Guided city tours in The Netherlands

Are you interested in exploring other Dutch cities than just Nijmegen? Here you can
find some addresses for guided city tours. Most cities offer free unguided tours as
well, for that visit a local VVV Tourist Office.
Amsterdam
In 2013 Amsterdam was celebrating the 400th anniversary
of its Canal district. Join a guides on one of the Mee in
Mokum city centre tours featuring the canals and go on a
journey back in time. Every day of the week, except
Mondays, guided tours on foot start at 11am and 2pm for
groups of at most ten persons (7,50 p.p.). The departure
point is Museumcaf Mokum at the Amsterdam Museum
(Kalverstraat 92, Amsterdam). To check availability, call
020-6251390 (1-4pm daily). Be sure to be at the caf 15
minutes before the departure time.

The Hague (Den Haag)


The Hague Guild (Gilde Den Haag) is a not-for-profit foundation
that has been a centre of knowledge for the Hague area for more
than twenty years. You can choose between different tours that
will cost 4 per person with a minimum of 16 and a maximum
of ten participants.

Rotterdam
Rotterdam is famous for its modern architecture. The
Rotterdam Guild offers tours in and around the city. The
basic tours are 4 per person, but are mostly in Dutch. If
you are interested in an English guided Rotterdam walking

Leiden
The Leiden Guild offers tours in one of the less-known cities by
foreigners, but with a great historical value: Sleutelstad Key
city Leiden. Leiden offers tours to a group of at least eight
persons. For bookings, call 06-12209120 between 9am and
5pm (Mon-Fri).

Groningen
Groningen is one of the most Northern Dutch cities. The city
also has a branch of the Guild. Each Thursday, there is a
free city walk accompanied by Guild guide, starting at 2pm
under the Martini tower. The guide tells about everything you
see on the way, such as faades, churches, almshouses,

Maastricht
Maastricht is one of the oldest cities in The Netherlands with a
different feeling and atmosphere compared to most other Dutch
cities. The Maastricht Tourist Office offers guided walking tours in

Utrecht
Utrecht has a rich history: from Roman settlement, medieval
cathedral city full of monasteries and churches, marketplace,
capital of the province of Utrecht with its civil servants to,
finally, a flourishing city centre. In a 1 hour walk the English
speaking guides of the Utrecht Guild will show you the city. If
you have special wishes, the guide often can accommodate
you. Several specialists are available for themes such as Art
Nouveau, Jewish life, women in Utrecht, literary history etc.
