Colegio de Santa Potenciana

1589
Franciscans were the founder of this school
King Philip II established the school because of the urging Manila bishop
named Domingo de Salazar.
This is the first school for girls who want to become nuns. This is a private
school
On 1589 it is located inside the Intramuros, but because of the earthquake on
1645 the school was destroyed and the school had transferred to the corner of Cabildo
and Sta. Potenciana; this is indicated in the Muoz map of 1671.

Colegio de Manila/Colegio de San Ignacio

It is located inside the Intramuros
Jesuits established this college for everyone.
The building was repaired many times because of the earthquakes that
destroys the school
In 1768 the Jesuit was expelled in our country, the school dissolved and
surrender to the government.
This site is now occupied by the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Established on August 01, 1601

School for boys and mestizos
Located at Puerto Real near the Bagumbayan Field
The building was destroyed by many earthquakes until 1768 the school was
renovated because the Jesuits were be expelled in our country.
The school transferred in Padre Faura from 1915 to 1932
Lastly it is transferred in Novaliches
It is now called San Jose Seminary

Colegio de Nuestra Seora de Santisimo Rosario

April 28, 1611


Established because of Bishop Miguel de Benavides, O.P., the third Archbishop
of Manila.
Dominicans were the founder of this institution
Seminary college to prepare young man for priesthood
It is originally located at the Intramuros
It was called Pontifical University
In 1927 it was transferred from Intramuros to its present location in
Sampaloc, Manila
In present time it is now called University of Sto. Tomas

The building was destroyed by the earthquake on 1640 that is located in
Solana corner Beaterio
The area where the college was built is now the location of the Metropolitan
Theater.
In the present time it is now called Colegio de San Juan de Letran

Collegio de Santa Catalina was disappeared on the Intramuros Map
It is now known as Sta. Catalina College, Manila that is located at 2660 Legarda St.,
Sampaloc, Manila
