(Peshitta is pronounced Pe-sheet-a)

New Testament scholarship is about to undergo a paradigm shift of monumental proportions. The Aramaic language
has already been established as the language of Jesus of Nazareth and of his apostles and countrymen of first century
Israel. A bit more study of Josephus will reveal that Greek was not the native language of Israel, nor was it a second
language in Israel, and that Aramaic was not only the native tongue of the Jews in Israel and of the Diaspora
throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia, but Aramaic had been established as the language of commerce
throughout the Middle East, northern Africa, Asia and Europe for at least seven centuries, starting with the Assyrian,
Babylonian and Persian Empires and continuing through the Greek and Roman Empires until the Muslim conquests
of the 7th century AD, when Arabic began to replace Aramaic in most places in the Middle East and Asia.
Considering these facts, along with the fact that all the Gentile churches founded by the Apostle Paul were started
with Jewish converts to whom Paul preached the resurrected Lord Messiah Yeshua in the town synagogues, where
Paul always attended on his missionary journeys and took the opportunity to preach the Gospel to his fellow Jews in
the common Judean Aramaic they shared, wherever he went. The Greek NT was a later translation work to provide
the Greek speaking Gentile Christians of the Western Roman Empire in Europe.
The famous historian Josephus, a first century Jew of Israel, former Pharisee and son of a Priest, clearly revealed
that the Jewish people did not speak or understand Greek, and that Josephus himself, after studying Greek
assiduously for many years could not speak Greek in conversation, as he was too familiar with his native tongue and
unused to hearing Greek. He also revealed that I have proposed to myself, for the sake of such as live under the
government of the Romans, to translate those books into the Greek tongue, which I formerly composed in the
language of our country, and sent to the Upper Barbarians: This term Upper Barbarians he elsewhere specifies as
the Parthians, Babylonians, remote Arabians, the Jews beyond Euphrates, Adiabeni (Assyrians). William
Whistons translation notes also explain further: These Parthians, Babylonians, remote Arabians, the Jews beyond
Euphrates, Adiabeni (Assyrians) understood Josephus Hebrew, or rather Chaldaic, books of the Jewish War, before
they were put into the Greek language. Chaldaic or Chaldean is an old term meaning the Aramaic of
Chaldea.
Josephus Wars of the Jews would be the historical model for an original work produced in 1st century Israel under
the Roman Empire. First, the work would be written in Aramaic for the people of Israel and for Syria, Parthia
(Persia), Arabians, the scattered Jews throughout the world, Babylonians (where Iraq is today), Assyrians (parts of
Syria,Iraq,Iran). Later the work would be translated into Greek for the Romans of the Western Empire. This would
hold for the entire New Testament, since the Epistles, as well as the Gospels were written to the Jew first, and also
to the Gentile (Rom. 1:16). All the churches were founded with Jewish believers at first, and even most Gentile
believers were Aramaic speakers. The Peshitta reading of Rom. 1:16 For I am not ashamed of The Gospel,
because it is the power of God for the life of all who believe in it, whether of The Judeans first, or of the
Aramaeans - effectively supports the premise that Aramaic was the ideal language in which to propagate the
Gospels and other New Testament scriptures in the first century Cradle of Civilization and beyond. An Aramaean is
a Gentile Aramaic speaker, which would have included all the Parthians, Babylonians, Syrians, Northern Arabians,
many South-Western Asians and many Egyptians. Even books like Romans and Corinthians were written primarily
to Jews (see Rom. 2:17-4:1, 7:1-9:10; 1 Cor 1:24; 9:1-10:1) who spoke Aramaic and to Aramaeans who also spoke
Aramaic.
I have documented that the Greek New Testament is a translation of the Peshitta Aramaic New Testament in over
200 pages of textual notes in my translation of the Peshittas Aramaic text. I show hundreds of readings from
Matthew to Revelation, comparing the Greek to Aramaic readings where they differ and graphically illustrate how a
Greek translator read and translated 1st century Aramaic writing by using Dead Sea Scroll Aramaic-Hebrew script,
sometimes misreading just one Aramaic letter and thus translating an Aramaic word or phrase as another very
different Aramaic word and rendering an incorrect Greek translation in that place.

