Questionnaire:

1. What do you understand by the term ethical marketing?

Ethical marketing refers to the application of marketing ethics into the
marketing process. Briefly, marketing ethics refers to the examination of
marketing principles, from a moral standpoint, of particular marketing issues
that are matters of moral judgment.
2. Do you think it is necessary to inculcate ethics into marketing?

3. Do you think trust, dedication and honesty should be a part of a marketing campaign?
4. Does ends justifies the means?
5. Do you think the marketing of your company is more deontological or utilitarian?
Deontology (or Deontological Ethics) is an approach to Ethics that focuses
on the rightness or wrongness of actions themselves, as opposed to the
rightness or wrongness of the consequences of those actions
(Consequentialism) or to the character and habits of the actor (Virtue Ethics).
Utilitarianism is a theory in normative ethics holding that the moral action is
the one that maximizes utility. Utility is defined in various ways, including as
pleasure, economic well-being and the lack of suffering.
6. Does hiding fees and increasing rates without informing is unethical?
Yeah not showing and disseminating the hidden rates to the consumers is an
offence if you take my point of view. Because doing so you are damaging the brand
itself because somehow the customers will come to know of those hidden rates.
7. Marketers indulge themselves in unethical practices greatly depends upon their
personal up-bringing, moral values, professional norms and various other external
factors. Please Comment.
Well marketing practices are induced by the organizations not by individuals.
Although people who devise those strategies are a part of that organization but I

may not go with the notion that personal upbringing and personal moral values are
the reason for unethical practices. Instead Ill lean towards the organizational
moral values which are to be held responsible for unethical practices whether in
the marketing context or in any other sense of the business.
8. As the industry has intense competition, do you think deceptive advertising is
categorized as ethical given the circumstance?
9. Have you ever thought about ethics as a social responsibility in marketing?
Social responsibility is an ethical framework which suggests that an entity,
be it an organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of
society at large. Social responsibility is a duty every individual has to
perform so as to maintain a balance between the economy and the
ecosystems.
