We are pleased to inform you that Nodal Office, Thiruvananthapuram of Christ University, Bengaluru is
conducting a training workshop on Qualitative Research using R Methods on June 22, 23 & 24, 2015 for
Researchers to improve their capacities in qualitative research.
Introduction and Aims:
R is a free software programme useful for researchers in analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data. The
workshop focuses on using R for qualitative analysis and aims to improve the understanding and skills of the
participants in using R for research work.
Content and Schedule of the Workshop
Workshop will provide (a) introduction to qualitative research and contemporary methods in data analysis; (b)
inputs on different methods of R software; and (c) hands-on training in using R methods for qualitative data
analysis
Topics to be covered:
Topics with schedule of the Workshop for the three days June 22, 23 & 24, 2015 attached).
Resource Person:
Very experienced and top ranked data scientist, with very good feedback from participants of previous training
workshops
Profile of Participants:
Research Guides & Researchers including Post-Graduate, M.Phil and Ph.D. students
Workshop registration:
Those interested to participate may apply in the format prescribed below through e-mail/post before June 19,
2015. Fees of Rs.3,500 may be paid by DD drawn in favour of the Vice Chancellor, Christ University,
Bengaluru 560029)
Fees include costs of training materials, stationery, use of computer lab, lunch and
refreshments on the three training days
Accommodation:
Can be arranged on request. Participants may also make their own arrangements.
Additional Information:
Participants are advised to bring their own laptops for doing workshop exercises.
The workshop starts at 10.30 am on June 22, 2015.
Certificate of Participation will be issued to those who take part in all sessions of the Workshop.
Certificate for availing duty leave will also be issued on request.
