PMC refinery contract for Foster Wheeler

A subsidiary of Foster Wheelers Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a
contract by STAR Rafieri A.S., a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, for PMC services at its grassroots
Aegean refinery to be built within the Petkim Petrokimya A.S. facilities in Aliaga, Turkey. The
contract value was not disclosed but will be included in the companys third quarter 2013 bookings.

The details
The refinery is designed to process a range of crude oils, including Urals, Azeri Light and Kirkuk,
with a processing capacity of 10 million tpa. It is expected to start operations in 2017 and produce
a range of products including jet fuel, diesel, naphtha, petroleum coke and liquid petroleum gases.
Foster Wheeler executed the front end engineering design for the entire refinery and also
provided the licence and basic design package for the delayed coker, which will use Foster
Wheelers leading SYDEC9(sm) delayed coking technology.

Comments on the contract

Roberto Penno, CEO of Foster Wheelers Global E&C Group said, having successfully delivered a
high quality FEED, we are very pleased to continue to play a key role in this strategic investment in
Turkey. We believe that our proven project management and refining capabilities, out experience
in executing mega projects, and our long established operation in Turkey were all instrumental in
our success in winning this contract.
Kenan Yavuz, CEO, SOCAR Turkey said, this refinery will significantly reduce Turkeys
dependence on imports of many petroleum derivatives, and so it is a strategically important
investment. Foster Wheelers project management and project execution expertise is well known,
and we are confident that the Foster Wheeler team will make a valuable contribution to the
success of this mega project.
