Island that Might Wash Away

By Leah Koritz

Why are you pineapple? -Curious

A small island called Marshall Island, in

the Pacific Ocean might wash away, even if the
planet gets warmer by two degrees. The island
is about the size of Washington D.C., and has
no hills or mountains to take shelter on if theres
another big flood. There have been multiple
big storms over the last few years, some so big
theyve destroyed many houses, and have killed
people. Once, there was a storm so big, a part of
the island became non-existent. Some people on
the island live in such fear that therell be another
storm or flood, theyve decided to make kayaks/
canoes and leave the island.
Life on the island is very simple: there
is no buying land; instead, land gets passed
down from generation to generation, or if youre
looking to have a new piece of land, you can ask
the person whos in charge of that part of the
island. On the island, when you turn one year
old, you have a gigantic birthday party. Often,
the event is bigger than a wedding. At the party,
you get gifts, and a gigantic birthday cake!

Do you have any other ideas?

We need to help save the Marshall Island!!

Top 10 Baseball Stadiums

By Chris Chen
10. Petco Park, San Diego Padres
No matter where your seat is in this architecturally
innovative ballpark, you can watch the game or
enjoy the citys skyline and the water. This park
also includes a sandbox!

3. Wrigley Field, Chicago Cubs

The ivy on the brick outfield wall and the manual
scoreboard in centerfield is truly iconic. After
renovations to the outfield stands this past year, Wrigley
Field is even cleaner than it already was before.

9. Target Field, Minnesota Twins

This 2010-built stadium in downtown Minneapolis
boasts the newest features and amenities you can
find in a ballpark. The Twins definitely hit a home
run with the opening of this new field.

2. Fenway Park, Boston Red Sox

The Green Monster, Peskys Pole, The Citgo Signthere are many things that make Fenway the most
recognizable ballpark in the MLB. Yes, the seats are
cramped and half the field can be obstructed from a
pole, but there is nothing like a game at Fenway Park.

8. Yankee Stadium, New York Yankees

A lot of the architecture celebrates the old Yankee
Stadium, such as the seat layouts and the stadium
roof. There is also cleaner and more modern
facilities and amenities.
7. Busch Stadium, St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals 47,000 seat, retro-style stadium is
clean, new, and showcases spectacular views of
St. Louis including the Gateway Arch. The all-red
seats are a nice touch too.
6. Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles Dodgers
Dodger Stadium is the largest stadium in the MLB.
There are no poles in this stadium, making every
seat a good one. What is also unique about this
stadium was that it is the only stadium carved into
a hillside.
5. Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore
Orioles
Enjoy a great game of baseball from the hometown
Orioles, or gaze at the unique architecture of this
1992-built ballpark. The old warehouse in right
field is a nice touch as well.
4. PNC Park, Pittsburgh Pirates
The best part of PNC Park is the breathtaking views
of the Allegheny River, the Roberto Clemente
Bridge, and the Pittsburgh skyline beyond the
stadium. Within the stadium, the atmosphere is
uncomparable during playoff games.

1. AT&T Park, San Francisco Giants

AT&T Parks best feature is the spectacular view of
the Bay. The Park itself is the perfect combination of
a modern amenities and a classic design. The Giant
Glove, the blaring of the fog horn, and the Coca-Cola
bottle is a neat touch. It is a true gem among all MLB
ballparks.

Badminton News
By Casey Corcoran
As someone asked in my sports column last time to
write about badminton, I will do that today.
Kevin Cordon from Guatemala and Michelle Li
from Canada were crowned as champions at the
Pan Am Games. Cordon defeated Andrew DSouza
(representing Canada) after an early 9-2 lead.
Michelle Li defeated Rachel Honderich with some
ease because she faced off with her in the last Pan Am
Games.
Remember my sports column has moved to the old
building by the ramp and stairs!

An Open Letter to Walker

Walker, my good sir, (you can probably guess
who this is by my introduction, although, if
you cant, its the guy who always calls you
good sir when he takes Daily Doubles from
you at the end of the day) I have been meaning
to do this for a very long time. Ever since I
started camp here four years ago, I have
always heard the great legend of your glorious
mustache. Now, it is my last summer at camp,
and I have, over the course of this year, grown
my own stache. My good sir Walker, I know
from experience that you have trouble talking
about your mustache, but good sir in the
name of facial hair, and the sophistication
of the upper lip, I salute thee, mustache to
mustache, gentleman to gentleman.

PSA: Natalie Dean is an awesome and beautiful girl and

she will rock your socks off! She is literally so nice and
you should befriend her! Dean is in love with the Beauty
and the Beast and she makes me laugh! We have so many
inside jokes and she is hilarious!

Ways to lift your grades

By Natalie Dean

A Q and A with Walker Anderson the Seventh

By Orly Shiner

Hey lovelies! I know, none of you want to be thinking

about school, but it is coming faster than you think. I
will be honest with you guys, I am not the best student.
I get pretty bad grades and I am not happy with it.
But, I have learned through these steps how to lift my
grades from Ds to Bs so keep reading if you would
like to know how to quickly get your grades up when
youre ready for school.

Q: If you could have any name thats not Walker

Anderson, what would it be?
A: Janice Shiner

1. Go to your teacher to review tests: Talking to a

teacher and getting help from them is always a good
thing to do when getting your grades up. Having oneon-one time is very helpful because it is only you and
she/he can help you understand what you missed. And
also, dont be afraid to ask questions, in class and in
one-on-one time.

Q: What do people describe you as?

