ABSTRACT

Cloud computing is an evolving technology that offers on demand, network access to

shared pool of resources. Data sharing is also one of the important service of the cloud storage.
Along with the several advantages the cloud computing also brings several security risks.
Cryptographic operation is commonly used solution to avoid the security risks in cloud. For this
purpose the Attribute Based Encryption technique is used, because this technique provides
efficiency, security and flexibility as compared to the other techniques. Attribute Based
Encryption is a public key based one to many encryption that allows user to encrypt and decrypt
data based on the user attributes. The Attribute Based Encryption is flexible access control of
encrypted data stored in the cloud, using access policies and specified attributes associated with
private keys and ciphertexts.
Robert H. Deng et al. proposed Multi-message Cipher text Policy Attribute Based
Encryption technique to encrypt the data before storing into the cloud. This approach provides
access control in content sharing services to empower users to enforce access control on their
data directly, rather than through a central administrator. But the problem is decryption process is
slow for the low end devices because modular exponentiation operations are required.
The proposed system is to solve this problem, ABE system with outsourced decryption
that largely eliminates the decryption overhead for users. In this system, a user provides an
untrusted server such as a cloud service provider, with a transformation key that allows the cloud
to translate any ABE cipher text satisfied by that users attributes or access policy into a simple
cipher text, and it offers a small computational overhead for the user to recover the plaintext
from the transformed cipher text.