Another evidence for Peshitta primacy (the view of the Peshitta as the original New Testament) is Bible codes.
Bible codes are long messages hidden in the original languages of the Bible found by computer decryption software
which searches for terms by skipping a certain number of Bible text letters for each consecutive letter in the search
term. Many of such long messages have been found in the Hebrew Old Testament Bible; to date, no such long
messages have been found in the Greek New Testament, even after a team of Greek scholars searched for four years
in the several Greek NT editions available. I have found six long coded messages in the Peshitta NT text (1905
Syriac Peshitta NT) which is a critical edition collated from over 80 Aramaic NT manuscripts. This edition is the
one edition most commonly found on the internet and contains all 27 NT books. All these codes are sentences in
Hebrew or Aramaic at least 25 letters long; most are much longer. The program Codefinder was used to search for
all the codes. Codefinder is the most sophisticated, fastest and well featured commercial program of its kind. It will
search any Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek or English term in any of a number of optional Bible and non Bible and control
texts offered, including the King James Version and Moby Dick for English searches, several Greek NTs, two
Hebrew Bible editions, and two Peshitta NT versions. Codefinder will display the results of a search and also
present statistical analysis of any code found in the form of a probability estimate, based on the search text size, the
term length and the numbers of each letter of the alphabet used in the search term, in the search text. The shortest
code I found is 25 letters in length. The longer the search term found, the lower the probability, in general. The
probability for the shortest code (also called an ELS- Equidistant Letter Sequence) is calculated by Codefinders
complex statistical formula is 1 in 100 million trillion. In scientific notation it is 10-20. In decimal form it is
0.00000000000000000001. Each code letter is separated from the next or previous letter by skipping 18,474 letters
of Aramaic Bible text. To give some idea, the Peshitta Gospel of Mark contains 16 chapters and 36,326 Aramaic
letters. 18,474 letters is about 8 chapters of Bible text between each consecutive letter of the code term. Exactly
18,474 letters are skipped 24 times in order to find the shortest 25 letter code, from the first letter to the last.

contrary to almost all popular Bible scholarship pronouncements and dogma that proclaims the original
NT to be Greek. I performed a scientific experiment to validate my findings of the six long codes, which
took a year to complete and validate, with the help of professional mathematician and former fellow of
the worlds largest accounting firm, Price Water House Cooper - Ed Sherman. Ed is a former Bible Code

since, to my knowledge.

So how is the Peshitta like the Hubble Telescope? It gives much more detail, clarifies what is obscure in the Greek,
magnifies and pulls in what was previously invisible in the heavens, removes earths atmospheric interference
(Greek translation errors) from the picture and reveals the brilliance, majesty and full spectrum of the glory of God
contrasted to the black, white and many grey images of the Greek NT.
Let me illustrate. The following is my translation of the Peshitta Aramaic NT in the left column alongside the World
English Bible which is translated from the Greek NT.

But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the
waves, for the wind was contrary. In the fourth watch of the night,
Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw
him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "Its a ghost!"
and they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them,
saying "Cheer up! It is I! Dont be afraid." Peter answered him and
said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the
waters." He said, "Come!" Peter stepped down from the boat, and
walked on the waters to come to Jesus. But when he saw that the
wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out,
saying, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out his
hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why
did you doubt?" When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
Those who were in the boat came and worshipped him, saying,
"You are truly the Son of God!"

Notice particularly the contrast between the two translations in these two verses:
But Yeshua immediately spoke with them and he said, Take heart;
I AM THE LIVING GOD. Do not be afraid. And Kaypha
answered and he said to him, My Lord, if you are He, command
me to come unto you on the water.

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! It is I!


Dont be afraid." Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you,
command me to come to you on the waters."

