Thank you for answering the call of the Orphans and

the cries of thirst emanating from Iraq in places like
Kerbala, Najaf, Basra,Al Kurt, Baghdad and across to
Iran where Iraqi & Afghan orphans are to be found.
Your response shows the words of Imam Jaffer Sadiq
a.s. saying Every day is Ashura, every land is
Kerbala, ring as true today as when they were
spoken and will continue to do so to the end of time.

We pray that Allah puts you in the proximity of

the Holy Prophet in Jannah for responding to
the Prophets advice to care for the Orphans.

Just 30 ($45) a month can ensure
an orphan is fed clothed, housed
and educated.
Help us return hope to these young lives
during these sacred days

These young eyes were witness to the

atrocities that befell the residents of
Kerbala and live their lives emotionally
scarred and often without one or both
parents.

This Muharram you

can provide safe
clean drinking water
to needy families.

As a result of several wars and years of

summary execution under Saddam's
tyrannical rule millions of innocent lives
were denied the love and care of their
parents. If our children have a rough day we
read them a bedtime story to lull them into
sleep. But these children would fall asleep
alone only to be woken up to the sound of
gunfire and exploding bombs to be instantly
reminded that they had lost their father or
mother or worse still, both. These young
minds must have wondered if this was how
they will live the rest of their lives as once
again they realise that their loved ones are
gone forever.

Imam Hussein (a.s.) has asked his

followers to remember his thirst
whenever they drink water.
Even in this day and age, Cholera, is
a life threatening and highly
contagious water borne disease,
frequently found all over Iraq.

The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) highly

recommended caring for the orphaned
child and you can answer the cry of such a
child by offering them some comfort in
their traumatic lives.

More than 1,000 suspected cases

are being treated in Kerbala with
over 25 fatalities having occurred
this year.The Iraqi Ministry of
Health has thus far, no centralised
prevention efforts planned.

At a cost of just 15 per month (just 50p

per day) you can ensure that the child is
housed (preferably with close family)
educated, clothed and fed.

Since the fall of the previous regime

the Trust has worked to provide
access to clean water to
communities in Southern Iraq

Your concern and support will restore

some hope for their future.
You can reach out to an orphan in Kerbala
today and change a life for the better. The
Lady Fatemah (a.s.) Charitable Trust has
worked in Kerbala for over 10 years and has
overseen several such projects. By signing
the Gift Aid Form you are assured that for
every 1 donated up to 1.28 is actually
received by the needy with no deductions
made for administration or any other
associated cost.

Dont forget you can

always sponsor an
orphan in memory of a
loved one or make a
donation as a thoughtful
gift for a special
occasion.

This is your opportunity to help quench the

thirst of needy families in and around Kerbala in
memory of our beloved Imam (a.s.) who was
martyred thirsty.
In the current crisis Cholera is spreading to
vulnerable Iraqis in the affected areas. It is vital to
respond to these desperate cries with urgency.
and halt the spread of this lethal disease. As
cholera spreads via polluted water countless
children and adults, many of them weakened by
malnutrition, chronic disease or age are exposed
to this threat. In rural areas, it is difficult to obtain
water sterilisation tablets and many families
would not be able to afford them even if they
were available. out of desperation, families are
attempting to sterilize water by exposing it to
the sun. This problem is now widespread and
affects many poor folk in Najaf, Kut and Basrah.
Local volunteers purchase water sterilisation
tablets and jerry cans to distribute among the
poor families who have little alternative than to
drink the poorly treated tap water or well water.
A more permanent solution is urgently required.
Since 2003, LFT has been working with local
volunteers striving to assist this deprived strata
of the Iraqi people. The establishment of a charity
eye clinic, income-generating projects, an orphan
sponsorship program and relief distributions are
among the projects implemented by LFT in the
region.
The Trust's emergency program is designed to
protect 20,000 families from cholera for a
month. A box containing 100 water sterilisation
tablets and a jerry can to hold the sterilised
water is distributed to each family, at a cost of
just over 3 per family.
Please donate generously towards this project.
In addition to saving an average family of eight
persons from contracting cholera with a box of
tablets and a water storage and treatment
container, you will also help to prevent the
spread of the disease and indirectly save
countless others. This includes communities
from neighbouring countries frequenting
Kerbala for ziarat during Muharram. They too are
susceptible to this deadly contageous disease.
