ACOUSTIC MODELING

PH

The PH series of re-entrant horn projectors

supports EASE, CATT and ULYSSES models for
acoustical studies. This means the acoustic models
can be created to simulate the sound quality and
distribution prior to installation. As per BS5839
part 8, EN60849 and NFPA 72 a minimum of 0.5
RaSTI is required to achieve the required intelligibility.

APPROVALS & STANDARDS

The economical, high-value ATES PH Series paging
projectors are well designed, efficient and economical. These 10-, 20- and 30-Watt double re-entrant
horns provide sound penetration and dependability
seldom found in popularly priced models.

APPLICATION
The PH Series paging horns are ideal for indoor or
outdoor situations. Unique applications for the PH
horns are the ability to be installed near sea shores,
made possible by the corrosive-resistant materials
used in their design. Their internal 100V transformers allow long wire runs without severe line loss
and/or daisy-chained connection of multiple units
to the same amplifier with 100V output. Typical
applications are schools, gas stations, industrial
property, ball-parks, factories, recreational areas,
fairgrounds, air shows or wherever high efficiency
and clear communication is of prime importance.

PHYSICAL CONSTRUCTION
Each unit has a 100V transformer sealed inside its
high-strength, lightweight, ABS housing, which is
protected against the elements by molded-in UV
inhibitors.
The wire enters the housing via a gland nut
designed to keep the moisture out. All PH Series
horns use lightweight high-density, phenolic-resin
diaphragms and ceramic magnets.
This family is resistant to salt-laden air and is noncorrosive. Mounting is via an epoxy-coated, stainless steel U bracket, held in place by stainless
steel hardware, allowing its position to be maintained despite unusually high wind velocity.

All ATEIS loudspeakers have undergone tough

testing procedures to ensure that all products can
operate at their rated power in compliance with
IEC60268 - Part 5. In addition, all the fire-rated
products have undergone actual fire tests to insure
compliance with BS5839 - Part 8. The PH series is
tested in accordance with IEC60268 - Part 5 for high
quality intelligibility. The TC version complies
with BS5839 - Part 8, and is hence fitted with
ceramic terminals and thermal fuse.

ARCHITECT & ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION

The unit shall be ATES model PH10T, PH20T, PH30T
or approved equal. The horn speaker shall consist
of a weather-resistant ABS housing, high density
phenolic resin diaphragm, internal 100V transformer, epoxy coated stainless steel mounting
bracket and stainless steel hardware.
PH10T shall have a frequency response of 4008,000Hz and be rated at 10 Watts with transformer
taps at 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25 Watts. Sensitivity shall be
97dB @ 1 watt, 1 meter.
PH20T shall have a frequency response of 2508,000Hz and be rated at 20 Watts with transformer
taps at 20, 10, 5 and 2.5 Watts. Sensitivity shall be
101dB @ 1 watt, 1 meter.
PH30T shall have a frequency response of 3308,000Hz and be rated at 30 Watts with transformer
taps at 30, 15, 7.5 and 3.75 Watts. Sensitivity shall
be 104dB @ 1 watt, 1 meter.
