and listen.
2. Pupils listen to a simple story and act out the actions shown by teacher.
3. Pupils talk about the characters and actions made by the characters with guidance from
the teacher.
4. Teacher divides pupils into groups based on the animal characters in the story.
5. Teacher says aloud the actions (stamp, clap, snap and snore) and the related groups do
the actions.
6. Teacher narrates the story and when it comes to the actions, pupils say aloud the actions
and act them out.

2.2.1 Able to read and apply word recognition and word attack skills by matching words
with: graphics.
Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, pps. should be able to:
Blend phonemes into words based on pictures, spell and pronounce correctly.
Activities:
1. Teacher introduces pupils to a song about actions (TB pg. 29) and sings the song.
2. Teacher replaces the actions in the song and shows the picture cards and gets pupils to
sing the song with different actions.
3. Teacher divides pupils. into groups and recalls the words and phonemes that pupils have
learnt through Wheel of Sounds game (TB pg. 30)
4. Pupils play the game (segment the words into phonemes based on the pictures) by rolling
the dice group activity.
5. Teacher guides pupils throughout the game.
6. Pupils spell and say aloud all the words from the game together with guidance from the
teacher.

1. Teacher engages pupils in Simon Says game (focus on parts of the body and
movements) e.g. Simon saystouch your nose.
2. Teacher recalls the contents from the previous lesson by asking pupils to spell and
pronounce certain words. Teacher shows or draws the pictures.
3. Pupils spell and pronounce the words with guidance.
4. Pupils complete the exercises from the activity book.

Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, pps. should be able to:
1. Listen to and enjoy the song If You Are Happy and You Know It.
2. Sing the song with body language.
3. Identify the actions (in action game).
Activities:
1. Teacher introduces pupils to the song and gets them to listen and enjoy it.
2. Pupils learn to sing the song paying attention to the actions.
3. Teacher guides pupils to sing the song with actions.
4. Teacher divides pupils into groups, each group is assigned with an action from the song.
5. Each group takes turn to sing the song according to their action.
6. Pupils play a simple game on actions (teacher sets up several check points and pastes
the picture of an action at each check point).
7. Pupils go to each check point, say the action aloud and perform the action.
8. Teacher guides pupils throughout the activity.
