Flyer
Date: May 10th, 2015
Course: Visual Communication 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Description: This is a greyscale flyer promoting a fictional Graduate Leadership
Conference
Process: I sketched out a few designs on paper before I went in to things. I created
this flyer in Adobe InDesign. As for the style, I wanted to use some heavy contrast
to lead the eyes around the page, and the simple, angular lines create a good flow.

Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: This project was a flyer for a fundraiser for a fictional charity Coats for
Kids raising money through entrance fees for a vintage snowmobile race, utlimately to inform people about a cheap and enjoyable fundraiser to participate and
watch, all while raising money for a good cause.
Process: Using Microsoft Word, and scanning a 18 x 24mm photo negative to give
a more vintage feel to emphasize what the project was about. I used an orange
and blue theme to keep with the colors of the snowmobiles as well. The Title font
was used to try and give a more vintage feel as well.

Objectives: I wanted to reach graduates that are done with, or almost done with
the upward climb of school and to focus on the aspects that will help them in
the conference.

Date: May 30th, 2015
Course: Visual Communication 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: I wanted this montage to convey a message that we need to enjoy the
journey in our lives and not just take the easy road to get there to appeal to anyone who is caught up in the rat race of life and needs to focus on relaxing a little
more.
Process: Using Adobe InDesign, I first created a simple left to right gradient mask
with two different images and then added the layer of clean and readable text for
the quote.

Logo

Objective: This logo was created to promote my part time video editing studio,
Wooly Studios. I wanted to create a simple, readable, but still interesting logo
thats different enough to be eye catching and memorable.
Process: I used some basic Adobe Illustrator shapes and merging processes to create a clean logo that is easy to read and has a modern feel.

Letterhead
Date: June 11th, 2015
Course: Visual Communication 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: The letterhead design is for my amateur video editing studio Wooly
Studios. I wanted to let people know that Wooly Studios is an up and coming
video editing studio thats ready to take on the modern world.
Process: I used Illustrator to create the camera logo, and then linked it into an
InDesign folder for the project where I created the letter with some minimalist
background and text.

Business Card
Date: June 11th, 2015
Course: Visual Communication 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: The business card design is again for Wooly Studios. With the business card, I wanted a bold, but clean approach, as well as making sure that we
have an online presence. I kept the same color scheme as I had with the other
projects to keep continuity and familiarity.
\Process: I used Illustrator to create the camera logo, and then linked it into an
InDesign folder for the project where I created the business card.

Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: This logo is show case the logo design for Wooly Studios, a video studio
with professional quality video work done at amateur costs. The message is trying
to convey a modern, professional tone, and not being overly stylized.
Process: Using a basic HTML page, and simple CSS for fonts, boards, colors and
margins, I was able to achieve the design, as well as using Illustrator to create the
logo itself.

Brochure
Date: July 10th, 2015
Course: Visual Communication 130
Instructor: Joel Judkins
Objective: This is a tri-fold brochure for an up and coming car manufacturer
called Rebel Motors, who specialize in a la carte vehicles. I wanted something
that was youthful, but professional, with just the right amount of irreverence to
convey to overall feel of the company. The company still wants to sell cars, but
wants to attract a younger, more excited market.
Process: I created the logo within Adobe Illustrator and the brochure itself within
InDesign. I using the facing pages
