INTRODUCTION
Established in 1998, the Mongolian National University (MNU) is the largest
private university in Mongolia. MNUs faculties, schools of learning and numerous
special programs offering academic and professional enrichment challenging students
to develop new interests and motivate their active participation within their community,
business internships, social engagements and scholastic opportunities.
Over 11,000 undergraduate, graduate students from all Mongolian provinces are
currently enrolled at MNU. Students are studying 80 curriculums for undergraduate,
graduate and post graduate programs within the 10 Schools at MNU. Over 3600 students
graduated from MNU in 2013, with 90 percent finding worth while employment.
MNU students enrich the community with their diverse social and cultural backgrounds.

INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY CENTER


Currently under construction on land adjacent to the Mongolian National University Campus, the Mongolian
National Information and Technology is a visionary project that will incorporate the best elements of
acclaimed innovation centers such as Silicon Valley and bring high tech employment to the nations youth.
Information technology is a natural fit for a country where education is the buzzword and where 52 percent
of the 3-million population count is under 25 years-old. We firmly believe that our country has much to
offer way beyond mining and Mongolia National University is going to be a major player in Solar, Biotech,
Information Technology and Agricultural Research, firstly in Mongolia and Central Asia, and ultimately,
across the globe. Were already in the final stages of a considerable IT/Energy Research deal with a major
US university and were also talking to international tech interests and research partners about projects
including solar arrays and feasibility studies for products and constructions in extreme conditions.

STANFORD UNIVERSITY,
STANFORD EMERGENCY MEDICINE INTERNATIONAL

On behalf of Stanford Emergency Medicine International,


Dr. Mahadevan has signed an agreement with the Mongolian
National University, whereby the MNU School of Medicine
has been given the opportunity to teach the Emergency Medical
curriculum developed by Dr. Mahadevan at Stanford university.
This is the first time Stanford University will have this kind
of relationship with Mongolia. Stanford Medical Center
and Stanford University are recognized worldwide for their
leadership in Medicine and Medical Education. This relationship
is important for medical students in Mongolia to be learning the
latest emergency medical practices to provide the best medical
care to all Mongolians. As part of his visit to Mongolia Dr.
Mahadevan will deliver a series of free lectures to Emergency
Room doctors and physicians, as well as free lectures to students
currently enrolled in medical schools
SOLAR PROJECT
High temperature, non-tracking, solar thermal collector system, Working in cooperation with the University of
California (UC), the faculty of UC Solar and based on their existing designs, this system was researched and further
developed. Mongolian National University (MNU) under the supervision and support of the MNU Engineering
Faculty in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
According to the agreement with the prestigious University of California (UC) to bring high-level international
scientific research to Mongolia. Under the terms of the agreement the Mongolian IT , Mongolian National Innovation
Technology Center the University of California will set up and test an array of latest-version solar-heating technology
units in Mongolia,
MNU is investing heavily in developing Mongolias IT, Innovation and Research capacities and with low operating costs,
and high caliber faculty and students we can be a prime scientific location for the international research community.
We are proud to be bringing this initiative to Mongolia and to be working with the professional team at the Mongolian
National Unversity and University of California.

Students pursue their interests within MNUs extensive collections of research resource books and video
libraries. Internet via MNUs WiFi network is available to MNU students and staff in all libraries7-days a
week. MNU encourages all students to attend library orientation sessions to learn the basics of searching for
relevant materials and improving their foreign language skills.

Student Clubs
MNU students can join 17 different clubs to satisfy their interests. Clubs include: Nogoon Zam
tourism club; Ecology club; Kindo self defense club; Judo, aerobic exercise club; debating
club; Khishigten sports club (basketball, soft tennis, Judo and chess); English Language club the
Five Stars Hotel Management club and others.

Cyber University
MNU offers a 4-year on-line course of study. Students outside the city and in international locations
can now receive all course information on curriculums and attend lectures, seminars,complete their
homework, take exams and participate in activities via smart phone, computer tablet and desktop
computers.

PARTNERSHIPS
MNUs 2014-2018 strategic plan requires implementation, cooperation and
relations with ethical and effective domestic and international partners to achieve
the objectives of Mongolia National Human Rights and Development.
MNU is committed to intensive activities within all fields of educational
organizations, and scientific research centers by joining foreign organizations of
higher education to create regional zones to address issues related to improved
foreign relations, student and professional training, and research work.
Implementation of such works requires establishing a cooperative research center,
organizing student exchange programs, joint seminars, sports and arts events,
and 2+2program dual degree program, 3+1 program for Masters, Doctorates and
researchers. The research centers will facilitate exchanges of educational and
research materials and books to support the fields of Education, Science, Culture

CIVIL ENGINEERING SCHOol


The School is a popular choice for those seeking to be part of the construction secter to build a modern Mongolia.
Study areas include subjects that lead to careers in most areas of construction. These include: building
engineers, HVAC experts, architectural engineers, supply chain managers and managers of human
resources for construction sites. Postgraduate courses are available in building design, off-road
construction and the popular area of renewable energy.

30 experienced consulting engineers and professors .

SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS


The International Relations school was founded in 2005. The School has 48 experienced professors.
School curriculums include: studies of foreign languages, teaching methodologies and in-depth lectures
covering the history, cultures, issues related to modern globalization and aspects of international relations.
MNU offers a dual degree undergraduate program in Foreign Relations.

The International Relations School has foreign language curriculums in English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and
Korean. MNUs faculty is trained and frequently tested using international standardized exams and are awarded
certificates to confirm their knowledge and abilities. MNU invests in improving the skills and qualifications of its
foreign language teachers. MNU also provides opportunities to students at all levels to advance their academic and
business careers in the global market via internships and practical training experiences.

