The DuSable Museum of African American History will celebrate the arrival of summer with its 41st Annual Arts & Crafts Festival on July 11-12, 2015. The free, two-day festival will feature artists working in traditional, ethnic, and experimental fine arts and crafts related to African American themes. In addition to art from local, national, and international artists, the festival will include food vendors, marketplace vendors, authors, live entertainment, educational seminars, films, and family activities.

THE DuSABLE MUSEUM CELEBRATES THE ARRIVAL OF SUMMER WITH ITS st 41 ANNUAL ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, JULY 11 AND JULY 12, 2015 Chicago, IL. (15 June 2015) --- The DuSable Museum of African American Historys crowd-pleasing yearly celebration of summer continues with the 41st Annual Arts & Crafts Festival scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and July 12, 2015 from Noon until 8:00 PM each day. The Festival will take place at the Museum, which is located at 740 East 56th Place (57th Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue) in Chicagoand best of all, admission is FREE! The annual DuSable Museum Arts & Crafts festival is a showcase for local, national and international artists of fine art and unique hand-crafted work. Originated in 1974, the Festival features artists working in traditional, ethnic and experimental fine arts and crafts related to African American themes, history and culture. This years theme is Connecting Black Art & History-Celebrating Excellence, which honors the Festival and the Museums mission of preserving the history and culture of the African American experience. During the 41st Annual DuSable Museum Arts & Crafts festival guests may partake of offerings from fine artists, craft artists, food vendors, marketplace vendors, and authors. There will also be live entertainment, educational seminars, films and family activities, in addition to a special Childrens Pavilion sponsored by BMOA Black McDonalds Operators Association.
