PRESENTING INDIAS FIRST ECO-FRIENDLY INSULATION SYSTEM

Company Profile

Asawa Insulation Private Limited is

among the first Companies in India to

manufacture Pre Insulated Panels (PIR)
under the Brand name of SMART Panels
having a state-of-the-art manufacturing
facility in Mumbai. The manufacturing
capacity is 1,500,000 sq m per year.

SMART (PIR) Panels

SMART Panels is manufactured of CFC
&

HCFC

free

closed

cell

Poly-

isocyanurate (PIR) foam sandwiched

between Aluminium sheets, one on
each side. The panel sheet which is
usually 20 or 30 mm in thickness with a
foam density of 45kg/m is later cut,
shaped, fabricated and glued into
different profiles.

Applications
Pre Insulated Ducting System for HVAC
SMART Pre- Insulated Ducting System is
worldwide

used

residential,

hospitals

in

commercial,

and

industrial

applications.
The final ducting is versatile and can be

installed internally or externally, can be

concealed above a false ceiling or visibly
mounted.

Applications (contd..)
Wall Insulation

SMART Panels easily sticks to any surface and

there are no chances of creating any thermal or
cold bridges. The Wall Insulation can be applied in

following ways -

Aluminium Foil / Aluminium Foil

Aluminium Foil / Paper

Floor Insulation / Roof Insulation

SMART Panels are applied seamlessly on the underside of the ground floor. PIR
foam seamlessly seals the floor in contrast to the system that seals off the
ground. Similarly it can be used for Roof Insulation.

Applications (contd..)
Under Deck Insulation
SMART Panels are applied on the inners side of the
roof to prevent heat transfer. The Under Deck
Insulation can be applied in following ways
Aluminium Foil / Aluminium Foil
Aluminium Foil / Paper

Paper / Paper

Applications
False Ceiling

SMART Panels are used as false ceiling in

commercial buildings to reduce heat and noise as
it has insulation and acoustic property. The False
Ceiling can be applied in following ways
Aluminium Foil / Aluminium Foil
Aluminium Foil / Paper
Paper / Paper

Advantage PIR over PU

Thermoset vs. Thermoplastic

The foam plastic insulation materials are of two types- Thermoset and
Thermoplastic. PIR products are Thermoset i.e. once manufactured, the material will
not become supple or melt away even at increased temperatures at above 20003000 Fahrenheit and the insulation material will continue to remain strong without
losing its rigidity while Extruded Polystyrene (PU) is a Thermoplastic material which
starts softening at temperatures above 1650 Fahrenheit and melts above 2000
Fahrenheit.

Ultraviolet Light--What's the effect?

Ultraviolet light degrades Extruded Polystyrene(PU).

Advantage PIR over PU (contd..)

Is your insulation affected by construction materials?

Extruded Polystyrene (PU) can be attacked by many petroleum based solvents in
adhesives, paints, stains, water repellent and preservative coatings, and in
bituminous waterproofing which causes Extruded Polystyrene to dissolve. However,
PIR is not affected by these materials there by remaining sturdy for lifetime.

Thermal Performance--On a per inch basis, PIR always exceeds polystyrene!

In every recommended application, PIR insulation delivers more R-value per inch of
thickness than Extruded Polystyrene (PU) products.

How can you determine if insulation is prone to water vapor problems?

In Extruded Polystyrene (PU) water vapor is more likely to penetrate in the cells
which mean that the water will condense inside the cells thereby reducing the
insulation value.
