COURSE OBJECTIVE
1. To understand the basic concepts of Drives and factors influencing the
choice of electrical
drives.
2. To accomplish the knowledge on electric drives controlled from a power
electronic converter.
3. To understand the working principle of DC &AC motors, Starting methods
and Braking methods.
4. To understand the Concepts of speed control in DC motors & AC motors.
5. To study and analyze the operation of the converter / chopper fed dc drives.
