The standard devices installed with PMCU are the PM500, PM700, PM800,
PM9C, CM3000, and CM4000 family of meters. There is an option to install
other device types as well. The optional device types, PM600 and CM2000,
are found in the POWERLOGIC\PMCU\OptionalInstalls folder. That folder
also contains a file called Installing Optional Device Types.txt. See that file
for instructions on installing these device types.

prerequisites are not met, the install program will notify you and will exit the
installation.
NOTE: PMCU will not install on a computer that has any version of System
Manager Software (SMS) or GFX software. If SMS or GFX is installed on
the computer, the PMCU install detects it and stops the install. PMCU will

Before you uninstall PMCU, you should first back up the system database.
System backup files are written to the Backup folder in the main PMCU
folder (default: C:\POWERLOGIC\PMCU\Backup). Each backup file
(SMS_System_Data.bak) overwrites the previous file; thus, if you want to
keep the older file, rename or move it before running the backup procedure.
Follow these steps to back up the PMCU system database:
1. With PMCU running, click Tools > System Backup.
2. In response to the prompt asking if you want to continue, click Yes.
The file SMS_System_Data.bak appears in the PMCU > Backup folder.
The message The backup succeeded displays.
