FAST Module for SONORIO

The FAST Module is a diagnostic ultrasound training system that allows students to learn the basics
of a FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) Exam without the need for expensive

TM

This ultrasound trainer provides an affordable platform for teaching students how to read obstetric
ultrasound imaging from two different exam sites. SonoMoms soft tissue body form includes internal and
external landmarks and two simulated probes for abdominal and endocavity scans. The torso simulates a
pregnant patient from 6 weeks to 40 weeks gestational age and has 147 unique probe locations. The 1st

This ultrasound trainer provides an affordable platform for teaching students how to read diagnostic
ultrasound imaging. The system includes a soft tissue body form with internal and external landmarks and
a simulated probe. The torso has 258 unique probe locations providing a normal image for each window.
The systems software platform allows users to expand SonoMans capabilities with a variety of training

Venipuncture Pads
The Venipuncture Pads, which are ultrasound compatible, are perfect for practicing venipuncture or
peripheral catheterization on three varying sized veins filled with blue fluid. The three veins in the pads
are slightly visible through the skin surface on one side and obscured by a thicker tissue layer on the
other side. The larger pads include luer lock tips, a syringe, and eight ounces of blue fluid for easy

Lumbar Puncture/Epidural Trainer

The Lumbar Puncture / Epidural Trainer is an ultrasound compatible trainer that includes the lumbar
vertebrae, iliac crest, spinous process, ligamentum flavum, the epidural space, and dura. The trainer can
be positioned in an upright sitting or a lateral decubitus position. The lumbar puncture procedure allows
the user to penetrate the subarachnoid space and simulated CSF is present when the stylet is removed.

LumbarPunctureBaby
The infant lumbar puncture trainer simulates a two week old infant that can be positioned either lateral
or decubitus. The flexible body form is anatomically correct with a partial iliac crest and umbilicus. The
replaceable tissue has an articulating L3 L5 vertebrae with a partial sacrum and the gluteal crest. Each

Ultrasound Thoracentesis Model

The Ultrasound Thoracentesis Model simulates a partial torso with anatomical landmarks including the
scapula, ribs, diaphragm, pleural cavity, and lung. The simulated lung can be seen as an echogenic
structure with an inflation mechanism to adjust the size of the pleural effusion. The open top allows the
instructor to provide feedback on procedural concepts by allowing students to visualize the catheter depth
and placement when inserted into the pleural cavity. A positive fluid flow then offers users feedback when
pleural effusions are accurately accessed. The trainer is designed to be filled with fluid and is self-sealing

Ultrasound Paracentesis Model

This ultrasound compatible model allows for procedural accuracy when performing a paracentesis. The
anatomically correct model features a distended abdomen and allows the procedure to be performed with
or without ultrasound and on either of the recommended areas: the midline below the umbilicus or medial,

Perineal Repair Trainer

The Perineal Repair Trainer is a soft tissue model that includes skin, muscle, rectal sphincter, and rectal
mucosa. It is ideal for training 1st through 4th degree perineal tears including midline, mediolateral, and
lateral incisions. The tray overlays the tissue providing tension. This feature enhances the simulation
and creates a bony anatomical landmark, simulating the ischial spine. This allows the user to perform a
pudendal block. The internal tissue distension rod allows a more realistic access to deeper tissues during

Electronic Data Generation

EDGE is the next generation of reality-based

laparoscopic training. This ground-breaking training
system will revolutionize surgical education.
Using laparoscopic instruments integrated with
six sensors, EDGE measures the time for each
exercise, path, rotation, grasp, and grasp force
of the instruments. Scoring is based on actual
haptics, providing quantifiable results to its users.
The EDGE system has been developed
and validated through a partnership with the
University of Washingtons BioRobotics Lab and
the Department of Surgery. EDGE features not
only the industrys most accurate laparoscopic
measuring device it also combines a patent
pending algorithm which allows the system to
create a single simscore at the end of each task.
This algorithm is hosted in the cloud allowing all
EDGE systems to be scored by the algorithm. The
algorithm for each procedure continually integrates
new data as it becomes available, allowing it to
better understand users paths to proficiency.