A: Frustrating

2. Create a study schedule: Again, if you are like me

you would rather hang with your friends after school.
But school needs to come first if you want to have a
good job and go to a good college. Each day set aside
30 minutes to studying each day. And when there is a
test in that subject, try and hour. Doing this is much
better than late night cramming.
3. Bring some fun into studying: I know, seems
impossible. But it isnt. Make a studying game with
your friends. Here is a game idea I love; you and your
friend think of 15 questions then write them on index
cards. Quiz each other than the one with the most
correct gets a little reward. You can think of it ;)
4. Do any extra credit possible: This is a really
really really really good way to get your grades up.
TEACHERS DONT WANT TO FAIL YOU, THEY
ARE NOT OUT TO GET YOU. They give extra credit
for students to challenge themselves and to boost their
grade! Take the chance and do the extra credit!
5. Reward yourself after you study: Come on, you
deserve a reward. It will relieve stress.
Thank you for reading this and I hope that this helped
you guys if you are getting worried about going to
school and your grades. Trust me, I am so excited for
school because I love school, especially when Im
with my friends. But I know I will love school more if
I have good grades. So I hope you enjoyed! xx

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world that is

not where you are currently living, where would you
live?
A: Philadelphia

Q: Have you ever had 500 days of summer?

A: I have not but I have had 500 days o slumber
Q: If you could teach any classes at camp other
than the ones that you currently teach, what would
you teach?
A: TOTA
Q: Whats your favorite movie?
A: Back to the Future
Q: Have you ever experienced exploding head
syndrome?
A: NO

State Anagrams
By Sarah Parrish

Some asked me to write about basketball and the

best horses in history, so here we go:
Basketball:
The San Antonio Spurs won the Las Vegas Summer
League with a 93-90 win over the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs
won Lamarcus Aldridge over in free agency away from the
Phoenix Suns too in the battle for the 9-year Power Forward
veteran. Becky Hammons (San Antonio Spurs coach)
became the first female coach to lead an NBA Summer
League team to the trophy. In this Summer League, Kyle
Anderson, the Small Forward out of UCLA, won the MVP.

DeAndre Jordan made the decision to leave the
Los Angeles Clippers and head to the Dallas Mavericks.
Monday morning, he had some regrets about the decision.
He met with Doc Rivers, Steve Ballmer, Chris Paul, Blake
Griffin, J.J. Reddick, and Paul Pierce flew to his house and
talked to him about the deal. They didnt leave until he
signed the deal (pure [pressure much?). In the end, six days
after he signed the four-year max deal with the Mavericks,
he signed and four-year, and (approximately) $88 million
dollar deal.

Best horses in history:

1. Secretariat:
He is only 0.2 seconds slower than the fastest horse in the
world ever. He holds the record for the fastest horse on the
dirt from 1 3/16 miles to 1 miles in history. He never lost
a race (except for illnesses, interference, etc.), and when all
of these things were over, he won his last sixteen races, and
never very close.
2. Man O War
He made his horse racing debut on June 6, 1919. When
he was only three, he was about 5 foot 6 and he weighed
1,125. He was only lost one race out of 21 when he was
two. He whipped up a Triple Crown, and his leap is what
other horses are held standard too. He even raced with a
138-pounder on his back.
3. Citation
Citation started 45 times and won first 32 times, second ten
times, and third two times. He only didnt finish in first,
second, or third when he was starting once. He took home
the 1948 Triple and crown and won the Pimlico Special
that year. He was also the first horse to win more than
$1,000,000.

Google Tricks
By Michelle Moon, Julia Martin and
Sarah Parrish
Hi CRCAP! We learned a few
awesome tricks that we want to share
with you. First, we would like to
show you the barrel roll. If you type
do a barrel roll on google search
the computer screen will roll around,
its really cool. Next, you can type
google gravity and click the first
thing that pops up. Everything will
fall the the ground but it still works
for example if you search puppies,
puppy site will pop up and puppy
picture will fall. Also, you can write
in zerg rush and a bunch of little
circle pop up and you hit them with
your mouse and you get a score.
Google guitar is an another thing
that you can go on to and you turn
on the light thing and then strings
appear and basically strum them
with your mouse and it makes sound
when you strum the strings on the
guitar. In google, you can type in
google underwater and t will turn
into an ocean scene! This is all in
google mirror. If you type in, Hello
my name is It will have name tags
with the name you enter fall into the
water.Google mirror is a page where
is everything is backwards like you
are looking in a mirror. If you type in
snake game there is a little game at
the top of your screen where there is
a snake and you try to eat these little
foods. Finally, there is a page called
google pacman. Google pacman is
a game a little like the snake game
but instead of snakes and foods its
packman and dots but with ghosts.
You can also try google zipper and
the screen turns into fabric with a
zipper! I hope that you go home
and try these tricks because they are
really cool. I am so sad that this is
our last article of the session. Bye!

Get those fleek eyebrows!

By Natalie Dean
Hey lovelies! A lovely counselor recently asked me to write an
article on how to get those fleek eyebrows after reading one of
my makeup articles. So, I would answer her request and write
an article on it. Want those perf eyebrows? Keep reading to get
my steps on how to get those perfect eyebrows
1. Evaluate the brow bone: Dont think about the eyebrow at
first, just get that bone.
2. Choose a colour: It should really match your natural
haircolour. Dont go crazy, ok? While doing this, also brush
your brow hair to get it all unified.
3. Get touching: With a light eyebrow pencil, use it to get
those brows further than the inner corner of your eye and near
your nose.
4. Peak: Draw the peak of the brown near the outer of your
pupil
5. End it: The end of your brow should be drawn at an angle to
the outer corner of your eye
6. Gel: Set it with a natural colour brow gel so the hairs stay
together plus the makeup will last longer.
And we are done! Thank you for reading this article I hope it
helps you! xx
