CPM PHOTOGRAPHER FEATURED IN WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL
On Saturday, October 17, 2009, the front page of The Wisconsin State
Journal featured an article on CPM member BILL PIELSTICKER’S project
rephotographing the work of the late-19th Century photographer H.H.
Bennett. In what he projects to be a three to five year project, Pielsticker, in
collaboration with CPM member TRACY MADISON, has completed 10 of 15
planned images for the first phase of this project.

Phase 1 is focused on the area around the Dells as well as several other sites
in Sauk County. These include Bennett’s Leaping the Chasm at Stand Rock,
a view of Devils Lake from Devils Doorway, and anther of Bennett’s more
famous images, Under the Overhanging Rock, a triptych Bennett manually
merged on a single sheet of paper when printing.

The exhibition of the paired images from Phase 1 will begin next summer

CPM OPEN HOUSE AND PARTY
Organizing has begun for a “Picture Perfect” open house and party the evening of February 27th at our “new” digs.
This free event will put a new twist on our former “Galas” with samples of work on display from each of our interest
groups, an extensive silent auction of donated photos, supplies, and other items of large and not-so-large value.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. There will be music, food and drink to rival the best celebrations we’ve had. Silent
auctions will close at 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30 p.m. The photographs and other auction items will appeal both
to collectors and to a general audience. In addition to the silent auctions there will be one or more bins
with photos available at a set price.

As an open house, we want to showcase CPM’s work while we have a good time. Please invite one or more
non-members to join you for all or part of the evening. Anyone signing up for membership that evening
will be offered a discount for their first year membership.

If you wish to donate an item, whether a photograph or something different, please contact Bill Pielsticker
who is tracking donations. You can email him at bill@pielstickerphotos.com.
