where z is the average velocity at the inlet, which is 1 m/s in this case.
Solve this problem using FLUENT via ANSYS Workbench. Plot the velocity and
pressure variation within the pipe. Validate your results
AIM:
To find the temperature profile of the given system using ANSYS FLUENT
software.
SOFTWARE USED:
ANSYS FLUENT 13
PROCEDURE:
1. Start ANSYS Workbench by clicking the Windows Start menu, then selecting the
Workbench 13.0 option in the ANSYS 13.0 program group.
Start - All Programs - ANSYS 13.0 - Workbench 13.0
2. This displays the ANSYS Workbench application window, which has the Toolbox
on the left and the Project Schematic to its right. Various supported applications
are listed in the Toolbox and the components of the analysis system will be
displayed in the Project Schematic.
3. Create a new FLUENT fluid flow analysis system by double-clicking the Fluid
Flow (FLUENT) option under Analysis Systems in the Toolbox.
4. Save the project by selecting the Save option under the File menu in ANSYS
workbench.
18. In material tab select the type of material you want to analyze and give the
appropriate properties.
19.In Boundary Condition tab give the boundary conditions as per the problem. B.C
will be specified according to the Named Selections you have created.
20.In Solution Methods tabs, leave the methods as default.
21.In Initialize tab, in Compute From drop up box, select the named selection that
you want to initialize the problem and select INITIALIZE.
22.In RUN CALCULATION, give the Number of Iterations as 300 and click
Calculate.
23.Now after the result is converged, close the Fluent.
24.To get the results from the CFD, select RESULTS from the workbench.
25. Select Contours from Graphics and Animations. Select Temperature from the
dialog box that appears and select the symmetric plane and click Display to get
required result.
RESULT: Thus the Velocity profiles of the given system has been drawn using
ANSYS FLUENT 13.
