1. Beside a lot of advantages, some people believe that the Internet creates many problems.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

For people the internet provides a vast library of knowledge. As for children literally have the
world at their fingertips. They could do any topic at any time, day or night. For adults, it is still
the best resource for information about diseases, world news, parenting tips, and many other
things. The internet, however, can be harmful to children and adults in quite a few ways.
Children may also come across sites that are inappropriate for them. This of course creates
problems for adults that supposed to supervise their children from pornography, lack of real-life
relationships, laziness, and gambling. Without a proper supervision, children can log on to
pornographic websites. The Internet is a great invention but its introduction to children and its
availability to just about anyone can bring negative influence.
The internet has become the new playground for sexual predators. The Internet gives them the
anonymity they need to lure unsuspecting children into inappropriate conversations and in some
cases ending up by making love with them. There are laws that keep these sexual predators
away physically from the children but none keeping them off virtually.
Wrong interpretation of message sent if it is not a face to face conversation. It can be time
consuming if one is a poor interpreter. It reduces face to face socialization in some instances eg
emailing. One can experience antisocial or hostile behaviour and promotes attention deficit
disorder in both the young and the grown up.
The teacher s can find the Internet to be extremely useful in planning lessons. The web has
plenty of sites created specifically for teachers to share ideas, change information, and share

documents. They stand to gain the most from using the Internet. In addition to being able to
express themselves and show creativity on sites like MySpace and Twitter, they can also use the
net for school projects and homework.
Sharing information is probably the biggest advantage internet is offering. The Internet is a
virtual knowledge center of the world. Any kind of information on any topic under the sun is
available on the Internet. The search engines like Google, yahoo can be used to find information
on the Internet. You can almost find all sort of data on almost any kind of subject that you are
looking for. There is a huge amount of information available on the internet for just about every
subject known to man.
Entertainment is another reason why many people prefer to surf the Internet. In fact, media of
internet has become quite successful in selling entertainment industry to the people.
Downloading games, visiting chat rooms or just surfing the Web are some of the uses people
have discovered. There are numerous games that may be downloaded from the Internet for free.
Many services are now provided on the internet such as purchasing tickets for your favorite
movies to guidance services on any topics.

Some smaller, rural schools may not have the same facilities as larger schools. So internet helps
level the playing field by allowing all students to have access to different ideas, thoughts, and
materials they would not otherwise have. These educational materials can be used to supplement
curriculum materials in the school. Additionally, because not all students learn the same way,
internet can offer a variety of ways to teach, be it through graphic organizers, visually looking at
the materials and interact with them.

The Internet has both advantages and disadvantages. Internet is a collection of various services
and resources. Today, Internet has brought in the world to our living rooms. We can get news
across the corner of the world and a lot to offer in terms of services, everything is at our
fingertips. However, like every single innovation in science and technology, Internet has its own
disadvantages.

2. Nowadays, many students decide to further their study abroad; what are the benefits and
drawbacks of studying abroad. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this
statement?

Nowadays more and more student are keen to study abroad, because they feel that studying
abroad is better than studying at local universities of our country. However, we have to respect
their decision to do so. They have own reason to study locally or abroad. Both of universities,
abroad or local have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Of course, getting education in foreign county has a lot of benefits. Living in any new country is
likely to broaden their minds. They can experience new cultures, interacting with those with a
different background from their own, and experiencing the way other peoples do things is
generally a positive, enhancing experience. In this respect, studying abroad can be confidencebuilding, equipping the student with the resourcefulness needed to be self-sufficient in a foreign
country.

The students may improve English language skills. They would have many opportunities to
reach it as they would be completely engrossed into the English culture. This immersion would
also be very fascinating as they would acquire greater knowledge and understanding of a foreign
culture. And of course it is necessary to say, in order to learn ones language, we must know their
culture too. Surely, it is the best way to learn foreign language.

