Mandatory Job Prerequisites For the purposes of this JSA/SWMS, it is a base operating condition that all mandatory site prerequisites are in place e.g. Structural Cranes Induction, Customers Safety Requirements & Induction,
Plant Inspections, Daily Plant Checklists, Prestart Meetings, Mandatory PPE, Site Rules, necessary work permits etc. and are considered minimum standards. Only additional control measures are considered in this JSA.

CONTROL MEASURES

All personnel in area must wear work boots with


ankle support.

Clear area of trip hazards where practical


otherwise mind your step

Always keep the required safe distance


between the crane and the powerlines using the
distances specified in NSW WorkCover COP
Safe work Near Powerlines

If required to work close to power lines use a


spotter or where possible have the power lines
turned off

Plant to be positioned in area clear of


obstructions / roads

Traffic Control When working within an active


site traffic zone make sure adequate traffic
management is in place

Wear appropriate UV protection (PPE)

Take adequate breaks in shade and air


conditioned vehicles when extended periods of
hot work is required, maintain intake of fluids
(clean cool water)

Insure lighting is sufficient before commencing


work. If lighting is not sufficient obtain artificial
lighting or put job off until lighting is suitable to
continue.

Assess wet and windy weather conditions and


proceed cautiously or cease work accordingly.