There is a considerable difference between Take heart; I AM THE LIVING GOD and Cheer up! It is I!, as there is a big difference
between My Lord, if you are He, command me to come unto you on the water, and "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the
waters."
I will not go into the linguistic technicalities involved in the vastly different Western non Semitic Greek and the Eastern Semitic Aramaic
languages and cultures, but I will simply point out that Yeshua (Jesus from Latin) used an Aramaic two word phrase which occurs 223 times in
the Aramaic Old Testament and in 219 cases is the utterance of God as he introduces himself to a human: I am God, I am Jehovah, I am The
Lord God of your fathers, etc. In the NT there are 44 ena na occurrences; 36 of these are plainly attributed to God The Father or Jesus; 3 of
them are the claims of false prophets to be God The Messiah or simply God The Father. One is John The Baptists denial to be God The Messiah:
Not I AM The Messiah!That leaves 4 that are attributed to mortal men or an angel, the same number found in the Old Testament.
The first occurrence is in the above passage in Matthew 14.
According to the Peshitta (pronounced Pe-sheet-a) Aramaic text, Jesus said, Take heart, I am God. Do not be afraid. According to the Greek
text, he said, Cheer up! Its me! According to the Peshitta, Kaypha (Peter is the Latin translation of Kaypha which is Aramaic for stone)
responded- My Lord, if you are He, command me to come unto you on the water, which means If you are God, command me to come to you
on the water. The Greek has no such meaning, only- Lord, if it is you, command me to come unto you on the water. Peter and the others did
not believe at this point that Jesus was divine. They had not yet been shown that fact, and even Peters faith after the statement and miracle of his
walk on the water was small and weak, but this was a turning point for him and the other disciples. After this miraculous encounter at sea, those
who were in the ship came and they worshiped him, and they said, Truly, you are The Son of God!" The disciples had seen Jesus do many
miracles before, including his feeding over ten thousand people in the wilderness with five loaves and two fish. Never did they confess him to be
The Son of God until this time. Shimeon Kaypha (Simon Peter in Latin) later confessed Yeshua to be the Messiah The Son of The Living
God, which probably was as close as he could legally come to pronouncing the name of God in public, given that the Jewish people were
apparently forbidden to speak the sacred name publically. Jesus apparently never observed that ban. Eventually Jesus would be arrested after
identifying himself as God before hundreds of Jewish soldiers, and would be sentenced to death by crucifixion in the Supreme Court of Israel by
uttering the same Aramaic phrase.

Aside from the distinctively non Semitic Greek spellings of many Hebrew and Aramaic names of Old Testament and New Testament people of
Israel, there is a glaring problem with the Greek genealogy of Matthew 1, and that is that the numbers of generations stated in verse 17 does not
match the numbers of names in each of the three designated sections of the genealogy, particularly the third group of generations from the
captivity in Babylon to Jesus. It is stated to be 14 generations, but it is 13 generations. The other two groups of generations are 14 generations, as
advertised. No amount of double counting first or last names in any list can fix this problem, and all Greek editions agree on the 13 generations in
the 3rd list of names.
Some will simply dismiss this as a technical error of no consequence. Who cares if a number is wrong?, some will say. Think about it. The
New Testament, which is supposed to be the word of God, starts out on page one with a genealogy of the Messiah in which one of the stated
numbers of generations in each of the three lists comprising that genealogy is incorrect. And the number is not a big unwieldy number, but the
number 14! Most six year olds could count that correctly.Thats a fine introduction to the divinely inspired New Testament and Gospel of The
Son of God! So whats the problem? How can we explain this error?

You can notice that the Original Aramaic NT in Plain English has in verse 16: Yaqob begot Yoseph the guardian of Maryam. This is quite
different from the Greek text which unequivocally has And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary. The Aramaic text has the word gavra to
describe Jacobs son Joseph, gavra of Maryam. This word has several possible meanings: man, mighty man, husband, guardian,
master. The Aramaic reading makes it likely that the genealogy of Matthew 1 is not the genealogy of Joseph, Marys husband, as the Greek text
has it, but rather the genealogy of Mary, Mother of Jesus, the daughter of Joseph Bar Jacob! That would also supply the missing generation by
noting that Joseph named in verse 16 is not Marys husband, but her father, and so, according to the Aramaic text, Joseph Bar Jacob is generation
12, Mary is generation 13 and Jesus is generation 14. It would also mean that Lukes genealogy in Luke 3 is not Marys genealogy, but Josephs,
her husband! And that is borne out beautifully in the Aramaic text of Luke 3: But Yeshua was about thirty years old, and he was considered the
son of Yoseph, son of Heli, Son of Matthat, son of Levi, etc.. The Greek of Luke 3 lacks the word son after the first verse of the genealogy; the
Aramaic text has the word Bar son 76 times!. The Greek omission of the word son for every generation before Jesus gives commentators
wiggle room to play with in making Joseph the son in law to Heli instead of his son, and so they make this Marys genealogy, and Mat. 1
becomes her husband Josephs! This really confuses matters!

etc. That is how a mans name was expressed in Israel at the time- Joseph Bar Heli- he was Joseph son of Heli. Jesus was considered (very
important comment) Yeshua Bar Yoseph. The Greek text leaves out son after Jesus son of Joseph for every name in the genealogy! This
leaves a lot of ambiguity, especially in a genealogy of such importance as that of The Messiah, The Son of God! The consequence of these
omissions here and the mistranslation in Matthew ones genealogy is that scholars have reversed the identity of the two genealogies, making this
one Marys, which is really her husband Josephs, and making the Matthew one genealogy Josephs, which is really Marys!
Sort that out for a while. Such confusion and error at the very beginning and foundation of the New Testament has had great ramifications
historically, doctrinally, psychologically and spiritually for the western church and its approach to scripture and the Christian faith for almost two
thousand years. One step on the way to set right the damage done is to return to the true original New Testament text which presents itself as The
Writing of The Spirit: Every writing which is written by The Spirit is profitable for teaching, for correction, for direction and for a course in
righteousness, that the man of God will be perfect and perfected for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16