Studying in foreign land is expensive most of the time. This wouldn't be a problem if students
families are wealthy enough or they are going to a country where currency is much cheaper than
their hometown. Moving into another country would cost housing, expensive insurance
coverage, and other things you might need settling into new life.
The students have to part from their families, and that is difficult for some especially when its
first time living apart from them. Getting used to the food and the environment is also hard. It is
terrible when the students could not co-exist and learn things from the natives. For example, if
you're wish is to become an engineer, it is better to go to Germany but one must understand that
Germans have their own window of the world.
Living abroad is challenging. It will make us value our own culture and to not take it for
granted. It would help the students to become more patient and empathic with others, and not
just with foreigners. In other hand, if the students are too immersed in that foreign culture, they
would convert to it and this would lead to other complications. Each trip not only broadens the
students mind but also putting them in vulnerable position.
In conclusion, while studying abroad offers great opportunities for a better future, it also has
challenges that we must try our best to overcome what happened to make our dream become
true.

3. As mass communication and social network continue to grow, societies are becoming
more and more alike leading to a phenomenon known as globalization. Some people fear
that globalization will inevitably lead to the total loss of cultural identity. What is your
say on the above statement?

The world has become smaller and closer because of globalization. The world has changed and
our home country is not an island any more. It leads to pull all the countries in the world together
and make them as one. Globalization can be good or bad, it depends to the opinion of each
person. Some say it made their lives easier and comfortable and some vice versa.
Globalization has led to numerous employment opportunities. Companies with big names are
moving to developing nations and this creates more employment to the locals. This obviously
caters the needs of the people and their income can be sustained for a longer time.
Cheaper prices of the goods are possible because of the competition in the market. The
manufacturers are moving to the countries which have cheaper laborers. This makes the cost of
the products lower and this leads to cheaper products in the market. Customers can benefit
from buying cheaper products and save their money.
Free movement of the capital is possible because of the globalization. Today, transferring
money is easy and made possible by banks due to electronic transfer. In the process, many big
companies are investing in the developing nations with the help of these banks. This leads to
foreign direct investment, which promotes economic growth.
Buying and selling of commodities are made easy with globalization. The businesses not only
handle their products in foreign but also outsourcing. This will help the companies to multiply
their skilled workers in order to maximize profits.

Gross domestic products of host countries can be increased if the untapped economic source
could be maximized. The foreign companies with the expertise could familiarize their products
and services according to the needs of the local .Thus, the host countries could gain financially
by increasing gross domestic products.
Globalization has given rise to health issues with new threats and challenges. A good example
is the increase in AIDS and HIV can be seen in the countries which host Africans. This is
because AIDS origin is associated with countries in Africa. Not only exchanging the humans can
been seen as threat but importing food from certain countries could lead to health hazards.
People are adapting to particular culture which is popular. Usually all the countries in the world
have culture and traditions to be followed. With large number of people moving out of the
country, they adapt to new culture in the host country. These people tend to follow the foreign
culture more and forgetting their own.
Globalization has pluses and minuses. Nowadays, it is very important for global players to keep
in their minds that culture and sentiments of the locals must be respected and for the
immigrants, they must not forget their roots.

4. Problems with environmental pollution have become so serious that many countries are
trying to solve these problems. Suggest possible solutions and give your own opinion.

The environment that we live in is being polluted day by day. There are innumerable factors
associated to this problem but none can be done to solve it. The activities and lifestyles of
humans play an important role in environmental pollution. Until now, it is one of the reasons has
affected the environment of the world.

The soil is important natural resources on earth. The contamination made the natural composition
of the soils altered and affects the food chain and then the entire ecosystem. The farmers use
chemical fertilizers as a major cause of soil fertilization. This causes the soil to be contaminated
by chemical that leads to barren soil in later stage. Making use of organic fertilizers not only
protects the soil, but also leads to the production of food crops with less amount of toxic. Organic
fertilizer not only provides nutritional food to the people but also keeps them healthy.
Following vegetarian lifestyles could be the way to save earth from environmental pollution.
People become the habitual meat eaters. One must understand that process of getting the meats
such as chicken, pork, beef and so on can be disastrous to the environment. The wastage released
by these animals could pollute the rivers, soils and air. As we know nobody can stand these
animals farms around their housing area. The greenhouse gases generated by these animals are 7
times more than for a vegan diet. If people started to be vegetarian then the extinction of several
animal species could be stopped.

