Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Process:
I began by finding two images that were powerful compliments of each other. A
mountainous area with a large lake and a map. Using Photoshop I fitted the image of
the map to the area of the lake and used the gradient tool to make the two images
appear seamlessly connected. After revealing the map I zoomed in and very carefully
revealed pixel by pixel the image of the boy in his full detail so that he might appear
a natural contrast with the map/lake textures surrounding him. Upon entering my
message I recognized a need to bring out make my message stand out more so I varied
my typography and font. I also lightened the area behind my text to make the black
lettering stand out more.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Objectives:
Develop a logo three variations of a logo for a company or for personal interests.
Learn the basic tools of illustrator.
Process:
I used Adobe Indesign to create the clippers and title. I used the the pathfinder tool
to divide, separate and merge shapes to create my clippers and plug. As I created the
clippers I widened my stroke so it was large enough to create a border helping to give
my creation more depth. The cord I created with the pencil tool to help create an
inconsistent look you would expect of a cord.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Indesign
Objectives:
Develop an original letterhead that follows layout principles of white space and
typography.
Use basic functions of Illustrator and indesign
Process:
I began by improving my logo design in Adobe Illustrator, incorporating the name into the
artistic clipper design that I manufactured. After encircling my logo I saved the
information and to one file folder on my desktop. Taking the file from the folder on my
desktop I added it to Adobe Indesign where I proportionally shrunk my logo to meet the
design needs of my letter head and business card. I kept my letterhead professional by
keeping good white space and following and contrasting the typography of my title and
body.

Objectives:
Process:
I created the brochure using Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I began by
creating a very simple logo that I could incorporate into my message. After creating
the logo I gathered the exciting photos that should share some of the excitement of
Rexburg. All the photos are original and have since been uploaded to my Facebook
page. After gathering images and creating a logo I wrote over 250 words of
information based material that could inspire students to get connected and get
active this summer break. After gathering and creating the pictures, written material
and logo I drew out a layout on paper to see how I might best create my brochure with
the material I had. Once I had created a rough idea of what I wanted I went to work in
Indesign to use my logo I created with illustrator and my photos that I adjusted with
Photoshop to put everything together.

Objectives:
Process:
I began by drawing up a few different sketches of my layout. After choosing the most
appealing layout, I used it as a template to create the layout seen above in Adobe
InDesign. For the title I emphasized one word to draw attention to the main purpose
of the flier. I then used the different shades draw the audience down and through the
main body. In order to bring some structure and form to the body I created boxes that
would give some contrast to the overall design.

Objectives:
Process:
I scanned the Super Smash Bros. and was left with a lot of unsavory logos and game
promoting messages on the image. To cover these logos and messages I used the tools
found in Microsoft Word to create shapes, text boxes, and match color pallets to
existing colors used by the image to create consistency and flow. I also used the
layering tool found in word to help organize the various shapes with the image that I
have chosen. After completing my event ad I saved it as a pdf and had it converted to
a jpg on http://pdf2jpg.net.

Objectives:
Process:
Take an original photo with a digital camera capturing proper light settings and
color schemes to maximize attention. After taking the photo, Photoshop was used to
adjust light levels, hue & saturation, and even a little bit of color to make the image
stand out more. I used rectangular boxes/lines to create structure and repetition to
help ease the reader into the inspirational message I have added to my poster. Finally
I used the outline of one of the leaves off of the tree to add an artistic touch while
demonstrating the triadic color wheel scheme.
