Implement and maintain effective risk management procedures and strategies to


ensure all required safety procedures are adhered to.

Site access/Login procedures should be followed on entering a facility.


Refer Access Procedure Draft v1.

The Site Pack must be available and all forms filled in on entering the site and
updated on departure to reflect any work done on site.

Upon arrival at site, promptly conduct a site inspection for any damage/vandalism. In
the case of any damage or vandalism, please contact the NOC and local field
operations (MS) team. Record it in the AMBER110614001-Q-F074-Site Condition
Damage Report V1.0.

Refer to AMBER110614001-Q-F103-Site Quality Audit Checklist for pending tasks.


Note

If site condition is different from the site survey report, contact Huawei interface for
further action.

Take Site condition photos to report any issues upon arrival at site. Refer to Procedure
no. 4.

Make sure that the building site access, work permit and application to work has been
approved.

Make sure all Site Pack documents and PPE is avaliable and practised.

Install the outdoor site lightings. Carefully read all the installation manual of the
equipment & make sure the installation of all the equipment according to the design
specified in TSSR.

Check the installation position of BTS Rack according to design floor plan. Verify
location and measurements.

Verify TSSR and site solution including site ID, site name, site configuration, power,
transmission and RF Feeder & Antenna system, etc.

Take pictures of the site.


Note

If site condition is different from the site survey report, contact Huawei interface for
further action.

Any thing not according to plan or design or any such issues that includes unplanned
Live network interruption should be notified straight away to Huawei interface.

Ensure that the site lightings are sufficient to conduct the work safely.

Huawei.
Additional installation materials is sufficient and brought to site. Refer to attached
photos.
Keep the rectifier cabinet pallet base for the temporary installation of the cabinets.

Task Description

Fasten the hanging bracket to bolt B. Pass bolt A through the stand and insert bolt A
in the installation hole on the antenna. Then, tighten the two bolts ;
Remove the bolts on the level adjustment screw, and then install the level adjustment
screw on the stand;
Remove the nuts of the level adjustment screw, and then fix the stand base to the
level adjustment screw;
Apply anti-seize grease to the level adjustment screw and the retaining bolts of the
antenna;
Install the retaining bolts and clamps of the antenna on the stand base.

Modify the Antenna


Polarization Mode
Procedure

The default polarization mode of the antenna is the vertical polarization. If the radio
link is designed with the horizontal polarization, the polarization mode needs to be
modified as follows.

Loosen the four bolts that fix the feed boom ;

Rotate the feed boom 90 degrees smoothly, and point the polarization indicator to the
letter H . In this manner, the antenna is in the horizontal polarization mode;

Tighten the four bolts that fix the feed boom.

Before you lift and install the antenna, determine the height and azimuth of
the antenna according to the design document by compass;
The operators should carry the following materials and tools on the tower: the
pulley, lifting rope, anti-fall clamp, ground cable of the IF cable, PVC tape,
waterproof tape, bundling tape, wrench, socket-head wrench, diagonal pliers,
flathead screwdriver, and paper knife;
Fix the pulley on tower above the antenna which will be mounted,thread
hanging rope through the pulley to ground.

Check the polarization from document, the default polarization mode of the antenna

Loosen the screws by hex key wrench and remove the polarization part;

Remove the vertical polarization converter from the polarization part;

Replace the vertical polarization converter with the horizontal polarizer and connect to
the polarization part;

Confirm the interface of the polarization part is the same as coupler, then insert the
polarization part into the antenna interface of the coupler;

Confirm the arrow on the polarization part points to "H",and fix the two screws on the
polarization part by hex key wrench.

Remove the two lifting rings of the antenna;

Remove the protective cap of the feed boom, and then apply an appropriate ainstallof
vaseline to the gasket of the feed boom;

Remove the protective cap of the feed boom of coupler;

Apply anti-seize grease to the retaining bolts of the coupler;

Confirm that the coupler is consistent with the antenna in the polarization mode;

Close the four latches cornerwise and tighten the four screws on the coupler;, fasten
4 bolts with inner hexagonal tool;

Install the removed lifting rings on the antenna .

Coupler's polarization should be as the feeder's polarization.

Vaseline can't be lay on the surface or inner part of the feeder.

Place the nut to the IF cable, and then strip the sheath off the IF cable ;

Place the clamp to the end of the IF cable;

Fold back the shielding layer to the clamp. Then, place the sleeve between the
shielding layer and the insulating layer;

Reserve the shielding layer of 4 mm and cut off the redundant part ;

Strip the insulating layer off, and obtain the inner conductor of 4.5 mm. Then, file the
head of inner conductor to the arc shape;

Fit the IF cable in the body of connector, and tighten the body and nut with the
wrenches(S=16mm);

Set the multimeter to the continuity test mode.

Connect one needle of the multimeter to the external conductor of the IF cable
connector. Connect the other needle to the core of the IF cable connector.

If no buzz is generated, the IF cable is normal.

If the buzz is generated, the IF cable is short-circuited. The IF cable connector should
be made again.

Bind the lifting rope and pulling rope to the lifting ring and stand of the antenna ;

Two installation operators on the ground lift the antenna to the tower;

Install the two clamps of the stand around the pole and fix the clamps on the stand.
Then, fix the antenna according to the azimuth specified in the design document .For
details, see working procedure 1.6.1C.

Remove the rubber plugs of the two air holes on the bottom of the antenna;

Perform the grounding for the ODU. For details, see working procedure 1.6.1D.
Note

When lifting the antenna, you must use the pulling rope to prevent the antenna from
hitting the tower. In this manner, the equipment can be protected from damage.

When fixing the antenna, you cannot remove the lifting rope from the antenna.
Instead, you should keep the lifting rope bound on the tower tightly till the antenna is
fixed to the pole. In this manner, the antenna can be protected from falling down.

Perform the Grounding of


the IF Cable

Task Description

Wrap one layer of PVC tape 35 cm up and below the clip point;

Wrap the connector with three layers of waterproof tape 35 cm up and below the clip point.
The wrapping directions of the three layers are from down to up, from up to down, and from
down to up respectively;

Wrap the connector with three layers of PVC tape 35 cm below the clip point. The wrapping
directions of the three layers are from down to up, from up to down, and from down to up
respectively ;

Wrap the PVC tape on both ends tightly with cable tie. Then, cut off the redundant cable tie;

Scratching patinting at seleced point on tower;

Fix another end of grounding clamp to seleced point on tower after scratching patinting and
bind the grounding cable to the tower.

The angle between the ground cable connected to the grounding clip and the IF cable can't
exceed 15 degrees. Route the ground cable along the route of the IF cable.

Strip the sheath off the IF cable according to the length of the grounding clip.

Don't strip any shielding layer of the IF cable.

Connect the power cables to the power interface on the PXC board. Then, tighten the
screws to fix the power cable ;

Route the power cables from the equipment side to the DCDB ;

Cut the power cables to a proper length. Then, make the core end terminal (of the blue
cable) and the ring terminal (of the black cable);

Remove the bolt of the working ground busbar. Put the ring terminal of the black cable
around the bolt, and then tighten the bolt ;

Confirm that the capacity of the air breaker is equal to or greater than 15 A. Loosen
the bolt that fixes the power cable on the air breaker, insert the core end terminal
vertically into the jack of the terminal block, and then tighten the bolt.

When connecting the power cable and ground cable to the DCDB, you should insulate
the tools with insulation tape to avoid short circuit.
After the power cables are installed, pull the power cables to ensure that they are
fixed.