Water pollution has been here for so many years, yet we couldnt find a proper solution to this
crisis. The lack of concerns about the disposal of industrial waste water is the major concern of
the people. In order to rectify some of the problems, improvement of recycling process, strict
guidelines and awareness of the water users could help in the process.
The disposals of hazardous waste materials have a long-term effect to the humans. Different
types of hazardous waste materials are pesticides, paints and solvents must be treated before
disposal. Plants, animals and humans can be affected by these poisonous waste materials.

Depletion of ozone layer could maximize ultraviolet rays of sun in this world. The layer is
becoming thinner day by day because of pollutants like nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide and carbon
monoxide. Only solution for this is the government must check the emissions of these gases in
the air.
The environmental problems and solutions are complicated issues. However, the correct attitude
towards life could help to reduce the environment pollution. The knowledge of environment
pollutions could help in the conservation of natural resources.

5. Global warming is one of the most serious issues that the world is facing today. What are
the causes of global warming and what measures can governments and individuals take to
tackle the issue?

Scientists say that global warming is happening because humans are emitting heat-trapping gases
and the climate would not stabilize for many decades because the gases we have already released
into the atmosphere will stay there for years. So the global warming could be controlled if we
reduce emissions significantly. And the faster and more the earth warms, the higher the chances
are for some irreversible climate changes.

The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of
fossil fuels, land clearing and agriculture, and other human activities, are the primary sources of
the human-induced component of warming. An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause
other changes, including a rising sea level and changes in the arctic ice bergs. These changes may
increase the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts, heat
waves, hurricanes, and tornados.

Deforestation is another main contributor of carbon dioxide. The causes of deforestation are
logging for lumber, pulpwood, and fuel wood. Also leading to deforestation is clearing new land
for farming and pastures used for animals such as cows. Forests and wooded areas absorb carbon
dioxide, and release oxygen, carbon is being placed into trees. This process is named
photosynthesis, which occurs less and less as we cut and burn down trees. As the large quantity
of trees declines, a smaller amount carbon dioxide can be recycled. As we blaze them down,
carbon is released into the air and the carbon bonds with oxygen to form carbon dioxide,

accumulation to the greenhouse effect.

Another cause of global warming is population. An extra person means more food, and more
methods of transportation. That means more methane because there will be more burning of
fossil fuels, and more agriculture. If you go to barn filled with animals and you smelled
something awful, you were smelling methane. Another source of methane is manure as more
food is needed to feed the population. Animals like cows and buffaloes are a source of food
which means more manure and therefore more methane. An added problem with the increasing
population is transportation. Extra people mean more cars and more cars means more pollution.

The appliance of the new substitute energy and agriculture technologies will provide the
solutions of global warming. The first is an alternative type perpetual electric device that will
replace petrol or diesel engines for transportation. Through better transmissions and with more
slick designs, and stronger yet lighter material for chassis will allow a totally non-fuel burning
automobile and truck.

Replacement the present power grid systems into perpetual electric units that will not pollute the
air or waste natural resources. Smaller electric units will also be used for many major appliances
such as clothes washers, dishwashers, water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners and boilers.

Protecting threatened forests will help stop global warming which can also save us money,
increase food efficiency and create new business and cultivation opportunities. The systematic
approach to new hydroponics agriculture and the enriched soil of Terra Preta will increase food
production over 800% on less land, thereby saving precious rainforests.

The new water hydration device will give atmospheric water as an abundant source for crop
irrigation. Using the force of water without building dams will make use of turbine generated
energy that will be modified for many agriculture uses.
In summary the best answer to end global warming is to plant substantial amounts of trees,
and we need to significantly reduce emissions. There really is no other secret formula to stop
global warming and find a solution. Incredible new technologies are wanted and we need to
take better care of our environment.