TOURISM SCHOOL
MNUs School of Tourism Management is rated as one of the Best Universities for training specialists
in the tourism industry. MNU has succeeded in training qualified, competent specialists for hotels and tourism
companies in Mongolia. The School was awarded the Best Tourism School in 2009 and 2011. MNU provides
internships for students at resorts, hotels and restaurants in Mongolia.

The School of Tourism Management was


founded in 2004. MNU has 30 professional
teachers and has graduated over 600 students.

MINING SCHOOL
Considered to be Mongolias preeminent learning center for those entering the mining industry, Mongolia National
Universitys Mining School offers an in depth education taught by the nations leading experts. The School is for
those serious students with an eye on joining the countrys most important industry. Top quality tutoring and guidance
are provided to meet industry needs, including: geology, mining engineering, electrical engineering, power station
engineering, facility engineering, safety and rescue planning. The Mining School also offers curriculums in industry
support roles such as: mining research, human resource management, and security.
The Mining School has over 1400 students and 32 experienced consulting engineers and professors. Most of MNUs
graduates are employed by Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Erdenet LLC, Energy Resource LLC, Shivee Ovoo LLC, Tavan Toilgoi
LLC and other Mongolian mining companies and service companies. MNU is collaborating with the Member School
of Mongolian Mining Association, Manufacturing Geologists Union School, School of Undergound Mining and
Engineering and School of Chemical and technology. The Mining School has fully furnished laboratories for
students to complete their project assignments.

ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SCHOOL


Students attending the School of Economics and Business Management develop solid
foundations in Economics and Business Administration. Students are actively
engaged in research projects. Recently, the School opened the doors of MNU
to the local community and working professionals. Courses are available via
evening classes and intensive weekend programs.

The School has its own classrooms, lecture halls and laboratories capable of accommodating 2,000
undergraduate and graduate students and its 50 professional teachers. The main fields of study are:
Business, Economies, Money & Banking, Accounting, Customs and Taxation and Business Management.
The School contains 4 Departments Economics & Banking, International Trading, Marketing Management
and Accounting and Financial Management.
MNU students develop the necessary skills for success by learning the importance of teamwork, preparing
presentations and reports and analytical research practices. Specifically, MNU cooperates with several
international partners, including: Meyo University in Japan, Korean University, Eastern Siberian
University and University of California.
The School has been awarded the Best School for initiating programs for scientific and business
training in 2008 and 2011.

SCHOOL OF mathematics and INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY


The Mathematics and Information Technology School offer 8 undergraduate and a graduate degree in
Computer Software Professional. MNU collaborates with Jeonju Korea University. MNU offers an
International CISCO - Professional Certificate. The School uses professional software programs in:
3-D design, Photo shop, Corel drawing, In-design, Adobe, After effect, Illustrator and Flash.

LAW SCHOOL
The Law School is the first school established at MNU. MNU has educated and trained legal professionals
and lawyers for 16 years. The Law School has educated 1,000 undergraduates and 125 graduate students.
The School has numerous programs and activities all focused on improving the law students' personal
development, talents, skills, ethics, and character. MNU students study in in the usual classroom settings,
but MNU also provides Moot Court training, forensic clinical training, legal consulting practices and an
extensive law library.
MNU is proud of its alumni who work tirelessly and successfully in actual courtrooms, City Prosecutor's
office and serve daily as active notaries, members of the police department and other public service
organizations.
Undergraduate program
This is a four year program which prepares a student to become a barrister or solicitor for private practice as
a community lawyer or legal officer. Paralegal education, including notary instruction for persons working
in the public sector, large cooperations, civil society and legal defense are also offered.

This is a two year program intended for attorneys, judges, prosecutors,
corporate legal counsel and law graduates interested in studying
constitutional law and international law.

MEDICAL SCHOOL
MNUs newest school was founded September 2014 with 250 students. The School educates and graduates
professional medical scientists who are highly adaptable and knowledgeable in practical scientific theory and
clinical practice. Curriculums include studies in: human body structure, and disease processes at the cellular
and whole organ level.
The Schools Medical College and Hospital are currently under construction and will be completed in 2016.
We are actively collaborating with the Stanford University, Stanford Emergency Medicine International,
Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, the Mongolian Health Care Center and Mongolias Ministry of
Health. Our goal is to contribute to the development of medical technique and knowledge, prepare medical
professionals for their practices, organize high quality clinical training and scientific research.

In our School, we offer programs ranging from certificate through to Bachelor degree. We aim to achieve levels and
backed by industry, youll learn from leading architects, designers and industry leaders.

Nationally recognized for design excellence, our School offers double degree programs. We develop our research
through the process of designing, and put designs and ideas into practice. Our graduates are design innovators who
achieve at the highest levels of the architectural profession around the Mongolia. Also you are able to explore the future
of design practice and how this intersects with technology in a rapidly changing world.
MNU offers three leading programs centered on the design of interior spaces, Computer graphic design, Fashion Design
and Architecture.

MONGOLIAN NATIONAL INSTITUTE


These courses are designed for private and public sector professionals to receive enhanced professional training,
personal enrichment and experiential learning. Courses are available at MNUs campus during weekday evenings and
weekends to accommodate the busy schedules of experienced professionals. MNI courses enable business and industry
professionals to strengthen their foundations of knowledge and remain up-to-date on new developments in business
operations, management, technology, and global business.

Course methodology is via classroom lectures and laboratories. An online learning platform for these courses will
become available in 2016. All courses are taught by qualified instructors who have gained their experience while working
as effective leaders, managers and instructors.