I will give one more telling comparison of the Aramaic and the Greek NT which demonstrates how Christianity has been subtly and almost
universally subverted from its original faith in the Divine purity, power and inerrancy of the New Testament and of all Scripture to a very
humanistic and rationalistic approach to the Bible which requires practically no faith at all to accept.

The Peshitta Aramaic New Testament is the Original New Testament

Physician Luke is here explaining briefly his reason and his credentials for writing his Gospel. Notice in the World English Bible translation of
the Greek NT, which I have chosen to represent the Greek text, as it faithfully represents that text and agrees generally with most translations of
the Greek and is a modern English version. In this, Luke is represented as saying: it seemed good to me also, having traced the course of all
things accurately from the first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus
Why did Luke write his Gospel? It seemed good to me.
Contrast this with the Aramaic text: He appeared also to me. Who appeared to Luke? The Word, He appeared to me! Anyone who has
read Johns Gospel knows Who The Word is. He is Jesus The Lord, The Son of God, The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, Who is also God(see John 1:1-3, 14).
Here is my note for Luke 1:3 from my NT translation The Original Aramaic NT in Plain English:
He appeared is the most natural meaning of Ethkhazay and would refer to the previous word -atlmd
of the Word. Luke is saying that The Lord Yeshua The Messiah had appeared to him and had authorized and directed his writing of this
Gospel. Why would it be received otherwise? If Luke merely thought it good to write, why would the churches have put it on a par with the
inspired Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke? He would have been merely rehashing second hand information and serving warmed up leftovers.
That is no recommendation worthy of an inspired Gospel of The New Testament. Theophila, to whom Luke wrote, would have thrown it in the
trash if that were Lukes meaning. Verse 2 says the other gospels were written by eyewitnesses. Verse three says Luke was also an eyewitness
of The Messiah. If he were not, then he would be disqualified to write a gospel. It would seem that Western churches, in their misunderstanding
of Lukes introduction, have allowed scholarship to supplant Divine inspiration as its authority. This has subtly and slowly supplanted the
Spiritual with the intellectual, which Luke the Physician has come to represent. He was not writing a literary composition here; he was writing
from God, just as every other God inspired writer of scripture wrote: 1Co 2:13 Which things we also speak; not in the teaching of the words
of mans wisdom, but in the teaching of The Spirit; and we compare spirituals with spirituals. 2Pe 1:21 For at no time was it by the
pleasure of man, that the prophecy came; but holy men of God spoke, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Would an inspired writer say, I thought I would write a Gospel account because many others were writing accounts like those the apostles
were writing? That would be the height of presumption. Would he then suppose that he would improve on the inspired accounts?- It seemed
good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent
Theophilus This is the King James translation, which demonstrates here the presumptive attitude attributed to Luke. This is a very poor
translation of the Greek of verse 3, but all translations get it wrong in the first word of the verse, which is the most critical: It seemed good.
That is because the Greek has the verb edoxen from dokeo-(to seem). The Aramaic verb Ethkhazay -(He appeared) yzxta could
mean seemed, but its usual meaning is appeared or was seen. This passive form of the Aramaic yzx- Khaza (to see) occurs 29
times in the Peshitta NT. 18 times Murdock translates it appeared, 7 times- seen, three times received sight and once (here in Luke 1:3)
(incorrectly, in my opinion)- seemed.
I repeat this excerpt from the above note, because I feel it is extremely important that we consider this essential difference between the ancient
Eastern and the modern Western approach to Christianity and Scripture:

The Peshitta Aramaic New Testament is the Original New Testament

You owe it to yourself to read this translation of the ancient Aramaic Peshitta New Testament and decide for yourself whether you have been
given opportunity to receive the whole truth of the original New Testament or you have been restricted to an original Greek NT which is
actually a fallible and flawed translation of the original. I am not claiming my translation is infallible. No translation is infallible. I am claiming
that we have been sold a bill of goods in accepting Greek as the language of the original New testament and Greek manuscripts as the
representatives of that original, for any of the NT books. I am claiming, with abundant supporting evidence, that the Aramaic Peshitta NT is the
New Testament that God wrote.
