Ifyouareinstallingonahostthathasmultiplehostnames,youneedtopassthefullyqualifiedhostnameusing
ORACLE_HOSTNAMEargument.Ensurethatthehostnamedoesnotcontainanunderscore"_"otherwisetheinstallation
mightfail.

YoushouldnotinstallOMSonaNFSmounteddrive.However,ifyouareforcedtoinstallonsuchashareddrive,specify

2.EnterMyOracleSupportDetails

(Optional)EnteryourmyOracleSupportcredentialstoenableOracleConfigurationManager.Ifyoudonotwantto
enableOCM,untickthecheckbox"Iwishtoreceivesecurityupdates".
IfthehostfromwhereyouarerunningtheinstallationwizarddoesnothaveaconnectiontoInternet,thenonly
entertheemailaddress.Aftercompletingtheinstallation,manuallycollecttheconfigurationinformationand
uploadittoMyOracleSupport.

3.InstallSoftwareUpdates

Selectoneofthefollowingsourcesfromwherethesoftwareupdatescanbeinstalled.Ifyoudonotwanttoapply
themnow,thenselectSkip.
(Recommended)SelectSearchforUpdates,andthen,select"LocalDirectory"ifyouhavemanuallydownloadedthe
softwareupdatestoanaccessiblelocation.Enterthelocationwheretheupdatesareavailable,andclickSearchfor
Updates.
SelectSearchforUpdates,andthen,selectMyOracleSupportifyouwanttheinstallertoconnecttoMyOracle
Supportandautomaticallydownloadtheupdatesfromthere.
EntertheMyOracleSupportaccountusernameandpassword,andclickSearchforUpdates.
4.EntertheOracleInventoryDetails
ThisscreenwillappearonlyifthisisyourfirsteverinstallationofanOracleproductonthehost.
Enterthefullpathtoadirectorywheretheinventoryfilesanddirectoriescanbeplaced.
SelecttheappropriateoperatingsystemgroupnamethatwillowntheOracleinventorydirectories.Thisgroupmust
havewritepermissionsontheOracleInventorydirectories.

Note:Thecentralinventorylocationmustnotbeonasharedfilesystem.Ifitisalreadyonasharedfile
system,thenswitchtoanonsharedfilesystembyfollowingtheinstructionsinMyOracleSupportDocument

5.CheckPrerequisites

Checkthestatusofprerequisitechecksrunbytheinstallationwizard,andverifywhetheryourenvironmentmeets
alltheminimumrequirementsforasuccessfulinstallation.
ThestatusoftheprerequisitecheckcanbeeitherWarning,FailedorSucceeded.
IfsomechecksresultinWarningorFailedstatus,theninvestigateandcorrecttheproblemsbeforeyouproceed
withtheinstallation.Aftercorrectingtheproblems,clickRerun.
IfyouprefertohidethesuccessfulchecksandviewonlytheWarningorFailedones,thenclickHideSuccessful
Checks.
AlthoughOraclerecommendsyoutoinvestigateandcorrecttheproblems,ifyouarecompelledtoproceedwithout
resolvingthem,thenselectIgnoretoignorethewarningsandfailures.However,allpackagerequirements,
HostnamerequirementsandFileDescriptorrequirementsmustbemetbeforeproceedingfurtherotherwisethe
installationmightfail.
6.SelectInstallationType

SelectCreateaNewEnterpriseManagerSystemandthen,selectSimpleforaSimpleinstallation.Thisoptionisfor
atypical,defaultconfiguration.Thisissimpleandquick,promptsonlytoenterAdministratorpasswordand
databaseconnectiondetails.Whilethedatabaseconnectiondetailsareusedforconnectingtoyourexisting,
certifiedOracledatabase.
TheAdministratorpasswordisusedascommonpasswordforSYSMAN,WebLogicuseraccount,nodemanager
useraccount,andalsoforauthenticatingnewManagementAgentsthatjointheEnterpriseManagersystem.
SelectCreateaNewEnterpriseManagerSystemandthen,selectAdvancedforanAdvancedinstallation.This
optionismeantforAdministratorswhowantscustomoradvancedandmoreflexibleconfiguration.Itpromptsyou
forWebLogicServerdetails,databaseconnectiondetails,datafilelocationsfortablespaces,passwordforcreating
SYSMANaccountandalsocustomizeports.
ProvideanemptyMiddlewareHomelocationfortheOUItoinstallWeblogicalongwiththeEnterpriseManager
CloudControlinstallation.Ifyoualreadyhavea10.3.5OracleWebLogicServerinstallationwhichyouwanttouse
providethatlocationastheMiddlewareHomelocation.
7.(Simple)EnterConfigurationDetails

Enteranadministratorpassword,whichcanbeusedasacommonpasswordforSYSMAN,WebLogicuseraccount,
nodemanageruseraccountandforauthenticatingnewManagementAgentsthatjointheEnterpriseManager
system.
Enterthefullyqualifiedhostnamewheretheexistingdatabaseresides,thedatabase'slistenerport,database
servicenameorSID,andpasswordforSYSuser.
8.(Advanced)SelectPlugins

SelecttheoptionalpluginsyouwanttoinstallfromthesoftwarekitwhileinstallingtheEnterpriseManagersystem.
Theabovescreenliststhemandatorypluginsaswellastheoptionalplugins.Thegrayedrowsindicatethe
mandatorypluginsthatwillbeinstalled.
Duringinstallation,ifyouwanttoinstallapluginthatisnotavailableinthesoftwarekit,thenrefertoAdvanced
InstallerOptionswhichdescribeshowyoucaninstalladditionalplugins.
9.(Advanced)WebLogicServerConfigurationDetails

EnterthecredentialsforthewebLogicServeruseraccountandtheNodeManageruseraccount,andvalidatethe
pathtotheOracleManagementServiceinstancebaselocation.
OMSInstanceBaselocationispopulatedasthegc_instdirectoryundertheprovidedMiddlewareHomelocation.
Youcanoptionallyprovideadifferentlocationofyourchoice.
ThisdirectoryisusedforstoringallconfigurationdetailsrelatedtoOracleManagementService12c.
10.(Advanced)DatabaseConnectionDetails

Enterthefullyqualifiedhostnamewheretheexistingdatabaseresides,thedatabase'slistenerport,database
servicenameorSID,andpasswordforSYSuser.

EnterpriseManagerCloudControl.
EnterapasswordforregisteringthenewManagementAgentsthatjointheEnterpriseManagersystem.
Enterthefullpathtothelocationwherethedatafileformanagementtablespace(mgmt.dbf)canbestored.

13.ReviewandInstall

OntheReviewscreen,reviewthedetailsyouprovidedfortheselectedinstallationtype.
Ifyouwanttochangethedetails,clickBackrepeatedlyuntilyoureachthescreenwhereyouwanttomakethe
changes.
Afteryouverifythedetails,andyouaresatisfied,clickInstalltobegintheinstallationprocess.
14.(OnlyUnix)Oncethesoftwarebinariesarecopiedandconfigured,youarepromptedtoruntheallroot.sh
