The Peles castle is situated in the Carpathian mountains, near the resort Sinaia,

Romania and its construction started in 1873. In 1947 the Communist regime
seized all royal property, including the Peles Estate and the castle was closed
till the Revolution from 1989. Today it is re-established as heritage site and
opened to the public and in 2006 it was restituted to the former Romanian
monarch Michael I, and it gets almost half a million visitors annually. The Peles
castle is surrounded by extremely pretty landscape with gardens built on
terraces, all at the edge of dense forests. It is very impressive through the
valuable objects it has accumulated: old and new canvases, old furniture,
weapons, everything placed with good taste. The Peles castle is actually a
palace with 170 rooms, many with dedicated themes from world cultures, and
all are furnished and decorated to the slightest detail. There are 30 bathrooms,
one of the finest collections of art in Eastern and Central Europe with almost
2000 pieces and the collection of arms and armour which has over 4000 pieces.
The courtyard has a merry decoration, made out of plants and flowers; all
round, the building's facades are animated by elegant drawings. The interior of
