task
will
be
to
count
filler
words
in
a
speech.
Examples
of
A more comprehensive report
Counter g)TMOD or h)TTM
counter
filler words are : ah, umm, like, you know, so, too many ands
also keeps track of unusual
pauses (too lengthy, too short,
Role
none at all)
Also, a short recommendation on
general flow of speech goes a
long way
Timer

Your task will be to keep track of the timing for speeches,

evaluations, and table topics. Please be aware of the timings
for each role.
The green card is shown at the lower limit of timing, the yellow
at the middle and the red at the upper limit
Carry the timers cards to the meeting

Grammari
an

Your task will be to introduce the word of the day, keep track of
good and bad usage of grammar.
It is imperative that while giving reports on bad usage, you do
not refer to the person who committed the error. Keep the
recommendations general and the commendations specific
Point out the speakers who used the word of the day correctly
in their speech

Table
Topics
Master

Try and come up with topics that match with the theme

Evaluator
s

An evaluator for CC1 gives only commendations for a new

member

Keep them interesting and humorous. Always have extra topics

handy for a rainy day

All other evaluators follow a C-R-C format. Start the evaluation

with a Commendation, followed by a Recommendation and
then end with a Commendation again
Ensure that you remind your speaker to carry their Competent
Communicator Module
TMOD

A TMOD carries the entire meeting with him/her. His/ her role
extends to:
Sending the role takers email
Informing participants of the meeting details
Starting the meeting on time
Introduce the theme, the role takers, each evaluator
before the speech and finally, each speaker
Ensuring that special requirements for speeches are met
Ensure that speakers are reminded to carry their
Competent Communicator Modules

General

A general evaluator evaluates the meeting as a whole

A great timer not only gives a

comprehensive report, but also
recommends or asks for
recommendations for speech
qualifications
The red card is kept up till the
end of the speech / evaluation /
table topic
A great grammarian introduces
the word of the day by using it in
a sentence
Recommendations should be
easy to remember. This is best
achieved by illustrating
recommendations in easy to
remember ways.
Set the tone for a great end to
the meeting

A great evaluator connects with

the speaker and the crowd.
Make tangible and realizable
recommendations

A great TMOD keeps the

audience engaged with the
theme and interacts in between
each speech

A great GE provides further

Evaluator

The evaluator calls upon each role taker to deliver their reports

feedback to each speaker and

gives recommendations for the
next meeting
