The Discovery Tool Home Edition 1.14 and below does not support drive mapping in
Windows Vista OS. The Discovery Tool Home Edition should be used to Discover
the device on the network and then use the Map Network Drive tool that is built into
Windows Vista to map a drive to the shared network folder.
Using the Discovery Tool Home Edition, find the IP Address or Device Name of
your Home Network Hard Drive. You will use this when mapping the drive to the
shared folder.
To map a drive letter to a Home Network Hard Drive shared folder, follow these
steps:

1. Open an Explorer window

Click on the Tools menu
Select Map Network Drive... from the menu
-- or -1. Right-click on My Computer
Select Map Network Drive... from the menu
2. Select the Drive letter you wish to map the shared folder to
3. In the Folder text area, enter \\ then the IP Address or Device Name
4. Enter another \ and enter the shared folder name:
Example: \\iomega-hnhd\public or \\192.168.0.55\public
5. Check the "Reconnect at Login" option if you wish to reconnect to this drive
letter when restarting your computer
6. Click Finish to confirm the drive map.
7. Enter the Username and Password, if necessary, to connect to the shared
network folder
8. Verify that the mapped network drive shows up correctly in My Computer
After you have completed this process, you will be able to open and access the shared
folder from My Computer and save files to it using the newly mapped drive letter
through all Windows applications.
