MS Windows Enhancements:
MS Windows Server 2012 is supported (all SP levels Inc)/R2 whereas MS windows
2003 is No more supported.
Client OS support added for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 (all SP Inc/R2)
whereas Client OS support removed for XP and Vista OS type
Browser Enhancements:
Browser support added for Internet Explorer 11.x and Firefox 31.x ESR whereas
Browser support removed for Internet Explorer 7 and 8
No changes in Oracle database repository support though Microsoft SQL Server 2012
(all SP levels Inc) has been added
No changes in supported versions of Microsoft Office which are 2007/2010/2013

Changes found in Installation Wizard

Additional EXE files found in root installation folder which includes SMD
SmartView Extensions i.e Supplemental Data Manager and Tax supplemental
schedule smart view extension Installers.
Supported MS Windows 2012 is categorized as Windows NT (Unknown) in
Installation wizard.
FDM is removed and FDMEE is Included in the Installation wizard
The new Tax Management product including Tax Governance and Reporting is
available
Changes found in Configuration Wizard
There are no much noticeable changes found in the configuration then listed below
Financial Management Configuration
Removal of DCOM and IIS web server from configures and there is no DME service
There are only two configuration ports for ranges between 9091-9092 for FM port
and 10001-10020 for data source port range.
There are only two financial management services windows services In place of four.
Financial data Quality Management Enterprise Edition and Financial management is
fully controlled by Java web application.

The Essbase.cfg file still contains the flaw introduced in 11.1.2.3 whereby the
MySQL drivers description is missing an end quote, which causes the rest of the file
to be treated as a comment. We can manually fix this
MaxL is still not available from the command prompt by default and therefore
requires manual customizations of environment variables, should clients wish to
invoke ESSMSH in scripts without using Oracles StartMaxl wrapper script.

Hyperion Financial management

New Architecture
Oracle Hyperion Financial Management is now platform-independent, and is
supported on Windows and Linux (Exalytics).
This release includes simplified deployment, support for multiple databases per
Instance, and streamlined integrations. HFM Linux is only supported on Exalytics
Release 11.2.3.4 does not contain copy app utility and the Job of copy app utility is

Miscellaneous Changes

EPM back-end services are made available as the same as on V 11.1.2.3, so service
start/stop scripts will only need subtle modifications for HFM and Tax.
Windows registry keys for Java memory heap and other settings are the same as in V
11.1.2.3. The default minimum Java heap is 128MB and the default maximum is
4GB.
The Oracle Middleware layer is still 11.1.1.7 and WebLogic 10.3.6, the same as with
11.1.2.3.
The JDK Oracle is using on the back-end is still 1.6.35, the same as with 11.1.2.3.
