activity, city or event.
Date: July 7, 2015
Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins
Program(s)/Tools: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Objectives:
Understand how to make a folded two-sided brochure.
Gain greater knowledge how to use InDesign to create a functional
project.
Use at least four images that capture the message of the brochure.
Learn how to make correct measurements for folding.
Process: I started with a sketch of what I wanted to do and then made
the measurements and transferred them to my InDesign document. I
knew I wanted to have a fold down the middle so I made sure to make

Montage
Description: An inspirational montage using two or more images and text.
Date: May 30, 2015
Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins
Program(s)/Tools: Photoshop
Objectives:
Used Photoshop layers
Blend images together smoothly
Use filters
Use good typography
Process: I cropped the image of the girl to 8.5 x 11 and used the lightning image
as the background. I then used the masking tool and added the girl on the top of
the lightning image. I used the paintbrush tool while in the mask and changed the
opacity to half to bring out the lightning over the entire image. I moved the
lightning to be down her face. The words are in different sizes to show the meaning
and strength each word has.

Stationery
Description: Create stationary using the logo and company made for the logo project
Date: June 23, 2015
Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins
Program(s)/Tools: Illustrator
Objectives:
Use the logo used in logos project
Create a consistent layout for a business card and stationary using the logo
Use tools in illustrator
Process: I used the logo used for the business card and logos project. The color
scheme of my logo is what i used to create the scheme on my stationary and card.
I found a green texture and lowered the opacity so the contrast of the project was
not off. I also lowered the opacity so the contrast of the text could be seen. I used
the logo and enlarged it to be a watermark on the stationary page. The information
of my company and name are placed at the top in a professional manner.

project
Date: June 23, 2015
Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins
Program(s)/Tools: Illustrator
Objectives:
Use the logo used in logos project
Create a consistant layout for a business card and stationary using the logo
Use tools in illustrator
Process: I placed the logo I created already in a previous project and used that as
the rounded part of the card. I used the shape tool to create the rectangle for the
reminder of the card. I then used a texture for the line used next to the text. Both
sides have information. One side has contact info and the other has the information about what the company is and who to get in touch with.

Logo
Description: Create a logo for a company or for yourself
Date: June 6, 2015
Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins

Program(s)/Tools: Illustrator
Objectives:

Create a logo and present it in a full color, black and white, and white and color on a color
background.
Use only Illustrator tools only to create the logo

Process: I thought about the company I wanted to make the logo for. I made up a recording company and then made my logo to go with that company. I used the shape tool and made the perfect
circle to look like a record shape. Next I used the pin tool to make the lightning bold. It looked
boring down the middle so I used the warp tool to warp it around the record shape. The pin tool
was used again to create a line so I could write the name of the company on the logo.

corrections tool and the recolor tool.

Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins
Program(s)/Tools: Text Wrangler
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Gain a greater knowledge and understanding of html/CSS to create a webpage.
Resize my logo and change it to a .png for my webpage.
Design a webpage-using html using text wrangler.
Write the content for my website and learn how to code.
Process: I created this webpage using Text Wrangler to write my html with a pre-made CSS
file. I added the content I wanted on my webpage. Next I moved to Photoshop to edit my
image to go with my
Color scheme I had already picked. While in Photoshop I used the eyedropper tool to get
the correct colors for my webpage and the background. Next I needed to pick the correct
font that would go with the theme I already had for my webpage. I picked Helvetica.
This project was hard at first, but it ended up being one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the
Process and the way it turned out.

Flier

Description: Create a flier for a company using design principles

Date: May 9, 2015
Course/Instructor: Comm 130 Section 06
Joel Judkins
Program(s)/Tools: InDesign
Objectives:
Apply the design principles learned in class along with using the correct typography.
Show my abilities to use InDesign and gathering images and text from a folder.
Create the folder with all the important information for the flier
Process: Created sketches of the layout needed to make a successful flier. I used lines and
boxes at the top and the bottom of the flier to create repetition. The gradient was used to
create a nice contrast and be more attractive. I put the important text in bold and larger
text to give it importance and easy to read. I made sure the contrast of the text was good
with the white and black text. It not only gives contrast with the background and gives
more variety.
